5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Enchanting....
This is one of my favorite Robert Sabuda pop-up books, although I am admittedly a fan of all of them. While this book is fairly monchromatic, the simple silver, glitter, and white papers highlight just how impressive the folds and cuts really are. That mere paper can be engineered to leap off of the pages as deer, or swirl upward in a silvery river as fish, or open up as a cave to a den of foxes is truly amazing and it never fails to enchant me or my children.
5-0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous, wonderful pop-up book.
The intricacy of the cut-outs is stunning; the artistry of the whole book is amazing. My son loved this book when he received it as an Xmas gift.We will enjoy it every year for years to come, I am certain.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Anxiety Book EVER!
My seven year old has made a complete turn around since we started this work book. She finally feels empowered!!!!She understands that worries are like a "bully" that should be told to scram! We are truly thrilled! If you are really feeling the struggle of having a child with some anxiety/worry issues you must buy this book.I bought heaps of books last week and this is definitely the stand out.Today (the 23rd day of school) was the first day that she went into school with a smile on her face!Thank you, Ms. Huebner!Thank you!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Resource
This book served not only as a wonderful reference, but also provoked various discussions between my [...] son, my husband and myself. It's written in a manner that was easy for my son to understand and it continues to hold his interest. We haven't finished with it as of yet, but so far it has provided us with another avenue in dealing with our child's anxiety issues.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Investment to Get Started
My 4.5 year old knew his numbers, but when I saw the inside of this book on amazon, I realized that I have not used any technique to build his basics in counting etc., and bought this book
4-0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth the investment, but ...
I would highly recommend any of the kumon books, because they are very well done. The first 20 pages of this book were number tracings. Then it went to writing numbers by copying the numbers from very small text to writing them from memorization. This was too big of a jump for my son who had just turned 5.So we took a break and did the Uppercase book. Then we did the "review" part of the Simple addition book. Then we went back to this book and my son was able to continue just fine.I loved the book, but there should really be a whole book dedicated to tracing numbers, before requiring the child to write numbers from memory. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for kids!
This is a fabulous book on autism acceptance. This is great for teachers or parents that want their kids to better understand someone that is "different" than the others. It is well written and really presents a creative way of introducing Autism and other spectrum disorders to kids.

5-0 out of 5 stars Must have.
I purchased this book after reading the reviews. Our seven year old son is on the Autism Spectrum and his daycare friends had lots of questions about his behaviors and his limited language skills.I brought this book in for the teacher to read. The comment from the teacher was "They got it."

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best book for Kids to Understand
I bought this book for my sons K-1 class. The book explains what autism is on a level for young children to understand and the kids loved the coloring aspect of it. His teacher loved the adult explainations of each page. My 8 year old borrowed the book to read to his 2nd grade class so that they could understand his brother! I read this book to my Introdution to Early Childhood class and my teacher agreed, this book should be purchased. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone whose child is going into a different learning environment. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Two thumbprints up for this book!
Love this little book! My 3 year old son hasmade pictures with his fingerprints at his preschool. This isa great way for children to express themselves by making their fingerprints into any number of little animal or other creatures. I bought this book for us to make projects with at home. I thought it would be great for his little thank you notes to relatives. My son loves this book. If you decide to buy this book, you will not be dissapointed. I also enjoyed using this myself as an adult.

4-0 out of 5 stars A GOOD STARTING PLACE FOR KIDS TO DRAW
I purchased this book to use in two art camps. One was focused on printmaking and the other on cartooning.Once students open the book they were eager to try out the fingerprint illustrations and began looking for particular animals they wanted to illustrate. The book is colorful and appealing and provides a good starting place for kids to draw with ready success 'at their fingertips.' The only problem we encountered was the need for fine line marker for details as their fingerprints are small and their drawings were less successful if the marker they used was too thick or bled.

5-0 out of 5 stars My 5 yo daughter LOVED this book.
We gave my 5 yo daughter this book, some washable kid's ink pads and a sketchbook this weekend for her 5th birthday. She LOVES it.She drew some pretty amazing pictures last night with just a little help to work through the steps.I'm sure she'll be creating masterpieces all on her own in no time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Relaxing, Effective, Excellent Resource for Parents and Educators
First I will begin by listing the programs/CD's/books that I have purchased from Lite Books.4 books:A Boy and a Bear, The Affirmation Web, A Boy and a Turtle and The Goodnight Caterpillar plus 5 audio CDs:Indigo Dreams, Indigo Ocean Dreams, Indigo Dreams: Garden of Wellness, Indigo Teen Dreams and Indigo Dreams: Adult Relaxationplus:Children's Stress Awareness Curriculum Designed for Youth Education.
4-0 out of 5 stars A Boy and a Bear: The Children's Relaxation Book
We have several of Lori Lites' book and the Indigo dreams CD, and like them all but this by far my challenging son's favorite. My husband read the story the first few times, and my son did like the story, but did not get much from it.I realized that DH did not really understand the importance of using a very calm, soothing voice (it can be hard to find it with an oppositional child). So, I asked DH to simply flip pages with the CD going. They both got so relaxed they fell asleep.I will say I have some practice at mediation but I am no expert. I took a turn with as I had read the story and thought it would help if we could get him to participate. I started reading it and got so into it that almost forgot I was reading it to someone. Wow!I was floored when he began to spontaneously breath rhythmically with me.He was so centered and peaceful for the next couple of days. It was one of the most rewarding moments I have had with him.Since then, Mommy reads the story to him.Is a cure all? No way, but if, you enjoy meditation and rhythmic breathing, and do the work for yourself in the book, you may just find that your child comes along for the ride.

1-0 out of 5 stars take advantage of parents
This is the second time I ordered a book to try and help my children with their OCD and have received a paper thin book that was completely over priced. I believe that they are taking advantage of the fact, that as parents, we try to do all we can to fix medical problems that are out of our control. I would go to the ends of the earth if I could help my childrens feel better, but I don't like it when someone takes advantage of the situation. I won't buy a book that I haven't picked up and looked at before hand anymore. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I Spy Christmas for Everyone
I ordered I Spy Christmas for my younger sister because our whole family enjoys I Spy books. Some of the sets in this book are: a cookie collage...pinecones in the snow...under the Christmas tree... they're really beautiful!

5-0 out of 5 stars Oh what fun it is to spy...
If you're familiar with the I Spy series, you know what to expect in this book. If you're new to the world of I Spy, imagine staring in your fully stocked refrigerator looking for the Philly cream cheese. You know it's there - you just bought it yesterday - but for the life of you, you can't find it. Then your spouse comes by, reaches around you and grabs the tub from beside the two-liter bottle of Pepsi. I Spy is just like that: you know what you're looking for, you know it's in the picture somewhere, and some clown is bound to come by and find it immediately after you've been searching for a half an hour. That's why I recommend letting your spouse have first crack at the pictures. It makes your finding the specified objects a breeze.

Everyone says WOW when I show them this book!
5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book!
I took my 1 year old to a bookstore to get her some books and music. The title "One Red Dot" caught my attention and imagine my amazement when I opened the book! I showed it to my daughter, she got so excited she tried to touch the pop up shapes. Sadly, some child loved the book so much that they tore up some of the pop ups and there weren't any more copies available at the store. As soon as I put it back on the shelf, my daughter started howling because she wanted it and she wouldnt stop screaming until we got to the car! Needless to say, I am going to order this book for her!

5-0 out of 5 stars Everyone loves this!
I bought this for my 5 year old son, because he is definitely a "color outside the lines" kid. When he started Kindergarten his teacher told me that he doesn't color in the lines (well, we never made him, we love his free spirit coloring). Anyway, he has never liked your traditional coloring books and I thought these might be a good way to help him color in the lines but still let him use his imagination. (I bought both the Doodles and Scribbles by the way). These are just awesome. WELL worth the price! My son loves them, my husband loves them, and I love them. The added unforeseen plus was that it has made some great bonding time when we sit and do these books with our son. The only complaint I would have (and believe me, this is very minor) is that I wish the books lay flat when open, maybe like a spiral binding instead of a regular book binding. Other than that, they are awesome. I highly recommend these!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, well worth its price
Your kids will never need another coloring book! This is a huge book that will keep the kids very entertained at home on a rainy day or in the car.And it's so much more than a coloring book; it's an activity book that even younger children can use.One example of what's in the book, there are four pages each with the exact same landscape. At the top of each page is a different "direction."One says "it's spring," the next "summer," the next "fall" and the last "winter is finally here." Great for fostering creativity and highly recommended. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A great birthday gift for 9+ year old boys
We checked this book out of the library for my son after reading about it on one of their "recommended reading" lists for boys. After watching my son walk around day after day with it, and seeing him fold down every other page in the book, I had to get him his own copy.I ordered two extras for gifts. The first one he gave was a huge hit - the boy's mom told me that her son was also enthralled with it.The third copy never even made it to a birthday party - a friend came over with her two sons (8 and 10) and they were having so much fun reading through the book that I had to give them the last copy.Soon I'll be ordering more to stock up for upcoming parties - this is a sure hit for boys.Just in time too - once they hit 9 or so, it's hard to figure out what to give as gifts since toys are beginning to lose their luster.

5-0 out of 5 stars Boy Stuff is Hot Stuff!
For a 10-year old boys, summer and boredom could be synonymous. Not with the Big Book of Boy Stuff! Our son saw a classmate's book, brought often to school for free reading time, and could not bear the brief bits of time he was allowed to read his friend's.He had to have his own, to bring home, to read outside, to read in bed. This book is chock full of fascinating facts and fun activities that a boy can do on his own.10 is an age when independence rocks! This book keeps the boy and his parents happy for many long hours. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Budding fashion designers will love it!
This is an excellent book that my 12 year old daughter, and ALL her friends have truly enjoyed. The book comes with stencils for outfits. It also comes with patterned paper to use for the outfits. It has a great selection of paper. The paper is similar to scrapbook paper but seems specially designed for the small outfits as the patterns on the paper go well with small outfits. Finally, it has some wire hangers - sized to fit the outfits. The girls have had hours of fun with this book.My daughter glues all the outfits into a notebook, and the friend who designed it "signs" the page.My only wish is that there was an address or phone number where you could order additional paper packs. While Klutz is generous when they give you the paper, my kids are using it a LOT!Her 8 year old sister enjoys it too.It is suitable for any age that is very good with scissors. The outfits are quite small.I plan to purchase some of these to use as birthday gifts to have on hand. This is one of the best activity books we've purchased.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids and adults!
I bought this book as a activity to share with my neice who is 8.We both loved it.The book is full of inspiration and helpful tips like how to use your finished creations and also how to use scissors more accurately and how to glue without making a mess. The papers and accents they supply are really nice and the fashion stencils are perfectly engineered. It comes with everything you need except the scissors.I enjoyed it so much that I bought another copy for myself and for some of my crafty friends who love fashion.I really think this is a great craft book and I've recommended it to many friends. The Klutz products are always clever but this one is really special. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Our son has never been so enthralled over a book
We bought this book for our 8 yr. old son and it's the first book that we couldn't pry from his hands.I never thought I'd hear myself say, "Son, would you please stop reading.".The illustration in the book as well as all the elements are beautiful and it's just so full of interesting "things" including a bunch of stickers. The stickers are so beautiful that my son didn't want to use them so they wouldn't get messed up. He wanted to keep them perfectly preserved.Every page is a suprise. He loved this book so much that he begged us to buy Pirateology and we didn't hesitate.

The model dragon was cool and you can even hang it from the ceiling
3-0 out of 5 stars Purchase for the Dragon model
I originally bought this for my nephews, who have a fascination with dragons and such at the moment. It's definitely a result of the Harry Potter phenomenon, but the similarity ends at its "magical" quality. Its intent is the opening of minds to the hidden worlds of the imagination, and a rekindling of young peoples' interests in areas of mythology and classic literature. Supposedly the work of the last dragonmaster, the book aims to dispel the myths on dragons, recalling Hagrid's comments that they are "very misunderstood creatures". While Dragonology has lots of bells and whistles and moving parts, this is a simple guide to tracking and identifying dragons of various types, and the information within can also be found in either the first Dragonology text, or the Handbook. The Dragon model, used for identifying dragons in the wild, is quite a treat, however, and easily assembled, though I would expect it to be easier for 10+ year olds. The model itself is made from very thick, durable cardboard (almost like wood), and, for the price of less than $10, it's a decent value. While the tracking guide is great for stimulating the imagination of children (of all ages, apparently), it's a slightly more involved text than Dragonology (and on par with the Handbook, from which it was derived), and therefore also likely to appeal to children 10+. ... I bought this book for my kids ages six and seven. They both love it.This book is a nice mix of hard to find and easier to find items. These I spy books also made nice birthday gifts for some other children we know.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite of the I Spy Series!
My family has enjoyed I Spy Picture Riddles for many years. I Spy Treasure Hunt is my personal favorite. The reader is invited to search for hidden items on pages that represent an imaginary seaside town. The first puzzle page features the train station, while the next two page spread is the "View from Duck Pond Inn". Eventually, the Pirate's treasure is revealed! I enjoy the less flashy and cluttered look of this particular book, though my kids seem to highly enjoy all the I Spy books. I recommend them for all ages!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great reinforcer of previously learned lessons...
I was advised by a homeschooling guide to buy this book for my science classes some time ago. I am pleased to say that I did not regret the decision I made to purchase it, as this is an excellent book! At first, I was surprised that a coloring book would be recommended as an educational tool for a first year high school student, but it was actually very helpful to me. Once I was finished completing it, I was delighted to see how vivid and realistic the illustrations became. So delighted that I bought a copy for my younger siblings to try (aged 7-10). Unfortunately they found it a little too daunting, so I'd have to say that it's not the best book for a ten year old or younger. However, if you're looking for a challenging, educational book for a student aged eleven or up, then you should try this one. You might even find yourself picking up a marker and coloring with him. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun with great learning
Since my daughter turned about 3--and now show is 5 and a half--she and I have enjoyed this book time and again each time we visit it. It generally sits in her bookshelf for a month or three, but I've seen come out during several of her playdates. If you use this book casually, every once in a while, your child will definitely learn human anatomy over time. So too, often, will the adult.
5-0 out of 5 stars fun for all ages
My 7 year old, 4 year old and I all have fun looking at this book.it can be used as in introduction to the human body for younger children or to study more deeply for older children. And it's just fun to watch how all the parts interlock and open up. ... Read more
