Excellent Teaching Tool
This Dolch Work Book #3 includes fascinating stories, poems, fables, and word searches that are based on the Dolch Word List, the most commonly used words for beginning readers.Lesson plans and worksheets are offered on the Learning Abilities web site in conjunction with the book. This Dolch Book, which is the third in a series, is an excellent teaching tool for all children who are learning to read, but in particular, for learning disabled children.In her book Learning Disabilities: There is a Cure, educational expert, Addie Cusimano, devotes an entire chapter on the Right Reading Approach. In it she discusses the importance of using a beginning reader that is based on the Dolch sight list.

A Great Book for Beginning Readers
My granddaughter is a beginning reader. I found this book to be a wonderful way for her to learn new words gradually. Once a new word was introduced, it is used throughout the book in other stories. It reminded me of the old Sally, Dick and Jane books that I read in first grade. My granddaughter's favorite story was the one entitled "Under the Can." She squealed with delight when she discovered what was "under the can." The "word find" exercises in the book were fun for my granddaughter also. this book is just what I was looking for.the songs and poems are short and easy.lots of old favorites and new ones, too.

nice book of fingerplays
This book contains 38 finger plays, from the well-known (I'm a Little Teapot) to ones I've never heard of (Here are Mother's Knives and Forks). Each is in big type with large illustrations to show you how to do the fingerplay. For those that are sung, musical arrangements are at the back of the book, along with a bibliography and index. As someone with training in folklore, I always trust a book with Joanna Cole's name on it.This book does a very good job of showing (rather than desscribing) the actions and provides the words and music.As it is folklore, you will find some of the fingerplays or action rhymes from yourchildhood as well as new additions to your repetoire.As I have come toexpect, I believe that the publishing company has underestimated the agerange for which the book is appropriate ... listen to your young friendsafter their first camping trip with the cub scouts, bluebirds etc. and youwill find that even at that ages children are teaching children some ofthese plays. ... Great for toddlers!
Pages and pictures are nice and big. My 14 months loves it.

Giggles galore
My son lights up and laughs when he sees this book.He loves the peekaboo concept, but giggles even harder when mommy gets the sound "wrong." If you are signing with your child, this book provides a great opportunity to reinforce the sign with the animal sound. Wonderful book!

Loved it
I am a stay at home who works nights for AAA so I'm kept pretty busy 24/7. This book helped me enhance my creativity and helped me to encourage my daughter's desire to learn. She now is 20 months old, counts to 10 on her own, sings the whole twinkle,twinkle little star song (missing a word here and there) and is starting to really grasp letters. She can sing up to the letter D. Not that the only reason is this book but it gave me some really great ideas to help her along. Some are very common knowledge but many are not. I am so glad I came across this and am about to go onto the twos book. I can't wait. By the way it's not all about work it's really a lot of fun as well.

Fun book!
My child loves this book. The magnets keep him entertained for a long time. This book is great for traveling too.

I've seen this, now I'll read this!
Oh, yeah! Now there's the book I'm looking for; Out for a Spin definetly equals imagination with eight special magnets. The magnets are shaped like favorite Cars characters: Lightning McQueen, The King, Chick Hicks, Doc Hudson, Mater, Sally, Sheriff, and Ramone. I'm very happy that these magnets contain Strip Weathers (or in this case, The King) and Ramone because the two are my most favorites even though I like all eight. I'm definetly recommending this book to any child who has a big imagination as I do and if parents ever want playtime in storytime, I'm recommending this book to them as well. Have fun! ... My Baby's Got Rhythm--Fun and Realistic Toddler Play!
The talented and prolific Helen Oxen bury ("We're Going on a Bear Hunt," the "Tom and Pippa" series) is a master at board books as well as picture books aimed at a slightly older audience.Clap Hands is a large format board book (there should be more of these!) showing four adorably dressed youngsters at play and snack time. For once, we see kids as they really look: Wearing oversized hand-me-downs that show evidence of the kids' pulling and tugging at them, and generally flopping around.
Great kids book!
All 3 of my girls enjoyed this book (a series of 4). I even bought the set of 4 books for my nephew and niece. They are quick, catchy reads. Kids love the big pictures of the babies.

You can keep this book.
As the parent of a child who was a voracious reader; (we read tons of books together when she was small) I really was not at all impressed with this book. I purchased this book for my friend's little boy, based on the reviews here and was so disappointed. Granted some time had passed since I bought children's books, but I have started buying them again for my grandaughter. I returned it because I felt too embarassed to give this book. The only cute feature about this book is the eye catching illustrations that would appeal to toddlers. Story or content wise, it's about as much fun to read as watching paint dry. ... Read more

Great game for frist time gamers
This is a great game for frist time players but if you are use to havingdice to roll can be hard.

Lack of specificity is both strength and weakness
MURPG has its strengths, foremost among them ease of play.However, there is very little differentiation between characters of approximate strength and/or ability (as already mentioned).

At first, I was hesitant to buy this book coz i under-estimated its size, plus it got no dice roll stuff. But to my surprise, it got all that i was expecting for a well designed and well balanced game of Superheores/Supervillains.

Brain Stretching Activity
I use these puzzles with elementary students in my classes. My gifted students ages 6 and up love them! Other students 7 and up also enjoy doing them once they get the hang of it--even the parents have asked for their own copies to work!

If You're Smart, Who Cares?
You know smart kids are passed off as nerds in school and then they become unhappy losers? I know it's sad, but, do you want your little one to turn out like that? Lose all confidence, then end up at some street corner asking for money? Since I doubt it, I highly do not recommend this problem.

Competitive Dominoes: How To Play Like A Champion
Very informative and helpfull in the strategy of the latin dominoes.

Partner's Dominoes - How to get it all!
I liked this version of dominoes by Mr. Lugo. It is about most of a one game variation which is a Block game for partners, but there is a lot explored too. I play every day on a small hand-held Radica domino electronic game a similar variation of Block. I can't get enough of it just like Mr. Lugo with his Block game! His book really helped me to appreciate more and more all Block dominoes and stay interested with it too - which is saying a lot! I think I will soon start my own league too!

Great insight into the game!
Although I play regularly, until reading Dr. Lugo's book, I never realized the many ways to properly play. I assumed that the game was basically luck. Dr. Lugo instructs in the basics then takes the reader into an in depth analysis of the game. Strategy, training and proper playing of tiles are discussed. There are drawings which guide the reader with the strategy being taught. His instructions are well written and easily understood. This is a book which can raise your level of play.It is written for competative partners domino games, but is easily applied to Muggins and other scoring or blocking games.
