By far, the worst in the series.
This installment is easily the weakest in the series. The writing is all over the place, and there is no central plot to drive the story. That being said, the book is still good. I've just come to expect more from this series.

It was great!
Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonex was one of the best books i have ever read even though I am a huge Harry Potter fan. The book starts out by describing how the muggle prime minister and the minister of magic have to be connected. Harry is at home in the next chapter and Dumbledore comes to see him at the Durlseys and tells Harry how they would be having lessons the whole year, teaching Harry more about Voldemort's past and Harry learning how to kill Voldemort. The rest of the book plays up on the adventure that Dumbledore and Harry take together trying to kill part of Voldemorts soul, a Horcrux. When Harry and Dumbledore come home Dumbledore learns of how Draco Malfoy has been following Voldemort all year and Snape is also on the dark lord's side, seeing how he kills Dumbledore.

I loved this book because it kept you guessing and it was exciting.It was even better than all the others in my opinion.Harry was furious because he coudn't find out what Lord Voldemort was doing.This book is about stopping Voldemort and his horrible plans.The head of the ministry of magic has hired Professor Umbridge as the new defense against the Dark Arts teacher and the High Inquisitor of the school.Harry tries to help out other people by teaching defensive spells.I definitely recommend this book to people of all ages! ... Advice of sibling true - they get better and better
My little brother passed away at just 17 years old on July 25th, and I remember when I first started reading year 4, he said that each book only get's better and I have a long way to go. Yes, it took me nearly three months to read this novel, but not because I'm that slow of a reader. More likely, the story and characters were so interesting that I preferred dragging out each chapter to save myself from moving forward to year 5.

The Magic Tree House Books 1-8
Excellent. It is so educational and my kids cannot wait to get into the car to listen to it.I loved it so much that I ordered books 9-24.It is a definite must have.

We could hardly wait to get in the car to listen!
My 6 year old grandson and I both enjoyed listening to the different adventures that Jack and Annie had as they flew from story to story. My grandson's favorite was the tale of the Mummy. My favorite thing was seeing his enjoyment and having him not grumble at having to run errands with me. The stories also expanded his vocabulary as each new or difficult word was explained by Jack to Annie in a way a child could understand.

Love the stories, dislike the organization of the CDs
The Magic Tree House stories are wonderful!My 5 year-old daughter loves listening to the stories at night.However, whomever made the decision to have a story multiple CDs surely didn't think about the listener.I've often wondered if it would be possible to burn separate CDs for each of the stories to make it easier for my daughter to hear a complete story without using a multi-disc CD changer.It's a pity that the CDs are packaged this way as otherwise it's a great package. ... I like the book
I choose to read Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban this summer,as a summer reading book because I thought the movie was good. So , I decided to read the book and see what is different and the same. J.k. Rowling has a great nack for writing children's because i love the books she writes.What I don't like is that the book ends and doesn't say where Harry stays. Does he stay with his godparent or dr does he go back to his uncle & aunts house.Maybe he stays with his godparent or go's to his uncles or he stays in hogwarts. I would like to read the fourth book to find out.

It was a great book
This summer i read the book Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban. I thought the book was greta and so was the movie. In the book there is some parts that are the same in the movie and somethings that are in the book not in the movie.That is what i did not like about the book the parts should of been explain so you could understand it more. This is a plot for everyone because it is very entertaining. It is also very easy to understand. Once you start reading, you can hardly put the book down. There are also links to other episodes of the book that makes the reader want to read more. There are usages of magic, fantasy creatures, and competitive sports in the plot to create colorful variety to the audience. J.K. Rowling uses the purity of adolescence and interprets it in the form of courage, cooperation, and youthful innocence that showed the power to overcome many things.

The book starts off at Harry's aunt and uncle's house. Harry goes back to Hogwarts for his second year at school. There is a new character and his name is "Dobby." He is a slave. He does not want Harry Potter to go to Hogwarts. Dobby made it so that Harry could not get on the train so Harry took a flying car. And Dobby made the Blunger in Quitage chase him and break his arm.

Great book, but did anyone notice that they left there trunks in the trunk of the car yet had them when they got to school...?

Repeat Book
I am not a fan of books that repeat themselves, but this one is adorable. The pictures are so good and the rhymes so cute that it does not even phase me to repeat the lines. It is the perfect length for a bedtime story. Looking forward to reading it for years!

Sweet story
This is a wonderful story for any child who has ever felt left out.Leo is tiny and can't make his light shine.He is teased by the other lightning bugs.His mom tells him to keep trying and he'll succeed.After practicing over and over, he finally figures out how to light his light.The other bugs stop teasing him and he learns to laugh at himself, an important lesson for the younger child.I have a 6 year old and an 8 1/2 year old and they both love this story.The illustrations are wonderful.

My two nephews love this book & CD!
This lovely and lively story became an instant favorite of my two young nephews -- which is saying a lot considering that their bookshelf is well stocked!The CD that accompanies the book (making the price a real bargain) is no afterthought -- it is just as rich in detail and as well-produced as the book itself.And having a CD of the book comes in very handy when the boys are in the mood to hear the story AGAIN (and again and again and again...)

My children are enchanted, amused and QUIET!
I purchased this CD prior to a family roadtrip last spring, having no prior exposure to Arnold Lobel, or Frog & Toad. My 6-year old son and 4-year old daughter were quick converts. They easily follow the stories, laugh at the absurdities of the characters' sweet friendship. They constantly requested it to be played in the car whenever we were out and about. Since then, we have also purchased "Mouse Tales" on CD, which they also adore. Intelligent, engaging, & fun.

Does Not Include Read-Along Book
Because this item did not come with a companion book, it does not suit my family's needs.This is most disappointing.For the price, it should include a companion book.

Wonderful children's book!
This is an excellent book for kids of all ages!My 5 year old twins first heard this when they were 3 and had me make it into a movie for them.My 7th and 8th grade students also love it, especially at Halloween!It is even more enjoyable with the CD.I highly recommend this book!

Don't waste your money

The hobbit
I didnt really enjoy this book because it was hard for me to understand. I understood the characters and i could picture what they looked liked because it has good discription, but other than that the rest of the book didn't grab my intrest. The biggest reason I didn't like this book was probably because it wasn't real, like how the hobbits lived under ground. After reading this book I relized that i'm just not into fantasy stories.

The best of these books
The story of a simple man on a long journey, I enjoyed every page and have read it again and again.
There and Back Again
I know that over a thousand people have reviewed this wonderful book but I felt so strongly about The Hobbit that I just had to say sonething about it. The Hobbit was and still is a masterpiece, and will remain a masterpiece for centuries to come. One of the main reasons why is that its prose and style of writing is absolutely captivating. It has a simple and delightful charm to it that makes you want to keep on reading. Its plot is also a treat. It is not boring or stale, as I've heard others say, but lively. Also, with this book, there are many coicidences and connections among characters (so what if Bilbo didn't kill Smaug? Think about it. Could a little hobbit really kill a dragon twenty times his size, despite his cunning and discreetness? I don't think so). Best of all, though, it has a sweet message and theme that can actually leave you pondering about it for hours. I have read the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and I have to admit that, in my opinion, The Hobbit is better, despite the Trilogy's genius. What can I say? It's an excellent read, and definetly worth your time. The only thing you'll regret is that it will go by too fast. ... Read more

"Better Than a DVD, Dad"
The stories are addictive and the narration is terrific. My 4 kids, ranging in age from 4 to 8 all love the books and opt to listen to the CDs instead of using the car's DVD player. They are better saved for longer trips, but each book has about 10 chapters, so there are natural breaks in the story. It will keep everyone's interest for at least an hour or two before you'll want to swap-out Jack and Annie for some Springsteen or Sinatra. Ooops! She did it again
J.K Rowling has pulled off another stellar Harry Potter. Because the amount of time it takes to complete a 7-part series, I thought she'd run out of steam, but clearly she has not. After seeing what happened with King towards the end of the Dark Towers series, I was afraid another renowned writer might do the same. I was pleasantly disappointed. There is nothing else to say. Great book. She keeps the series rolling perfectly. Some of the goings on (people who've read the story should know what I'm talking about) I believe are front for other plans, and I was not heart broken at the end.
Harry's Daring Quest
Harry Potter and Professor Dumbledore try to research Lord Voldemort's childhood. They search through the pensieve discovering the truth about Lord Voldemort. They realize the rutheless, evil wizard splits his soul into seven pieces by murdering seven innocent people. Then he magicallyhid them into valuable objects, which Harry and Dumbledore set after for. I loved the book because the story line was thrilling and intriguing. The characters were daring, intelligent, humorous, and wise. My favorite character is Harry Potter who is a sixteen year old wizard who's parents died because Voldemort murdered them both. Harry is my favorite character because he is brave and humorous. Some related books to this one are all five of the other Harry Potter books. I think this book ranks number one in comparison to them all.

This book series stinks! And that's flattering.
One star is giving this terrible and uninteresting series a huge compliment. Especially this book, where the plot consists of little but pointless stories of the character's love lives until the end, when there is a quick bit that is actually about Good vs evil. Good for all
As an adult and a parent I can't recommend these books enough. And I'm amazed the religious fundamentalists can't see past the magic and see the true central theme to the series. That being love is the most powerful force there is. Not evil. My daughters' grandparents have forbidden her from reading these books. Yet they have never read a single page of any of the books. This type of ridiculous judgement has to stop. These stories have everything a growing mind needs. After reading some of the reviews on this page all I can say is that I'm truly glad to see there are still rational people in this world.

The Harry Potter series is a must read!!
Some people don't like the Harry Potter series because of the whole whitch/wizard and magic thing, but if you don't mind that, these books are great! It's a series that has it all: mystery, humor, etc. It has great charactors that you really feel like you know, and it has a great moral too: good over evil.

A fine work of literature that can stand alongside any in English
I just reread it recently as an adult. I had this boxed set of three hardcover E.B. White books when I was a kid - Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan (which I remember as my favorite of the three, though I hardly remember it today), and Stuart Little.

I've purchased this book for my daughter who is almost 9 years old, I end up reading it before her.This book is great for growing up kids; how wonderful and variable it is to have a friend he/she can depend on and be with to share fun, sad and so so stories to one another.

This book, though it may seem to be just a cute story about a pig, is actually quite sad.The first time I read this book I was in first grade and I liked it, but it was only when I just recently read it again that I realized how good it really is. I mean that in a good way, of course.She has a soothing voice and knows well how to read her own work (which I cannot say of all authors who read their own material on audiobook format).I am bias as I don't think Clarissa has written anything less than a 5.

Like Being a Child Again
Clarissa Pinkola Estes reached a lovely taproot for me with this CD.I am a chronic insomniac and now I easily drift off to sleep, feeling as warmed as I did when my grandmother used to lie down with me, petting my forehead with her soft, papery hands.
