Best Boynton Book
We've checked out a number of Boynton books from our library, and Pajama Time is the first one my daughter has really loved.She just turned two, and she is always asking for "Jammie Time" to be read to her, especially when we are getting her ready for bed.I like how the book can be sung, which always brings a smile to my daughter's face.The pictures and words are silly and seem to be very appealing to toddlers.

A family favorite for years
We love this book so much that we buy it for all our friends and family that have babies.It is the perfect rocking chair companion.We love the sing-song rhyming of the story, and we read it so much to our children (5 & 6) that we still remember all the words.

I listened to the audiobook... I usually become annoyed with books with skip to back story alot. It didn't bother me much here.

Psychological Sci-Fi
This book is about a 32-year old retarded man, Charlie, who is made smart through surgery.Scientists had previously tried this surgery on mice and though the mice got smarter, they rapidly declined.Finally a mouse comes along that seems to stay smart (Algernon), and the scientists decide it's time to try the surgery on a human.
Breathtaking
I don't know how I missed this jewel until now, but I'm glad I finally found it.I haven't been this moved by a work of fiction in a long, long time.I found myself so drawn to Charlie and to what was happening to him, to his longing for acceptance and love, and to his quest to make sense of his world.The desire for acceptance and love--from oneself and from others--is something all people have in common regardless their IQ.I cried as Charlie regressed, all the while knowing what was happening to him, realizing the profundity of his loss, yet finally being grateful for the short period of intellect and what that contributed to science.
Better acted out?
I have a feeling I would enjoy this story a lot more by viewing the movie or the play. The way the book was written is perfect for a screenplay. I quess I was expecting more pathos. Granted, the story was touching, but I never really felt connected with the writing style. ... Read more

Beautiful
I found this book for my little girl, after discovering a Dinosaur and Shark book for my son. It is so beautiful I sat in awe for about 30 minutes looking at it when I first received it. It's not Disney's Cinderella, so don't look for any comparisons. Instead, it is a beautiful story full of imaginative pop-ups that allow little girls to pretend they are in the story as Cinderella herself. My little girl (2 years) just loves to sit with me and my husband and flip through the story. Even my 3 year old boy loves to look at it!

Indeed, the "fairest of them all"
Aza ins't just plain; she's plain ugly. Terrible In Comparison to Freak(2 Stars)

Pretty Good
It was ok. I like Freak the Mighty better. You reallly get to like Rachel (Worm). And you really actually start to miss Kevin (Freak).

Max the Mighty is an ok book. The book is written by Rodman Philbrick. Max is a very tall kid and doesnt have any friends eccept one, she goes by the name worm but is really Rachel. Rachel lives with her mother in a poorer section of town. Rachel has a step-dad that is very abusive to her mother and Rachel. The step-dad goes by the undertaker and is kind of weird. One day Max decides to save Rachel by taking her out of her home and run away but now her step-dad lied about everything telling her mom what to say because she is afraid. So now Max is in really big trouble with the cops and running to Montana. Now your going have to read the book to find out what is going to happen next. ... Read more

Absolutely Splendid

love you forever
I found i love you forever to be a very true tale of a mothers love. Throughout the story the boy goes throught lifes many changes and phases, continuely disobeying his mothers wishes only to find himself in his mother arms everynight, as she recites the same poem expressing her unconditional love. At storys end the tables turn and a heartwarming turn of events is expressed.

Sweet message, but not our favorite
This book really does have a nice message about unconditional love that a parent has for a child.For that I give it major kudos.On the other hand it is a bit sappy and maudlin for my taste.I agree that the mom showing up at the son's house is a bit strange, but it is a children's book.It's not supposed to be entirely realistic.I think (hope) that part is supposed to be more symbolic.I think the illustrations in this book are so-so and pretty uninspiring.However, it really is a sweet story and there's no harm in having this in your collection of kids books.

oh the thinks you can think
I love it because you get to finish fast and their like riming words.I love riming words they always make me interested in the book.they say right and then they change the wordto light.Those are changing words.I love when they put the words they are supossed to put and then they change them.It was a different Dr.Suess book it was "The Thinks You Can Think" it was really incredible.

Very cute book to get your little one to think!
What a cute book!This book greatly inspires little ones to use their imaginations and think up all sorts of things.This book also reminds me of a story in Seuss' book, "I can Lick 30 Tigers Today," in which the Cat-in-the-Hat's daughter uses her imagination to think up a Glunk.That's a pretty funny story too.Anyway, in this tale, there really isn't a storyline at all.Just page after page of silly drawings of things that don't exist mostly (like how much water can 55 purple elephants drink?).My little one recognizes Seuss' drawings and always tells me that's 55 Hortons drinking water!Or, how about "schlopp.Schlopp, schlopp, beautiful schlopp.Beautiful schlopp with a cherry on top."And what on earth is a jibboo anyway?A bird's head on a human body, walking down a dark street?This book is filled with very silly things such as this, none of which make sense, but all of which cause little ones to use their imaginations.It's a great time reading this one aloud and ours gets read nightly.
But can you think as many thinks as Dr. Seuss thinks?

Greatest kids book in our house
This book was a gift and has quickly become a favorite, my favorite. It has beautiful illistrations, some rhyming and lots of imagery. I have given this book as a gift to everyone having a baby!

My son and my favorite book
I bought this book when my son was 11 months old.The cadence of the whole book is wonderful.I've read it slow and I've read it so fast I can't keep up with myself turning the pages.It was quickly a favorite of mine, and when my son was old enough he would get this book from his 'library' and hand it to me.Even now (he's 8) we love this book.He reads it to me.And I love to ask "faster, faster" like he would do when I was reading to him.This spring we planted a strawberry pyramid and 3 blueberry bushes.It was funny that I didn't think of this book when my son said he wanted to plant these.But it makes perfect sense now.This will be a book that is handed down to his children and bought for his nieces and nephews I'm sure.The board book format is so excellent, the book is still in fabulous shape. ... The book starts off at Harry's aunt and uncle's house. Harry goes back to Hogwarts for his second year at school. There is a new character and his name is "Dobby." He is a slave. He does not want Harry Potter to go to Hogwarts. Dobby made it so that Harry could not get on the train so Harry took a flying car. And Dobby made the Blunger in Quitage chase him and break his arm.

A Classic
A classic story, but one that needs some explaining.After all, bullfights aren't really PC these days.If you try not to get too deep, it's still a nice story.

Wonderful Classic Story
I picked this book up at the bookstore about three years ago for my oldest son who at the time was 4 yrs old. He loved this book then and still does now.Also his younger brother who is 3 enjoys this story. I read this to them a few times a week and don't get tired of the story myself either. They think some of the pictures are hilarious.Would highly recommend.

A Classic Story about a Bull named Ferdinand
This is about Ferdinand who was a bull but didn't act very much like a mean, rough bull.The illustrations are in black and white, but they are quite funny (especially the men in the three funny hats). This is a classic story that I read growing up in the early sixties.It is still a good story despite it's age.Parents should read the classics in children's literature to their children.A must read ages 4-8. ... I loved this book as a child, my sister and I would go around saying the tongue twister name over and over!We would try and out do each other by who could say it the fastest.Now she is adopting a beautiful daughter from China and I thought this is the perfect book for my new neice.She will be able to enjoy this fun story of two brothers who not only play well together but help each other when one is in trouble, like falling into a well.It teaches children that even if they are not the first born they are just as special.

When I was in kindergarten, our teacher played the cassette for our class as she turned the pages of the book...letting us hear the story as it unfolded. The Education of Little Tree By: Forrest Carter
This book is about a boy orphaned very young who is adopted by his Cherokee Grandmother and half Cherokee Grandfather in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennesse during the Great Depression. He Grandparents named him Little Tree. He is taught how to hunt and survive the mountains the Cherokee way, taking only what is needed by his Grandfather. He is taught the joys of reading and education by his Grandmother. He also learns the way of white businessmen and tax collectors and how Grandfather scared the away. Little Tree is sent off to an indian boarding school run by whites. We learn of the cruelty of indian children. Little Tree learns how the world differs from the Cherokee way.
The WORST book I ever recorded...
When I was first chosen to narrate this book, I knew nothing of the racist past of it's author -- I knew only that it was the single worst book I'd ever been assigned.The negative AudioFile Magazine review of my recording (quoted here on Amazon) is completely fair.Reading the book to myself in order to prepare to record it, I found it annoying in the extreme -- the so-called prose is precious and poorly written, and the allegedly authentic colloquialisms are grating.When it came time to say it all aloud, for the first time ever (and I've narrated upwards of 200 audiobooks) I found it impossible to invest this piece literary flotsam with any emotional content whatsoever.As declining the job was no longer an option, I merely tried to stay out of the way and give it as simple and logical a performance as I could, but I was unable to compensate for the God awful writing, and unable to disgui
