5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Exciting Book
This book is excellent. If you love Unicorns, and I very much do then you will love this cute adorable book. Mary Pope Osborne has done it again with this fantastic story! You won't be disappointed. This book takes place in a blizzard and it's a excellent time to read a story like this coming into the season.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book!
Blizzard of the Blue Moon is one of the greatest book by Mary Pope Osborne! Jack and Annie to New York City, 1938, during the time of the Great depression.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great introduction to chapter books for pre-k age
We actually picked up a four of the Magic Tree House books to give chapter books a try with our 4 year old. He absolutely is enthralled with these. We have already returned to the book store twice for a total of 8 more and I'm sure we will be going back for more.
4-0 out of 5 stars Son received as a b-day present
When he got the first boxed set for his birthday, he wasn't too enthused by it. Up to that point, him reading on his own was like trying to pull teeth. So I bribed him by saying for every book he read, I would give him a dollar.

This was a gift for my granddaughter. My daughter writes: "Suspenseful . . . interesting.Erin can't wait for each chapter. With other books she falls asleep while I read;with these books she asks me to stop so she doesn't miss anything. We are reading no. 5 'Night of the Ninjas' and recently saw a samari suit in the museum (where Andy Warhol is showing) and there are Samari in this book.As a parent I wish there was a little more history in each book, but I think they are age appropriate."

This particular book I'm reading is called The Haunted Castle on Hallows Eve . It's not a very scary book but it might be for Annie and Jack. They're the main characters in the book. They have the magic tree house that sends them on missions. In this secret mission, they don't know what it is about but along the way they find clues. They don't know if it is dangerous or not. But luckily their friend Teddy can come along with them. He's from a whole different dimension. He's from a world where there's wizards. Teddy has a magic rhyming twig that nobody knows about. Inside this castle they go around looking for something that might be going wrong. The exciting, never ending heart pounding action is going to begin. Did Jack and Annie see A ghost or An invisible child. Find the excitement.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
This book is very fun. I't cool at the end where they run into the kid in the eyeball costume!

Excellent. It is so educational and my kids cannot wait to get into the car to listen to it.I loved it so much that I ordered books 9-24.It is a definite must have.

5-0 out of 5 stars We could hardly wait to get in the car to listen!
My 6 year old grandson and I both enjoyed listening to the different adventures that Jack and Annie had as they flew from story to story. My grandson's favorite was the tale of the Mummy. My favorite thing was seeing his enjoyment and having him not grumble at having to run errands with me. The stories also expanded his vocabulary as each new or difficult word was explained by Jack to Annie in a way a child could understand.

4-0 out of 5 stars Love the stories, dislike the organization of the CDs
The Magic Tree House stories are wonderful! My 5 year-old daughter loves listening to the stories at night. However, whomever made the decision to have a story multiple CDs surely didn't think about the listener.I've often wondered if it would be possible to burn separate CDs for each of the stories to make it easier for my daughter to hear a complete story without using a multi-disc CD changer. It's a pity that the CDs are packaged this way as otherwise it's a great package. ... This is the first Magic Tree House book I have experienced.I really enjoyed the book and think the author done an awesome job of incorporated history (through investions and scientific discoveries). The trips the two characters (Jack and Annie) take are not only an adventure but also educational.I would like to go back and read the books that came before.

My son loves this whole series. If you have not started your child on these for age 5 and up, do so!These are the most interesting books for young kids. And so far the series has seem to grow up with my son. This book lists the scientists such as Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and others. These books really start a child learning about history. My son is so much into this history of these, it has led him to research on his own through other books about the historical events! We have also read the accompanying research books. The only thing I wish for now, is some children travel guides from Mrs. Osborne (it would be a great add on to the research books!). Thanks so much for these! ... Read more

Winter of the Ice Wizard is an exciting book you should read it. It starts here, The wizard has lost his eye and his heart. So he only has one eyeball left. Jack and Annie must find his eyeball quick! Before they are in danger... So then the wizard gives them the wind string. And they are off! On their way they met fate sisters who wove cloth to make story's. Annie asked them what the first story was about. The fate sisters said: "Oh that is a sad story". "It all starts here: "The wizard had a beatiful daughter, One day he asked her to leave him forever, She cried but she did what he ordered, She found the water world and she was then turned into a swan. I will leave the story so find out more in this story yourself. At the end he got his eyeball but still could not see but when he almosts destroys them Kathleen and Teddy boght back his daghter and she gives back his heart, And then he can see! And also the wolf's become Merlin and Morgen. My opinion is that girls 6+ and boys 7+ will enjoy this.

My son cannot get enough of this book!We have read it at least 5 times a day for the past 6 months.A game popped up as a result too . . . I hide one of his teddy bears and we go on a bear hunt to find him.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good book for exciting kids about reading
This is a superb book for kids - we have both the board version for younger kids and the larger standard paper version and its one of the books which I think is ideal for friends who are about to have babies.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jack & Annie in China
When Jack and Annie found out that they were going to China, they went straight to the treehouse. They met Morgan there, and she told them that they had to save a library in China. The dragon king was going to burn all the books, because he didn't like them. Jack and Annie saw a huge map of the castle where the emporer lived and they used it to help them find the library. In the end, Jack and Annie saved the library and were heroes again.

My son and I have been reading the Magic Tree House series for the last couple months and we love them. These are the first books that my son has taken a real interest into, checking them out and reading them on his own.Vacations under the Volcanois our favorite one so far. After checking out a bunch from the library we finally decided to buy a set, and he was so disappointed that this one wasn't part of the set that he bought it seperatly on his own. This book has sparked a whole new interest for him.

    Editorial Review

Morgan Le Fey, a magical librarian from the time of King Arthur, has charged a brave young pair of children with the task of freeing an enchanted dog from a spell by collecting four gifts. In the 18th easy-to-read chapter book in Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House series, eight-year-old Jack and seven-year-old Annie travel back almost 200 years to the Great Plains to find a "gift from the prairie blue." Along the way, Annie and Jack make friends with young Black Hawk, narrowly miss a buffalo stampede, and learn about how the Lakotas view the earth and their place in it. (Ages 8 to 12) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars School Book Review
Would you ever want to be chased by a big buffalo? I read a book about two kids that did. It is called Buffalo Before Breakfast by Mary Pope Osborne. This book is about a boy named Jack, a girl named Annie and a dog named Teddy. They travel back in time. This story is also about the buffalo and Native Americans. This is a really cool book. One of my favorite parts is when they saw a huge heard of buffalo.I also liked this book because I am a child and I would like to travel back in time.In this book I think that the author wants to share what Native Americans used to do.You should read this book to see if Jack and Annie, along with Teddy, get back to their own time!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Book
The whole Magic Tree House Series is great-not just this one.The Merlin Missions are the best in the series.

Great collection of stories by Mary Pope Osborne. Perfect for a long road trip with the kids or for use in my 2nd grade class.

5-0 out of 5 stars MAGIC TREE HOUSE CD COLLECTION BOOKS 9-16 by Mary Pope Osborne
My daughter has struggled with reading since the first grade. She will begin the third grade in a week.We discovered the Magic Tree House Collection while participating in our local library's summer reading program. She fell in love with the characters Jack and Annie and their adventures. She has a desire to read now that she did not have before-which makes things much better for the both of us.The CDs reinforce what she reads and this has helped her tremendously.

4-0 out of 5 stars "Better Than a DVD, Dad"
The stories are addictive and the narration is terrific. My 4 kids, ranging in age from 4 to 8 all love the books and opt to listen to the CDs instead of using the car's DVD player. They are better saved for longer trips, but each book has about 10 chapters, so there are natural breaks in the story. It will keep everyone's interest for at least an hour or two before you'll want to swap-out Jack and Annie for some Springsteen or Sinatra. The stories are exciting but not scary, and there is an educational element to them as well. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Please reconsider
While I appreciate that this is a popular series, as an elementary educator from Hawai'i I would like Amazon customers to consider not buying this particular installment of the Tree House books. It perpetuates the most ridiculous stereotypes of Hawai'i and Hawaiians. It makes Native Hawaiians out to be ignorant and indebted to a boy for his superior knowledge -- this is simply a repetition of the old story that Pacific Islanders needed to be saved by the West.At the risk of being cynical, how about a book that explains how the kids did not save Native Hawaiians from the near genocide that followed contact with the West? There are many good books for kids set in Hawai'i, written by people who know the Islands, its history and traditions. Please look for books like these -- The Fish and Its Gifts/Na Makana a Na I'a, Bon Dance in Hawai'i, To Find the Way, or Mr. Miyataki's Wonderful Machine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun and educational
My seven year old loves reading these books over and over again. While she is enjoying the books, she is learning about different places and times in history. She's learned about the Amazon, the wild west, hawaii, the civil and revolutionary wars, the middle ages, ocean mammals, and so much more. I highly recommend the whole series.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Wonderful Adventures of Jack and Annie
This book would be a good choice for people like my friend Lily, who are interested in magic and exploring different times. The Magic Tree House books can go back to times when the dinosaurs ran around and I think there was one when slavery was going on in America. In this book, the characters went to Hawaii and Jack and Annie learned about the huge waves there.Read more
