1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid this book at all costs
Fortunately I only paid a few pound for this book at a book fair. I have been successfully day trading for over 5 years, have read in excess of 60 books. This is the worst I have seen. Oliver Velez should be taking out the backyard and horse whipped.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beware of superbookdeals seller
If you want to buy the book, go ahead, just be careful of superbookdeals, they take your money but don't deliver and don't answer emails. Caveat Emptor.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good guide, but can be confusing sometimes
This is a good book. It is crammed with lots of information that is specific to the loan industry. It is a comprehensive guide covering most of the aspects of the loan industry. I turn to this guide every now and then to check up on problems and questions that I run into with my loans.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have for the new mortgage broker!
I wish I had found this book the very day I passed my state exam.It would have saved me much frustration and my confidence could have been boosted a lot sooner, which is key to succeeding in this business. This book is putting me equal to, if not ahead of many people who have been in the business for years.I'm shocked at how little people know and I'm pleased at how much I've learned from this book.Absolutely the best money I've spent on my new career!

5-0 out of 5 stars Jameson Thottam (worked with The Loan Page, IndyMac Bank, Homestore)
Hi, my name is Jameson Thottam and as a mortgage industry participant (VP with various firms such as The Loan Page, IndyMac Bank, Homestore), I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about how the mortgage industry works (soup to nuts: Mortgage Value Chain, Secondary Mortgage Loan Insider Trading, Marketing, and issues related to OCC / OTS / SEC / FDIC, RESPA legal issues & litigation, Operations and other significant issues).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
As someone who writes about customer service, I found this book very interesting. It's an excellent read for a customer service representative and I'd recommend companies getting the book for each of their employees. It covers some customer service basics, how to handle certain situations, and is really a great overview of what great customer service is and how to deliver it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Whoa! That's me in that book!
This is a great book for all customer sservice reps. Here is what I especially loved: I am not alone. Many people across America feel as I do. It makes me feel better about all the people I have to deal with!

5-0 out of 5 stars Working with customers
Super Service is a great book for people who work on the front line like me. It is about not taking things personally and not being at the affect of the customer. When I give great customer service--I am the one who gets to feel good at the end of the day. The fact that the customer goes away feeling satisfied is just an added bonus. I've noticed that a lot of people in customer service positions act like they don't want to be there--like they are victims or something. Super Service reminds me that great service begins and ends with me. After all--if it's not about me--then who is it about? ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Total Rip-off
The book is good, but $130 dollars!!!!You still need to buy a 3 ring binder to put the sheets in, it's not even a paperback, meaning the publisher didn't even spend the money for binding. Who owns this company, Shell?Exxon?Enron?!?There are other accounting books for a fraction of the cost, but the organized crime (my community college) requires this particular one.I wonder what their incentive might be???

4-0 out of 5 stars Beginners manual
If you are new to accounting then this book should definitely be on your list.Explaining step by step how to record basic journal entries and how these entries relate to the various financial statements (Income Statement, Cash-Flows...), in a clear and well organized fashion. The only reason I am unwilling to rate this book five stars is due to the price; as most people will be using this book as an introduction to financial accounting it does seem a little expensive. It is also worth noting the problems and examples used throughout the book are of excellent quality, especially the financial statements provided in appendix A and B.If you have previous experience within the accounting field I would probably recommend a book at a higher level but beginners could do no better. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Ideas
I watch "Designed to Sell" every night - sometimes even the reruns! I looked forward to getting the book but was a bit disappointed about the book's layout. For one thing, on some of the pages they use very small print with a font color that almost matches the background of the photo on the page. I actually had to go back through the book at one point because I had missed some of the write-ups once I realized what they did.
4-0 out of 5 stars Much more informative than I thought it would be...
I was expecting this to possibly be a picture book full of before/after shots.Instead, it's much meatier than I was expecting. So far, so good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource
Designed to Sell is a well written book with helpful tips and photo comparisons from the Designed To Sell program.Lisa Laporta has a wonderful sense of style on a budget.I'll look forward to a possible sequel to this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for the novice Risk Manager
If you are a budding Risk Manager/ Officer or are considering a career move towards Risk Management, this book is a good high-level illustration of what the major sleeves of Risk Management has to offer.
5-0 out of 5 stars This book is a must read for all mid-level and executive level managers
James Lam has written a remarkably clear and relevant portrayal of how [enterprise] risk management can be used to deliver real value in any business.
5-0 out of 5 stars Remarkably Succinct Coverage of a Hot New Topic
You bought Jorion, Pearson, and Hull; you slammed headfirst into the quantitative quagmire of risk management, and you may even have passed the Financial Risk Manager exam, sponsored by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, but are you prepared to become your company's "Risk Champion?"Can you explain to laymen why loss distributions are not normal? Can you illustrate the "sweet spot" in the profit/risk tradeoff? If you aren't quite there yet, pick up James Lam's new book, Enterprise Risk Management, From Incentives to Controls. It's a book you can read on the five hour flight from New York to Los Angeles, and its melodies will linger in your memory. This book has changed the way I communicate with people both in and outside the risk management profession.Read it with a highlighter in your hand, and keep the book within easy reach. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars CS BOOK
Solid book on CS- long read!
5-0 out of 5 stars The book that was missing
This book fills in the empty space of academic books in CRM. Most of the publications and articles I've read deal with research on the subject and companies selling their programs. In this book Peppers and Rogers compiled a comprehensive text with theory, research and contributions from other authors that are a valuable tool for the under and graduate level.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!
This very extensive text on customer relationship management leaves nothing unsaid or unexplained. Authors and editors Don Peppers and Martha Rogers tackle the subject with admirable organization, clarity and depth. They define every important term and do not lose the reader in marketing jargon - a rare virtue in a book about marketing. The text, including contributions from other well-known experts in the field, propounds a well-developed theory of customer relationship management (CRM) and sets out numerous examples to illustrate, explain and clarify the theory. Useful as a handbook, textbook or reference manual, the book covers - among many other core subjects - customer identification and differentiation, customer feedback, an analysis of retailing and basic tools for CRM. We highly recommend this book to service-oriented managers and executives. To form profitable relationships with your customers, first get friendly with Peppers and Rogers. ... Read more

Editorial Review

On any given day, one out of four Americans opts for a quick and cheap meal at a fast-food restaurant, without giving either its speed or its thriftiness a second thought. Fast food is so ubiquitous that it now seems as American, and harmless, as apple pie. But the industry's drive for consolidation, homogenization, and speed has radically transformed America's diet, landscape, economy, and workforce, often in insidiously destructive ways. Eric Schlosser, an award-winning journalist, opens his ambitious and ultimately devastating exposé with an introduction to the iconoclasts and high school dropouts, such as Harlan Sanders and the McDonald brothers, who first applied the principles of a factory assembly line to a commercial kitchen. Quickly, however, he moves behind the counter with the overworked and underpaid teenage workers, onto the factory farms where the potatoes and beef are grown, and into the slaughterhouses run by giant meatpacking corporations. Schlosser wants you to know why those French fries taste so good (with a visit to the world's largest flavor company) and "what really lurks between those sesame-seed buns." Eater beware: forget your concerns about cholesterol, there is--literally--feces in your meat. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to get lost
If you like fact reading, you'll like this.I thought he was to discriptive and went on and on and on about nonsense. Some of the info was really good, but it was hard to stay focused and really take it all in.I found my mind wondering and thinking about other things.

4-0 out of 5 stars Like a guilty little trip to the corner Mickey D's
Eric Schlosser's "Fast Food Nation" is a thorough if somewhat slanted analysis of the fast food industry. The author hooks the reader early with sweeping invectives against the titans of fast food. Before you can say "Supersize Me," you've learned that Ray Kroc and his cronies are responsible for the homogenization of global culture, the spread of E. coli and other deadly pathogens, the obesity of America's children, and the exploitation of the unskilled masses.Take a deep breath - that's just the intro.
5-0 out of 5 stars Top-notch Journalism
The author brings a high level of professionalism to his story about the growth of the fast food industry and the consequences of its ruthless pursuit of profits.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not very good for beginners
I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed of this compared to previous versions of Rich Dad series. It isn't for novices like me, but more for intermediate or expert investors.I suggest reading something like Investing Without Losing by Don Sausa for a better guide on real estate investing, especially for finding properties below market value.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun Book on Bricks
This was a very feel-good primer on real estate investing. It's very much about the mindset of why you should invest.A couple of years ago it would have been like a cheerleading squad for newbies. But in this uncertain time, it's just a little comfort.
5-0 out of 5 stars Finally a book with real numbers and details, not just fluff like the others
First, I was a bit skeptical because although I really liked the Rich Dad series, I thought it was extremely light in the "how" department.Everything he said made sense, but how do I do it?Well the ABC's of Real Estate Investing will take it to the next step and tell you how.

3-0 out of 5 stars Textbook, Not Real World
Coverage of theoretical, not application.Useful for referencing concepts and reinforcing a specific point, but much more of a teaching text than reference material.

2-0 out of 5 stars worst than boring school text book
This book is worst than school text book!!! Don't understand how others rated this book so highly. It is full of principles and theories vs. practicle real life informations. If you want to waste $$ or if your desire is to obtain dry, boring book to help you sleep, this is the one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not a good book for real estate tax liens or tax deed sales
I went to read this book to see if they had any definite information on tax liens and tax deeds.Plenty of developers have raked in millions because they were able to start subdivisions with cheap land bought through tax sales.Unfortunately, this book doesn't cover a lot of this.
4-0 out of 5 stars Wish I had seen it first
I am only mid-way through this book but it has already answered so many of my questions (that another book did not)!I am new to real estate investing but not new to real estate. This book is layed out (like the rest of the Dummies books) in a very easy to follow format. It points out items to definitely remember when considering transactions and also points out warnings.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Book on Real Estate Investing!!
I've purchased several books on real estate(RE) investing and this book by far is the best of the lot.It is written in a concise yet informative manner and provides beginning investors with the techniques and strategies to get their RE investment careers off to a solid start.I'm sure I'll be referring to this book many times throughout my RE investment career.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Quick Guide to Venture Capital Thinking
This book, one claimed by the publisher to fall into the need-to-read category rather than the nice-to-read, is aimed at giving the businessman the information he needs to know to be able to hold an intelligent conversation with a venture capitalist.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book - But Even Better is Author DVD Called Negotiating Term Sheets & Valuations in VC Deals
This author definitely knows his stuff - but even better is author's new product called Negotiating Term Sheets and Valuations in Venture Capital Deals (ISBN 1597010987).It is a 100 minute DVD that has a lot of different material in it that is critical for doing venture capital deals. It also covers specific negotiation strategies and roles and motivations for each key deal participant - which is not covered in this book or the authors other book (Term Sheets & Valuations).

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed
After enjoying his first book, Term Sheets and Valuations, I was looking forward to this one.I regret to say that I found it a big waste of time and a bigger waste of money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book!
Great book not only for those who flip, but even for regular homebuyers in general. I am very impressed with this book. Not only it is very informative, but it is very easy to understand and read!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good book--could be better
Pretty good book for someone starting out.He does add alot of personal life not related to flipping and repeats over and over how he is a host on Extra.Would be better if before and after pictures were from the same angle.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Classic
This book will undoubtedly become a classic in this category, and for good reason. It is practical, well-written and realistic. It provides great pictures and examples of the author's points. It also doesn't over-hype the flipping concept as a get-rich-quick scheme.

1-0 out of 5 stars Content is disaapointing
This book is not worth your time.It covers the most basic material, and full of clichés, generalities and fallacies. If you are over 20 years old and if you actually find something new in this book, then you definitely shouldn't be investing in real estate. You might get lucky when the tide is rising, but you will likely loose it all.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good overall picture but light on specifics
I was hoping for more details on the different types of real estate transactions while the book is more focused on just getting you excited about real estate and getting started.Pretty good if you need something to lift you up and get you going but very light on details - models discussed are very high level.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Millionaire Real Estate Investor

5-0 out of 5 stars E-commerce & business
Please,,,,,,display that book's pages no 23,& 84 .book name:management information system(5th edition).4-0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive but pricey
The text covers the topic with ample examples and diagrams, plus cases short and long. The level of detail is appropriate for a graduate level course. The book is too ...The authors could eliminate the chapter on the office environment. They should condense the chapters on questionnaires and system presentation.Another solution: put the lengthy end-of-chapter case material on a CD; it is doubtful that all of it is used in any course.Perhaps the authors have too much clout to be edited.

4-0 out of 5 stars Everything you ever wanted to know, and then some...
The Kendalls have definitely created a comprehensive book on systems analysis. Virtually every aspect is covered here, and in plenty of detail. There are plenty of review questions and problems, hypothetical consulting situations, an ongoing case-study, and even an associated web-based case study.Read more
