A Distinguished Mystery Book(siobhan fitzgerald, age 11)
Flush is a mystery book that I would highly recomend for younge readers. Dusty Muleman, is the criminal who is supposidley dumping sewage into the many waters of Thunder Beach to save money. This book also includes fantastic thrills to were Abbey and Noah Underwood come into close incounters of being caught while full filling thier full proof plan. They also have a couple of former crew members to help them capture the crook and save the beach for both wildlife, and themselves.

Hiaasen is fun and fast!
Flush takes place in Florida. Noah Underwood, the main character, is trying to catch Dusty in the act of dumping his casino boat's waste in the water. HIs father knows that Dusty is doing this, so he sunk the boat. Pane Underwood (Noah's father) goes to jail for sinking the boat. This book is hysterical, a must-read, can't-put-down!

Amazing
this book is about four sisters who go on a vacation and very soon meet a boy with a horifing mother.the boy and the four sisters have lots of adventures and each different talents.and one of the aventures involve a little girl with butterfly wings and a very mean bull.I think this isthe best book I have ever reand. and the best book I have enjoyed all the way through.I just can't stop reading it. I am jelous of the four girls.I bet they had the summer of thier lives!!

Great Book, Unsatisfying Ending
I absolutely loved this book, but I found that the ending was very unsatisfying.It seemed to end so suddenly and not even one of the characters seemed to have a pleasing ending.A sequel might clear up the somewhat confusing ending.

Good book
This is a very good children's novel. It is easy to read and moves along quickly to keep the attention. The story is enchanting and very sweet.

Enchanting
The story of a family which can never die or get hurt known as the Tucks. A classic love story between living forever for love or living life normal. Which would you choose? The main character Winnie Foster is caught between her new love, Jessie, which belongs to the Tuck family. Now the Tuck family is a very strange family which kept there life as a secret by moving to different place every once in a while. The story goes on and at the end Winnie is either to choose Jessie and drink from the fountain of youth or go on living and move on. Jessie did not want her to drink from it but she loved him and said she would do anything. The setting takes place in a old town called Treegap, which was very small and secluded from the outside world. I would say the genre of this book is a love and fantasy. The book has 139 pages and you cannot stop until you hit that blank page at the end of the book.

Owns a piece of my soul
I read the book for the first time when I was 9 years old. I dig it out every few years and re read it. To this day it still has the power to reduce me to tears.
A portrait of friendship
Published in the 70's, this book was an instant children's classic in American literature.This book deals with the friendship of a boy, Jesse, and a girl, Leslie, both of whom are social outcasts.Coming from different families and upbringings, they form a friendship that bears the strain of tragedy.This reviewer read this book while in elementary school; but revisited it once I heard that a movie was being made about it.The book is very good, and is great for children to read in today's culture where intergender relationships are often characterized in terms of sex.I recommend it.

Sad, yet beautiful
One of my favorite parts of parenting is rediscovering wonderful children's literature with my daughters. I had heard of this book but never read it, so when my daughter chose it for a book report I seized the opportunity to read an award-winning book that I had neglected.

Lovely
A beautifully produced book, spectacular illustrations, a heartwarming story. Especially perfect for a read aloud with 3rd and 4th graders.

Rabbit Run
This beautiful book, both in design and form, is an example of simplicity at it's best. A doll rabbit known as Edward Tulane to his owner (a small girl named Abilene) lives a life of privilege, he has the finest clothes, he has the love of a child, and he has a beautiful gold pocket watch of his very own. There is one problem however, though Edward knows love, for Abilene does love him so, he doesn't understand love. And because he doesn't understand love, he can not love nor can he know what it means to be loved. Truley and purley amazing
This book is not only pages with letters typed on them but a true masterpiece. As I read it I cried, jumped for joy and felt that Kate Dicammilo was an amazing person. Her books (Because of Win-Dixie, The Tale of Desperaux and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane) all have won well deserved awards and loved by all who read that feel the story as if were true and truly heartwarming. I've read the story countless times and each time I feel that the world is a wondrous place. Even though Edward is a china rabbit who lives, I didn't feel that it was cartoony and amusing. I felt that it was a true story and not a book that makes you laugh at how cartony it is. You MUST read this book if you are not just a kid who thinks a book is only pages and print. the secret of life
So of course my senior quote was, "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye."Because I knew that in order to create my ideal life, I would have to follow the best advice Saint-Exupery offers us in this book.And I knew that he was sharing the secret of life with us.Following your heart, following the path that you know is right for your soul, is the way to achieve inner peace.Your heart always shows you the right way.Especially when you are lost.
You're lovely, but you're empty. One couldn't die for you.
To be honest, I never read The Little Prince, or even really remembered it from my childhood. What brought it up, was playing the game Katamari Damacy. Apparently, part of the game was inspired by this tale, and that made me interested. Anything that inspired a very charming game couldn't be a loss, right? Unfortunately, the first time I picked up the book, I didn't get into it, and left it to collect dust for several months. But I gave it another shot recently, and read it during my breaks at work, and ended up getting quite a bit out of the book. Most importantly, how differently the world is when you're a child- I forgot how things seemed back then. The stars, animals, jobs people have, everything is completely different from how you see it as a child, than how you see it as an adult. Part of me is ashamed for letting that happen, so to put it. The dedication in this book even makes a jab at this fact, asking the children reading the book for forgiveness, dedicating it to an adult, his friend Leon Werth. He instead corrects it and dedicates the book "to Leon Werth when he was a little boy"- the person who became Leon. That alone should give you an understanding of how to take the rest of this book. While some children may not understand everything here (I actually recommend it to children age 7 and up, at youngest), the adults reading it to them certainly will, and that's just as important. I should mention though, before reviewing, that this review concerns the 60th Anniversary Edition. Amazon, for whatever reason, combines reviews for a product, even if they're clearly alternate versions. So I don't know about the minor translation changes that some people noticed, as I haven't read the book before this edition.
Not a hat but an elephant inside a boa constrictor
My only regret about this book is I never learned enough in French class to read and enjoy the untranslated version.THE LITTLE PRINCE is such a charming fable and makes so many points about what is really important in life and how to live it that it will linger in the thoughtful reader's memory forever.The simple perfect artwork is as memorable as the text.Perhaps the tragic death of the author adds extra poignancy but THE LITTLE PRINCE would be a well loved classic if Antoine de Saint-Exupery had died of old age in his bed. ... One of the reviewers wondered why the text was changed at the end of Chapter 12, The Dark Island.I just reviewed both my editions, and they both match the text on the CD.One edition is a Puffin Book, published by Penguin Books (1977) and the other is the First Harper Trophy edition (2000).I wonder why YOUR edition is different?

Essential children's book
I have had the pleasure to enjoy this book from two different perspectives: first as a child and now as a parent reading to my child.This book is wonderful!The story and illustrations are captivating for both young and old.The town and people of Chewandswallow are just as real as they were over 20 years ago!This book is a must for anyone with children and even for those who are young at heart!

Inkspell.....
This book was on my bookshelf in a less than a week after I read Inkheart.I really enjoyed it and could not put it down. Cornelia Funke used very good detail and surprised me very much as well.I never would have suspected some of the things that happened but I must admit that I expected some things that did not happen.I cannot say that one book was better than the other but I can say that it is a must read for all ages!

Not just for kids
Cornelia Funke follows up her fantastic adventure, Inkheart, with a more in depth and more mature sequel.Younger kids can still appreciate the excitement and the magic, but a young adult or even adult reader can find enjoyment between the pages.The character development delves even deeper in this book.Inkheart explored what would happen if you could make your favorite characters real.Inkspell asks: What do you do after ten years away?Can you ever go back to an old life? And finally: can you choose who you love?
What I think about Inkspell
I like Inkspell and Inkheart very much and I am hoping for the next book. My dad and I are thinking that it will probably start out with the word Ink (although he has not read it yet).

One of the weaker volumes, but still a wonderful series
My friend, a huge fan of the Warriors series, is what got me into this wonderful story, and I'm glad she did.
There are not your ordinary cats
I am a librarian, and I started reading this series in 2005. I never really understood why it was for children because there is more violence and bloodshed then the Harry Potter series. Moreover, The Warriors saga became a lot more darker and gothic once it spun off onto the sequel: "T.N.P."

An overall Disappointment
This book was largely a disappointment. I had heard previously that this was the leading high school text that is used and had high expectations. I was disappointed to find a plethora of type errors (including math mistakes!) and also very poor descriptions of things like bonding theory, equilibrium constants, reaction ratesetc. The book covers a lot but fails to get real advanced in much of anything. I would reccomend for the advanced high school student a college level text with a good teacher instead of wasting your time on this.

Not too good for self-study
I'm an 8th grader that wants to learn chemistry very badly, and bought this book.
BIG FAT MISTAKE
I just found out from my VISA company that not only you credit my money back but you charged the money for the item that I returned. Another words you charged me twice.

My book for my review was called Hoot. Hoot is about a boy named Roy . Roy is the main character in the story. The author's name is Carl Hiaasen. Read this book--its good!
Roy Eberhart, Mullet Fingers, and Beatrice Leep are trying to save little baby owls and their existence from Mother Paula's all American Pancake House, Inc. They do a series of stuff to the construction site so they couldn't build the pancake house in Coconut Cove, Florida.Mother Paula's knows they are there, but they want the pancake house anyway. I recommend this to kids who like fiction and who are very adventurous people.

By far, the worst in the series.
This installment is easily the weakest in the series. The writing is all over the place, and there is no central plot to drive the story. That being said, the book is still good. I've just come to expect more from this series.

It was great!
Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonex was one of the best books i have ever read even though I am a huge Harry Potter fan. The book starts out by describing how the muggle prime minister and the minister of magic have to be connected. Harry is at home in the next chapter and Dumbledore comes to see him at the Durlseys and tells Harry how they would be having lessons the whole year, teaching Harry more about Voldemort's past and Harry learning how to kill Voldemort. The rest of the book plays up on the adventure that Dumbledore and Harry take together trying to kill part of Voldemorts soul, a Horcrux. When Harry and Dumbledore come home Dumbledore learns of how Draco Malfoy has been following Voldemort all year and Snape is also on the dark lord's side, seeing how he kills Dumbledore.

I loved this book because it kept you guessing and it was exciting.It was even better than all the others in my opinion.Harry was furious because he coudn't find out what Lord Voldemort was doing.This book is about stopping Voldemort and his horrible plans.The head of the ministry of magic has hired Professor Umbridge as the new defense against the Dark Arts teacher and the High Inquisitor of the school.Harry tries to help out other people by teaching defensive spells.I definitely recommend this book to people of all ages! ... I cannot paraphrase the story in any way that would do it justice. Pullman is beyond me; the story was too rich, too powerful, too complex and subtle and ambitious, and it had to be to be equal to what I now sit here wishing I could convey to you.
A grand metaphysical journey with convincing characters and details
I just finished reading this grand trilogy to my kids, aged 8, 10, and 12.My wife ended up sitting in on almost the entire series, and all of us were riveted from Oxford to the World of the Dead and back again.These books are incredibly ambitious: they set out to stitch together a religio-political history of the multiverse with deep, informed reference to physics, religious history, adolescent psychology, Nietzschean heroism, etc. etc. etc.The result, as I read it, is one of the most compelling indictments of church and state ever written for a broad audience.Author Philip Pullman concludes, without didactic hamfistedness, that the first purpose of churches and governments is self-perpetuation through maintaining the ignorance of their adherents and citizens.The greatest wisdom and joy, in Pullma
