This book should get 10 stars
When I first started my business 13 years ago I didn't know the first thing about marketing. The book is divided into two parts, 50 things you can do that don't cost anything and 50 things that cost. This book was my bible and there were only 3 things that wouldn't work with my business.My phone began to ring and my friends were impressed with my marketing skills. I didn't feel I had marketing skills. I just knew how to read and follow instructions. I highly recommend this book for anyone getting started or for anyone just wanting to jump start their business and see if there is anything that they could do and maybe aren't.

Common sense is really not so common!
I received this book and was thoroughly impressed with it's simplicity and layout.I was feeling very nervous about opening my own retail store in beautiful Hawai'i, but Jay Conrad Levinson's books really helped me to quantify what EXACTLY I need to do to lessen my fear of venturing into the unknown *insert final frontier styled music here, lol*Incidentally, I was able to get a great location, but I learned that the buck does not stop just there - with my arsenal of low cost marketing tactics, I really think that we can enjoy some kick arse sales.We have been open for three business days, who knows what the future may bring - however, due to the aid of these books, Im feeling more confident about the unknown.Marketing, service and quality of product is key, baby.Cheers, Veronica

The Most Critical Information Ever
It took me years to understand what it takes to be successfull in MLM and it has nothing to do with one's talents or the lack thereof.

Easy to get lost
If you like fact reading, you'll like this.I thought he was to discriptive and went on and on and on about nonsense. Some of the info was really good, but it was hard to stay focused and really take it all in.I found my mind wondering and thinking about other things.

Eric Schlosser's "Fast Food Nation" is a thorough if somewhat slanted analysis of the fast food industry.The author hooks the reader early with sweeping invectives against the titans of fast food.Before you can say "Supersize Me," you've learned that Ray Kroc and his cronies are responsible for the homogenization of global culture, the spread of E. coli and other deadly pathogens, the obesity of America's children, and the exploitation of the unskilled masses.Take a deep breath - that's just the intro.
Top-notch Journalism
The author brings a high level of professionalism to his story about the growth of the fast food industry and the consequences of its ruthless pursuit of profits.

I have to admit that I am a huge fan of Napolean Hill. I loved Think and Grow Rich and I love virtually everythingelse he wrote as well. Home Truths
Napolean Hill talks about attitude, outlook and how they influence a person's destiny. He's right and communicates this message to anyone who will listen. This book also has updated material more relevant to our time. If anyone is serious about changing their circumstance then this book is a good place to start.

Great book about making better decisions
"Yes or No" is a story about the process of decision making and how it can be improved to make better decisions.The book tells the technique through a story of "a man" who goes on a hike with a group and learns of the 2 questions he needs to ask himself when making decisions.

Johnson offers a very helpful book in this volume.He presents a simple guide for decision-making, one that will undoubtedly enhance the process for many persons.He essentially describes a two-step decision procedure, examining one's thinking on a given issue, then examining one's feelings on the same subject. Being a person who can never make up their mind, I decided it wouldn't hurt to read a book about better decision making. I enjoyed reading this book because it told a story about a man who used a 'Yes' or 'No' system to make better decisions.This made it easier to understand and apply the system to your own problems. In the story the man talks to many people who have used the system sucessfully. They give him lots of examples on how to arrive at better decisions.The 'Yes' or 'No' system is broken down into two main questions to ask yourself when making decisions. One is a practical question and the other is a private question. This allows you to use the system while making personal decisions or buisness decisions. Every day we are all faced with decisions, big and small. I have realized, from reading this book, that I seem to not think my decisions through as well as I should. I am sure that many other people share similar problems.This book acknowledges what we may not want to admit to ourselves. Drones beware
The first sentence of chapter 1 is probably my favorite quote from this book, and sums up the premise quite nicely:"Unless a businessperson gets cornered into speaking directly to live people - say, English teachers bearing assault rifles - we know what to expect: an indigestible main course of catchphrases and endless prose, with not a lot of substance for dessert."
Boring, crude and just plain wrong
One of the least original thoughts I've heard in a long time is is that some business people writebadly. They state premises without the matching conclusions, they overuse jargon, they can be dull and they hide behind buzzwords. Big whoop.
Tedious coverage of an important topic
Certainly a topic that needs to be addressed.It's a shame they didn't follow more of their own advice.In particular "keep it short."The content of this book would have made a good article, but there just wasn't a book's worth of material here.

Quantity doesn't equal quality
If the sign of a good book is having lots of pages, I'm sure that this would be the best sales book on the market.But it's not a good book. Not even close. This is a must read book for all sales people.

Tribal, Individual, and Symbolic Realms of Power
In Three Levels Of Power And How To Use Them, Myss continues to lift the curtain on the human body's energy network, and the vast data banks which stores our thoughts and feelings. She explains that the power centers (chakras) can be divided into 3 levels: the tribal, the individual, and the symbolic. She also discusses the 8th chakra, a place of symbolic, or archetypal, sight. Myss says that power (our life force/prana/chi) is the common ingredient within the human experience. Moreso, it is the common ingredient in health, and certainly in the loss of health.

I was disappointed by the other reviews that led me to buy it.If you do want to purchase it, consider buying my copy on sale on Amazon for $9.95.But I dont suggest you buy it!Why?Because there is no logic or credibility to the content.She seems to simply have an interesting way of talking and an ability to manufacture terminology.She's "America's premier medical intuitive" probably because she's the America's only medical intuitive.:)

I heard this author first discuss this information in lecture, then again on tape.She is riveting.Her wisdom is so "right on" that it left me stunned for some days, trying digest the sheer quanity of newinsights I had to find a place for it in my gut.This tape set trulyanalyizes the creation and maintenence of personal power, how we get it,loose it, and minipulate with it. It's not a helpful story - in fact, it is dangerous
I have listened to the audiotape version of this book.
Just ok, nothing too inspiring
I think that I expected more.It has a few good points, but not too much that I haven't read before.May be a good starter book or good group read.I think that the Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews is much better.

I think if you want to be rich this book is a must have!Growing up in a poor family and being asian it was definitely hard and difficult to be rich, but I made it big being 27! with very similiar idea to what this book has to offer.For many its easy to be rich and stay rich, so this book will help you become rich with nothing just like how I have started out with.I recommend this book to people who really want to be rich and are honest to them selves because being rich or being a multi-millionaire or a billionaire is like a club or similiar to wining the olympics, "it takes alot of dedication and dreams, but dreams do come true" the rest will be history.Trust me when you are able to reach out and make your dreams a reality there is no feeling better, especially riding on a Bentley or a 911 you could enjoy what celebrity enjoy without anyone bothering you

Heard the taped version of TOUCHING THE ROCK by John A stunning picture of what it is like to become blind
This book was given to me as a gift a few years ago, and while I am neither going blind nor am actually blind, I found many of the ideas and experiences and thoughts and feelings expressed in this book to be very similar to my own.I have some particular cognitive difficulties (prosopagnosia, often called "face blindness") which give me a rather different outlook on life from most people, and I was amazed to see just how much in common my outlook on life was when compared with the author's life experiences.Well, maybe I wasn't that surprized, but it was still an eye-opening (no pun intended) experience for me to read this book in that context.Read more

In Team Rodent, Carl Hiaasen delivers an honestly entertaining picture of his own reservations at what he sees as the Disney Corporation's attempts at becoming a culturally omnipotent force.This piece is more of a political pamphlet in format: it's too long to be considered a simple essay, but it's certainly short enough to be read in a single sitting.
A quick, fun read for Hiaasen's fans
Not much to add beyond the title of this review. Yup, Carl despises Disney.A very lucid and well written diatribe.
