No Good At ALL
This is one of the worst game guides I have read in my life...and I've read a few. I got it back in '97 when the game first came out and spoiled everything (even THE big event at the end of the first disc). I later got the guide from Versus Books and it blew this pathetic book out of the water. It spoiled nothing and had twice the amount of useful secrets (including materia combos). Don't waste your time (and money) with this joke. Thankfully, BRADYGames realized its idiocy, fixed it, and got it right for FFVIII's guide (which basically aped FFVII's Versus Books' guide's style). Then they ruined it again with that awful, useless FFIX guide. I guess money grubbers never learn. And guys, you're supposed to be reviewing the GUIDE, not the game...

Terrible...
I guess this is an okay guide if you just want to get the game over with, but why would you waste your time doing that? This guide misses out on so much. I've found items on my own that weren't even mentioned in the guide. The bestiary has no organization and it's still missing many monsters/enemies. You can tell that they tried to make it in the order that you'll encounter the enemies, but many of them can be found before and many of them aren't even listed at all. The weapons, items, and materials information at the end is not detailed enough. "Side Areas" lacks organizations and it isn't very helpful. Where is the help on Enemy Skills? On the walkthrough section, they don't even tell you the right buttons most of the time (not that you need it, though). The numbering/lettering system gets a little bit confusing. A lot of their "strategies" are based on the same party that they like to use. Not everyone likes to use Aeris, especially if they have played the game before. I could go on and on but I don't want to bore you. On a side note, the PC version (black and white, I can't find it anywhere anymore) by the same author was so much better. Everything that this guide lacked was in the PC version (except for color, but they made that up by having color maps and stuff in the back).

Product damage
The service was great I recieved my package within a week, but when i opened it i noticed that the book was damaged due to the poor handling. I guess if your looking to just have the guide for reference then you won't have a problem but if you want it for keeps then you might want to order it with some bigger stuff so it doesn't get damaged on the way. ... The best handbook in the world!!
It has all the pokemon you need and know about. My favorite parts are the pokemon you see in the book. If you want to buy it, just buy it. You won't regret it.-- from my 8year-old son.

Authors Bart Farkas and Douglas Kiang are more concerned with making learning Flight Simulator fun than they are with the minutia of real-life aviation. Even so, the game's options for intense realism make it impossible to talk about the simulation with out teaching a bit of the real thing. Excellent
Without the availability of all the VOR and NDB frequencies shown in the book it is very difficult to fly from one area of the country to another.I use it daily for all my flights. I realize these frequencies areavailable within the FS 98 program but this is more convenient.

Completely useless book. Don't buy it.
I have the 5.1 Flight Simulator version of this book. That is indeed an interesting and stimulating book. I expected this one to be as interesting the 5.1 version and that was the reason for buying it. The Windows 95 version is a total deception. 3rd Grade Teacher
I bought this Science Encyclopedia along with their basic Encyclopedia and I truly love it.My kids are always reading it whenever they get the chance.I have a 5 minute session after lunch before my class leaves to go to "specials." During that 5 minute teaching period I have been letting them pick out one subject area from one of the encyclopedias and then we review how to read nonfiction while looking over that subject briefly.I am amazed to see the sparks that start flying and how interested in all of the subjects the students have been.The pictures are wonderful and help students to connect with the information they are reading.I will buy more sets for my classroom because they are always in use!!!!

Unnecessary
Don't waste your money. The point of a "puzzle" game is to solve the puzzles using your brainpower. Strategy guides in general are more helpful for strategy-style games (SimCity, etc). In this case, itis just giving you solutions.

Nice book. Read it. NOW!!!
This was my very first game programming book. Eversince I have read 2 other books about programming, and am working on two more.
A good starting point
Short: I am writing this review from the perspective of a high school student who started with Blitz, went on to a more advanced language, and is now revisiting Blitz again.
Good Book, Deceptive Marketing
The reviews for the first edition of this book, and its software, were very positive. I bought it for my kids shortly after the second edition came out. This edition of the book is useful, but the software--supposedly the key to making the book work, since it is supposed to allow you to actually design games as you go along--is advertised on the back of the book as being unlimited, and it's not unlimited.It's a demo that expires after several uses. Supposedly there's an unlimited version on the author's web site; good luck finding it.

If you need pointers for Single Player
The Strategy Guide helps you out on the Campagin. Nothing more, but what you learn there you may bring over to Multiplayer or battles later on after the campagin, note that there are many patches created after this book.

WCIII:Frozen Throne Strategy Guide
I admit, I am one of those people who is always buying the guides for games.I get easily frustrated when I can't figure something out, so if I can't beat a mission on the first or second try, I cheat or use a guide to help.I was having issues with some of the missions while I was playing the Frozen Throne campaign and I finally got the guide.I only use it for the chapter-by-chapter walkthrough of the campaign for assistance during the particularly rough missions.It was incredibly useful, very detailed - everything I expected from a strategy guide.It had all the information I wanted, plus a heck of a lot more - but it was easy to navigate through and find exactly the mission I was having trouble with and find the solution to my problem.I highly recommend this guide! ... Ok, for one thing I agree that you might not need a stradegy guide for it but if you like to use them like me I sugest this stradegy guide! But they could of added some stuf the guide is pretty short but the game is pretty short too expecially for what you had to pay for it before 50.00!!!!!!!!!! Also i very recomend FF10.

Worst World History Book Ever -- Huge Gaps in History
I bought this book and hoped it had a comprehensive view of world history.Sadly, it does not.First, I looked up World War II to find the name of the Japanese leader who ordered the kamikaze pilots to bomb Pearl Harbor.Only six pages are devoted to World War II and, since half of each page is graced with a huge photo, really only three pages of actual text (which is a huge font as well).Absolutely no mention of Japan's part in World War II and only a picture of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima without any further explanation.
Excellent History book for young kids
This is an excellent History book for kids who like to read and see pictures. The pictures are not only beautiful, they help kids to transport themselves to the times of History they are reading about.The internet links information is very useful, but if your child is too young to surf the internet, the book itself has enough historical information for young children.

A good guide, still some missing info though..
I strive to finish a game and THEN buy the guide. This guide has pretty much everything you need to know. One major thing it's missing is strategy for the "final battle".
Not Quite Good Enough From Fox
Strategy guides have always seemed to have a interesting effect to help people with video games. Nevertheless, third-party companies that make those guides for video games don't actually make them very well at all. For Star Fox Adventures, it has been one of the most surprising video games ever developed for the Nintendo Gamecube. However, the strategy guide Brady Games developed does have a lot of problems. The maps and details are really not detailed enough and quite misleading on certain courses. Another problem is that it doesn't display how to defeat the Star Fox menace, Andross. For so many, they are just better off passing this guide up, for the real deal by Nintendo.
Another Good guide
I liked this guide. It was clear and concise as most guides should be.I like the screens and how much time they spent getting you used to the game was an extra treat.They didn't jump right into the walkthrough which I was glad for.Also, the walkthrough was much more clearly organized and easy to read as compared to the other guides (I really didn't like the Nintendo Power guide for this game...).
