Excellent Guide to the Codes.
Being an architecture student, this book, and others by Frank Ching, are more than helpful. It really clarifies the IBC and makes design for studio projects go a lot quicker. Definitely get this book if you're studying architecture.

A must - read for anyone involved in complex development partnerships
Although this book addressed many tricky scenarios for land use and development, it was the only definitive guide I could find that addressed the acquisition of funding for commercial (high density residential) projects involving multiple partners. I'm sure I will be referring back to it regularly!

Excellent book for passing the exam
Knowledge on Project Management comes purely from practical experience. However the professional certifications matters a lot. To pass the exam, probably this is THE ONLY best book in the market. However if you want to learn project management, then sorry !!! - you are on the wrong web page dude !!!

WILDLY uneven.
This book is an impressive accomplishment, admittedly. It is a vast amount of information, very thorough, complete, and seems to cover every aspect of professional practice for an architect. I have other editions of this book back to the 1958 copy, and they are fairly extraordinary records of the changes in the profession.
Worth It!
In addition to the all-new format (thankfully no more binders!), this book really does cover EVERYTHING an architect needs to know to run a business-- from working with clients to developing added-value services-- all in one book.I especially appreciate the new section devoted to understanding client motivation, thinking, processes, and values and the new section summarizing services I can offer to expand my client base. Mostly Sagely Advice for Architects and Designers
Clearly, this book is well worth the price for anyone involved in the management or administration of architectural and design firms. The content is comprehensive, relevant and well-written. Numerous examples and lists as well as an extensive appendix make it very easy to apply concepts. The technical aspects of the book are particularly useful and lucid, especially concerning legal and financial topics. Other sections on planning, marketing and managing growth also offer much information and many insights. Overall, the book certainly stays on track about business by focusing on practice management versus project management. Philosophizing about architecture and design and its place in society is kept to a minimum--a welcome relief from many books on this subject.
Excellent and concise
I've found this book a valuable resource in developing a growth and strategic plan for my architectural firm. It is a short book and doesn't waste time in getting right to the point. However, I would like it to elaborate on a few items since my firm is young and I'm inexperienced in business. For those firm principals of small firms that have been in business for many years and are experiencing any trouble with the A/E business, this is a must read. My only complaint is that the section on Information Technology is not current enough. However, any hard copy of a book of this type would have trouble keeping up with the changing technology environment. Take time over a weekend or holiday to read this book!

Long waited Monograph
For a long time I have been looking for a book that compiles all the work by these Canadian architects. The recent Monograph by Monacelli presents their recent work and illustrates all the way back to their first House, with plans and sections. I have a personal fascination for their analytical models and how these models help to explain all the different aspects of the projects. Spatially, Scale and materiality are the main focus of these explorations. If you like the work by architects like Williams & Tsien (New York), Mathias Klotz (Chile), Morphosis (Los Angeles) or Mecanno (Holland); you probably will enjoy the fine forms by these architects based in Vancouver. ...
