5-0 out of 5 stars Bathroom humour takes a new form!
I think that the Captain Underpants books are great! George and Harold are just irresistable with their pranks and wise cracks. The two are always making some sort of mischief and continuously selling their 50 cent comic books. Some of the signs that they change are quite humourous indeed. One of the examples is Flower Shop: pick your own roses to Flower Shop: pick our noses! Then, Mr. Krupp comes into the picture as Captain Underpants himself, fighting the evil Dr. Diaper as he goes along. Dav Pilkey can come up with anything from talking toilets to robotic boogers! Anyone who dosen't see the humour in these books is no fun at all! I would also reccomend Super Diaper Baby for readers everywhere! Check out www.captainunderpants.com or www.pilkey.com for information as well as fun and games. CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS AND SUPER DIAPER BABY ROCK!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Two Thumbs Up
Come along with Harold and George as they hypnotize their principal into being the greatest superhero in the world and chase him around town to keep him from getting into trouble. This action packed book is good for the whole family.I gave this book five stars because of it's hilarious jokes and moments.

5-0 out of 5 stars wedgie power!!!!!
George Beard and Harold Hutchins were playing around one day when they accidentally hypnotized their unsuspecting principal into the greatest superhero ever, Captain Underpants. If you like superheroes running around in their underwear, kids chasing superheroes in their underwear and jokes that don't make sense but are still funny anyway then this is the right book for you.Follow Captain Underpants, George, and Harold as they get into the most trouble of their lives. These short books will keep you laughing for hours.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I love this book because I'm a fan of Captain Underpants.
There are more Flip-o-Ramas and the humor is really funny. I like the part where Captain Underpants give the Turbo Toilet 2000 a wedgie. Dav Pilkey rocks and if you buy this book, I hope you feel enjoyable and don't forget to purchase all the Captain Underpants books so you will have all the Captain Underpants books to read.

George& Harold are back in an epic challenge to stop evil talking tiolets destroy earth.this book is so funny with lots of adventure.
I like it and so do the kids at school.

    5-0 out of 5 stars "More Flip-O-Rama!"
"Their teacher, Ms. Ribble might say that George and Harold were 'disruptive' and 'behaviorally challenged.' ...But if you ask their parents, they'd probably say that George and Harold were smart and sweet, and verygood-natured...even if they were a bit silly at times.I'd have to agree with their parents."

Dav Pilky's affectionate, "epic novel" further chronicles the adventures of George and Harold and their principal, Mr. Krupp, who turns into heroic "Captain Underpants" whenever someone snaps their fingers. Pilky unapologetically presents toilet jokes, body part jokes (the boys switch a sign from "pretty armchairs" to "hairy armpits"), and brazen disobedience at school. That's a warnng to potential buyers who can't stand this kind of juvenile humor.

But the book is for juveniles (and those in touch with their inner juvenile).Pilkey's silly jokes, gimmicks (FLIP-O-RAMA), and self-referential chapter titles are inspired insipid fun, and not nearly as violent as the Three Stooges.More mature children will appreciate Pilkey's skewering of the traditional kids' bookand his celebration of low-tech, non-glossy gimmickry.

Oh, and not that it matters, but the evil Talking Toilets are defeated by the "Photo-Atomic Trans-Somgobulating Yectofantriplutonic-zanziptomiser" (or PANSY). 139 pages of fun and lowbrow humor.By the way, just in case you need to defend this book from literary watchdogs, tell them that "Publishers Weekly" called the first book in the series ("The Adventures of Captain Underpants") "the funniest book of the year." ... Editorial Review

Hooray for Captain Underpants! Everybody's favorite waistband warrior is back, ready to fight for Truth, Justice, and all that is Pre-Shrunk and Cottony. If you've read Dav Pilkey's first two comic epics, The Adventures of Captain Underpants and Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets, you already know the brave Captain is really just crabby old Principal Krupp, hypnotized into becoming the world's greatest superhero every time someone snaps their fingers. And of course you know the trouble-making hypnotists are none other than Jerome Horwitz Elementary School's two most notorious tricksters, George and Harold ("We rule!" "Me, too!").

Well, George and Harold--surprise, surprise--are at it again. The cranky lunch ladies quit after George and Harold fool them into baking super-volcanic krispy kupcakes that flood the school with gigantic green globs o' goo. Mr. Krupp finds replacements and fast, but he unwittingly hires the tentacled alien trio of Zorx, Klax, and Jenniferin disguise! Will they turn everyone in school into evil zombie nerds? Can George and Harold save the world before it's too late? All seems lost untilthe diabolical Zorx snaps his... um, tentacles in front of Mr. Krupp, and the power of wedgies comes to the rescue once again.

Captain Underpants's third outing is better than ever, with patented Flip-o-Rama animation and wacky bonus comics like "Captain Underpants--Wedgie Wars" and "Captain Underpants and the Night of the Living Lunch Ladies." (Ages 8 to 12) --Paul Hughes ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Installment To A Great Series!
'Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space' is the one of the best books I've ever read, only behind 'Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman' in my all-time favorites list. All though I haven't read the Bionic Booger Boy Part 1 & 2, I am planning on, and I'm also excited for the upcoming Captain Underpants book,' Captain Underpants and the Preposterous Plight of the Purple Potty People'!

    Editorial Review

In the fourth "epic novel" by the wildly popular Dav Pilkey, young troublemakers George and Harold are back with Mr. Krupp, the Jerome Horowitz Elementary principal they previously transformed into the superhero Captain Underpants with their 3-D hypno ring. This comic adventure begins in New Swissland, where everyone has a silly name. ("Just ask their president, the Honorable Chuckles Jingleberry McMonkeyburger Jr. or his lovely wife, Stinky.") New Swissland, just southeast of Greenland, is the home of the inventor of the Shrinky-Pig 2000 and the Goosy-Grow 4000--Professor Pippy P. Poopypants. When the professor decides to pitch his inventions in the United States, he is laughed out of every institution of higher learning because of his unusual name. Frustrated, he decides to become an elementary school science teacher where the innocent children will, he assumes, be accepting and loving.

This is where his world collides with George and Harold's, who are not accepting of his funny name, but instead explode with laughter and promptly craft a new comic book called "Captain Underpants and the Pied Pooper of Piqua." This hilarious book will crack Pilkey fans up with tiny toilets of truth, evil gerbils, and even Cher's greatest hits. (The children--not notoriously good spellers--note: "All animal cruelty was simulated. No actual girbles were forsed to listen to Cher.") And what becomes of Professor Poopypants? He gets even, devising a method to convert all names into silly names. He creates a chart in which everyone has to use letters from their own first and last names to create a madcap moniker. In the end, George and Harold learn that it's not nice to make fun of people: "'Wow,' said Harold. 'I think this is the first time one of our stories ever had a moral!' 'Probably the last time, too,' said George. 'Let's hope so,' said Harold." --Flunky Pizza Chunks (Ages 8 to 12) ... Read more

Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants is one of the best books you could ever read.If you're up for a laugh, then these books are great! They are adventurous, full of action, and are hilarious! They are about a principal that becomes a super hero through hypnotism, and the idea for these books is great! These books help you to use your imagination more, and even to start writing and drawing your own comic books if you're that into it.Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants is one of the best books that I have ever read, and you need to read this book whether you are seven or a hundred seven. It relates to real life, because there are some people out there that do crazy things, write comic books, and try to be superheroes.Everyone at one time in their life has tried to become a superhero, and these kids accomplished that through a principal. The best book was right under your nose the whole time, even though you didn't pick it out.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was great
As you all know most of the Captain Underpants books have been great. Like in all the book something silly happens to one of the "soon to be villian", like in this book how Professor Poopy Pants gets made fun of for having such a silly name. So in order to get back at everyone he shrinks them all to itty bitty size so he can control them, changing all there names to something really silly. So that they can all share his horrible fate, But not if Captain Underpants can help it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Captain Underpants
Gorge Beard and Harold Hutchines are trouble makers that could not go on the field trip because they got in trouble. Both of the boys had to clean the teacher's lounge and it had to be spotless by the time the children got back.George and Harold wanted to get even with the teachers so they did some mean things. And the teachers quit teaching. Then the children got a new teacher and when the teacher told his name, Professor Pippy P. Poopypants, the children laughed. He showed them the Gerbil Jogger 2000 to try to teach them science. After that Professor Poopypants got so mad he made a shrink ray and shrank the school. Then Captain Underpants flew down and fought against the robot.I like this book. Because the lauphter is so much. Anyone who likes fun books like it. ... Read more

I bought a used copy of this book marked "in good condition," but when it arrived, all of the puzzles had been filled in. There was tons of writing. I had meant to give the book as a gift, but I ended up throwing it away. I was very disappointed.

    5-0 out of 5 stars A++++ Material!
This book is great, including that it has ideas to make a comic book, ideas to make FLIP-O-RAMA, and a whole new Captain Underpants Comic Book "Hairy Potty." This is A++++ Material.

My 8 yr old is usually glued into one of these books, I have read them and I guess you really have to be young to get into them, they are truly silly to the point of no return.
But, hey, as long as they are reading! She gobbles every Captain Underpants book she gets her hands on and the charter school she attends hands them out for reading so many books per term.

    Editorial Review

In the fifth "epic novel" about the extraordinary CaptainUnderpants--"faster than a speeding waistband... more powerful than boxershorts"--the formidable superhero is under siege by a terrifying new enemy, themerciless bionic-powered Wedgie Woman. Will Captain Underpants overcome his fearof spray starch in time to save the world from the evil schemes of Wedgie Woman? No one knows... except maybe George and Harold, the imaginative fourth-gradetroublemakers (imagination is not allowed at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School),who are also the creative minds behind Captain Underpants and Wedgie Woman. Yousee, it all started (as it usually does) with a comic strip drawn andillustrated by the boys. When their mean teacher Miss Ribble gets her hands onthe comic book, their troubles really begin.

Fans who have been eagerly awaiting Book 5 in the series, preceded by such gemsas Captain Underpants and theInvasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space andCaptain Underpants and thePerilous Plot of Professor Poopypants, will heave a sigh of relief atthe appearance of Pilkey's latest tongue-in-cheek superhero adventure novel.Goofier than ever, with plenty of boyish drawings and juvenile humor, thislightweight chapter book is the answer to reluctant (and avid) readers' dreams. If descriptions of Wedgie Woman's bionic hair and the "ubrupt" ending of the"happyness" on the planet of Underpantyworld don't turn grade-schoolers intobookworms, what will? By the way, don't let the quotation from Einstein at thefront of the book mislead you; this is lowbrow humor at its very finest. (Ages 8to 12) --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

Follow George and Harold as they try to undo a horrible, hypnotizing accident with the help of the greatest superhero in the world,CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS. This action-packed thriller consist of two kids with large imaginations,a principal/superhero, a teacher gone wacko and two giant robots. This book is awesome for ages 7-14.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful way to get young boys interested in reading!
I teach fifth grade in a large city and have used these books as an avenue to engageyoung male readers.Considering all of the violence, sex and profanity that our children are exposed to on a daily basis, these books are tame.Dave Pilkey's deft way of tapping into pre-teen boys' innate propensity towards "poopy" humor is brilliant!I have a private "stash" of these books that are lent out on a "per-request" basis, and even my "non-readers" gobble them up!I have watched children who have never read a chapter book graduate to likes of Jerry Spinelli, C.S. Lewis, Roald Dahl, Gary Soto and Louis Sachar.Thank you, Mr. Pilkey!

3-0 out of 5 stars Parental guidance suggested
I'm not one of those people who thinks toilet humor books should be burned--I love the Captain Underpants series. However, I was disappointed in this one.It wasn't because of the toilet humor--I used to work with kids, and they love it.Rather, it was because of the incident that provokes the major conflict of this story. The hypno-ring (which made Mr. Krupp into Capt. Underpants), unbeknownst to George and Harold but knownst to the reader, behaves contrary to the user's intentions when used on women (so if you say "You will give me an A" to a female teacher while using the hypno-ring, she will give you an F).This implies that being male is the natural state of humanity, and that it is women who are "the other."I was offended by that, and I'm a man--after all, few people would tolerate this book if the hypno-ring behaved contrary to the user's intentions when used on nonwhite people.

However, sexism is the only major complaint I have about this book.It is the reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4.If you're thinking about buying it for a kid you know, please feel free to do so, as long as you explain the implicit sexism and make it clear that it's wrong. ... Read more

Move over, Captain Underpants! There's a tiny new superhero in town.Undaunted by Principal Krupp's insistence that their essay assignment on goodcitizenship not be another comic book about the briefs-clad warrior, fourth graders George and Harold decide to invent a new superhero. Super DiaperBaby is born! It's up to our fearless infant hero to save the planet fromdiabolical Deputy Doo-Doo and his reluctantly evil pooch, Danger Dog ("I'm notreally evil. I'm just in it for the kibbles."). Several robotic battles, intergalactic digressions, and "flip-o-ramas" later, Super Diaper Baby has donehis duty, and George and Harold are in trouble yet again with their principal.Still, it was worth it, as any fan of Dav Pilkey's lowbrow, scatologicallyinclined "epic novels" (TheAdventures of Captain Underpants, Captain Underpants and the Wrath of theWicked Wedgie Woman, etc.) will attest. George and Harold's spelling isatrocious, their humor is straight off the grade school playground, and kidslove every page of it. (Ages 8 to 12) --Emilie Coulter ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Super Diaper Baby Rocks!!!
Some people think that just because this book explains waste means it's disgraceful. That is not true. Everybody eats, sleeps and poops. Children need to learn how the body works, it's natural to use the bathroom. Bathroom humour is just fine because it gets kids interested in how the body works. All of you who don't like this book are parents that are very naive and secretive. If you haven't noticed, many children and even adults are fine with knowledge about bodily functions.

4-0 out of 5 stars dog and baby gets super powers
This book is about a baby named Billy who gets super powers! He has to save the world from Deputy Doo - Doo. Billy becomes Super Diaper Baby. He meets Diaper Dog. Deputy Doo - Doo invents a machine to destroy Super Diaper baby and Diaper dog. The diaper duo destroys him. Find out what happens in the rest of the book.

In my opinion, this book has a lot of action, drama, and comedy. You should read this book.

1-0 out of 5 stars WHAT A DISGRACE!
This book came home from the school library, of all places! I sat down to read it with my 3rd grader and almost lost my breath, not from laughing but from disbelief that a library of any kind would contain such garbage. For children in the 2nd and 3rd grade, who are trying to learn to spell, I found the intentionally misspelled words and terrible grammar to be VERY counterproductive. How will they ever learn if this is what they are provided as an example? I took the book away, purchased Charlotte's Web as a replacement, and phoned the school library to voice my concerns.
I also found the subject matter to be gross and unnecessary. I fully grasp the concept of using humor to encourage reading, but there are a lot of funnier things to write about than talking poop.
To make matters worse even still, the last page directs any readers who were offended to send a message to "Me was Offended" so that you could be sent more offensive stuff. What a lesson in disrespect and disregard!
A final point...I also understand the concept of "if you don't like it, don't read it" so I did take the book away, but when provided in the school library, many parents would not even look at the book, assuming that because it came from the school library, it was appropriate. I must say I was surprised by the number of parents who were aware and were not appalled. I suppose for older children who recognize the words were misspelled deliberately and a parent finds it somehow suitable, it would be a good PURCHASE, but I find that having it supplied from a trusted source, such as the library at school, is unacceptable. I am deeply concerned about the standards we are willing to accept. I wish -5 stars would have been an option. ... Read more

I bought my nephew this book as his first chapter book and he absolutly loved it, he sat down and read it in one day, and he just turned six. I am not bothered by the misspelled words. After all these books are supposed to be written by 2nd graders, and at that young an age teachers should not be correcting spelling, they should be encouraging children to sound out a word, and then make an educated guess as to how it is spelled. It's about recognizing letter sounds, and letter combinations, not exact spelling. That comes later. I plan on getting the entire series for my nephew for christmas.

I shared the concern of a previous reviewer about the multitude of misspellings in the Captain Underpants books. However, instead of forbidding my 9-year-old son from reading the books (which he loves), I turned the Captain Underpants books into a spelling lesson. I have my son mark the misspelled words and then write them correctly. If he's not sure of the spelling, he looks it up in the dictionary. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

The sixth "epic novel" in Dav Pilkey's hugely popular series explainsthe awful truth about Captain Underpants (he is really the schoolprincipal), details "the night of the nasty nostril nuggets," offers up"the unnecessarily disgusting chapter," and even explains how "you can'thave your cape and Edith, too."

George and Harold are "C" students (and bad spellers), but they are verygood at "saving the entire planet from the nasty forces of unrelentingevil" and also at ketchup-toilet pranks. Unfortunately, they can't saveMelvin Sneedly from getting paddled by his bionic hamster. But, frankly, they wouldn't want to, because besides being the school brainiac, Melvin is also a tattletale. When his robot-making hobby backfires horribly, Melvin transforms himself into the Bionic Booger Boy instead of a bionic superboy. Can Captain Underpants save everyone from this "greenish, glistening behemoth?"

Pilkey is the superhero of boy humor, stuffing his heavily illustratedbooks with comic-book inserts, "flip-o-rama" animation, and all thegross-out jokes an elementary-school kid could stomach. Fans will wantto get their hands on Captain Underpants and theBig Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The Revenge of theRidiculous Robo-Boogers as well. (Ages 8 and older) --KarinSnelson ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Sending the WRONG message to kids at a YOUNG age
We bought this book for my 7-1/2 yr old to read because his friends were reading it.Although it made him laugh, it quickly taught him and his friends that making fun of other kids is okay, playing tricks on the teacher and principal is better than respecting and listening to them and making huge messes in people's pants with ketchup packets under the toilet seat is what you do at school. My son also thought that George and Harold were cool for getting bad grades, getting sent to the office and being mean.Kids are already rude enough these days both to each other and to teachers and parents. This book is sending the WRONG message- that it's okay to be rude, disrespectful, mean and crude.Even the principal talks rudely to his secretary and teachers.Kids should be taught how to get along and include kids, not pick on them because they are smart or different.DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOU'RE CHILD'S MIND ON THIS BOOK!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Sure Bet With Boys!
This was actually one of the first Captain Underpants books I have gotten for my seven year old. He read over half of the book before we got home from the store and read the rest of it before bedtime! We have never had to fight him to read but to turn off the game system and television yes. This one was a hands down all out best buy!

My son Ethan, has never laughed out loud and frequently when reading books, until this one.He has been begging me for more books in the series!I am so happy I gave in to the whole "booger" theme and let him read them....after all body functions and boogers are the fun ina seven year old boy's life around here!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The sixth book of CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS
This about the school brainiac (Melvin) turning himself into a bionic booger boy. Now see what happened was he tried fusing himself with his bionic robot by using his new invention (The Combine-O-Tron). But righ before the invention was about to do its thing ,Melvin sneezed at the last second. So the invention fused the robot,Melvin, and the snot that came out his nose. In the first book, this used to be about two kids named George and Harold who made an underwear hero out of their principal by using something called the 3-D hypno ring so remember everithing I just said. ... Editorial Review

Clearly one epic novel could never contain the hugely disgusting tale of the Bionic Booger Boy; it makes perfect sense that his story would spill out into Dav Pilkey's seventh epic novel in the Captain Underpants series, Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 2: The Revenge of the Ridiculous Robo-Boogers.

It all started in the sixth epic novel when Melvin Sneedly, a nerd, invented a "combine-o-thingy" that morphed Melvin, a robot, and (accidentally) mucus from his sneeze and created the monstrous Bionic Booger Boy. Unfortunately, in the chaos that ensues, the school principal Mr. Krupp's brain switches to Melvin's body and vice versa (making for a very unhappy school secretary). The diabolical Melvin becomes power-hungry when he realizes that he might be able to keep Mr. Krupp's Captain Underpants superpowers for himself! Can George and Harold stop Melvin from tyrannizing the school--and the world--in his new guise asprincipal and superhero?

Pilkey's heavily illustrated books with comic-book inserts, "flip-o-rama" animation, and loads of gross-out humor are guaranteed to delight elementary-school boys. (Ages 8 and older) --Karin Snelson ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Captian Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Booger Boy
The book I read was Captain Underpants and the Big Bad Battle of the Bionic Boogers By David Pilkey.Captain Underpants accidently switches bodies with a kid while fighting a big bad booger. Harold and George who are captains friends get a machine called combine-o-tron 2000 to blow up the big bad booger. But something goes wrong and teh machine switches captains brain with teh kids.the kid flys off th take over the world, and captain underpants with his new smart brain builds a tim machine to go back in time to prevent all tehmix ups and also to kill the big bad booger.

4-0 out of 5 stars The 7th Epic Novel by Dav Pilkey
Wedgie power! Incredibly graphic violence (in Flip-O-Rama)! Back in action! I really like this book. There's only one problem with it. It's too long. And after a while the story gets a little bit lame. But this book was good nonetheless. The ridicuous robo-boogers are parts of the original Booger Boy, and I won't tell you who he is. I just wanted to say this is a really good book. And, Dav Pilkey, if you read this, when is Captain Underpants and the Purple Potty People coming out?

5-0 out of 5 stars A Guy In Underwear
This captain underpants is about a little boy and an adult that wears underwear. These two boys name George and Haroldswitched their prinsiple and some dorky kid name Melvi. George and Harold switched their brains accidently. So now Mr. Krupp their principal has his brain in Melvin and Melvin has his brain in Mr. Krupp's.
In this book I liked how George and Harold reacted when Mr. Krupp act's like a little kid, and how Melvin act's like is that he is mean all the time to others.
I would rcommened this book to others becaues to me I think this book is funny and very interesting. ... Read more
