Editorial Review

Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle has been wildly popular with children and adults for over 50 years. Children adore her because she understands them--and because her upside-down house is always filled with the smell of freshly baked cookies, and her backyard with buried treasure. Grownups love her because her magical common sense solutions to children's problems succeed when their own cajoling and yelling don't. For the child who refuses to bathe, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle recommends letting her be. Wait until the dirt on her body has accumulated to half an inch, then scatter radish seeds on her arms and head. When the plants start sprouting, the nonbather is guaranteed to change her mind about that bath. Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, Mrs. Grassfeather, Mrs. Ragbag...Where does it end?
This book is great. If you ever have a problem with your child's behavior, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle is the one to call. Her outrageous solutions to common child behavior ailments seem to work well.In most cases she recommends letting the child wallow in his or her own awful behavior until rock bottom is reached.Only then is the child aware of the real-life consequences for bad behavior.
5-0 out of 5 stars Mrs. Piggle Wiggle
I really liked Mrs. Piggle Wiggle because there were different stories about her curing people. I have read the stories about her but think this onewas the best. You may think that they take place in different places, but all the children in the stories know each other and the all live in the same town.

4-0 out of 5 stars Family Favorite
Mrs. Piggle Wiggle was 'The Nanny'/'Dr.Phil' of her time. These stories offer parents and children interesting ways to deal with daily chores and struggles that can sometimes seem overwhelming. I enjoyed reading this book as a child and couldn't resist purchasing it for my girls 4 and 2 to enjoy. We have been working our way through various childrens' novels as part of our bedtime ritual. Books like this are good for holding the attention of children at various levels of reading and reading comprehension. These stories have also served as a springboard for discussion in our family about finding creative new ways to accomplish the many tasks that need to be done to keep the household running. Some of the material may seem dated, but it's definetely a classic. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's Magic
I ordered this book for my two nephews, ages 5 and 7, because I had such wonderful, vivid memories of the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle series as a child(I am now 45!); I wanted them to experience it as well. I was an avid reader as a child(I still am)and was exposed to hundreds of titles and have many favorites that I read to my children and Mrs. Piggle Wiggle still stands out in the top 10 and I still get a smile on my face when I remember reading about the little girl that had radishes growing out of the caked on dirt on her arm because she refused to take a bath!

5-0 out of 5 stars "It Rocks"
Mrs. piggle- wiggle is a really good book. It is amazing how she always has a cure for the parent's problem. I liked it when they was supposed to go for a hike and a picnic but it was raining. So they went to her house then she got them to search for treasure. This book is a really good book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's Magic
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's Magic is about an old widow named Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle who has cures for everything! For example: The Interrupters Cure, The Tattletales Cure, and The Never-Want-to-Go-to-Schooler cure. One time Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle had to use her magic on a boy named Christopher. Christopher had the worst table manners in the world!Christopher's mom called Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle to see if she could help. Well, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle had a pig named Lester who had the best manners is the world! So Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle let Mrs. Brown keep Lester for a week.Lester taught Christopher the best table manners in the world!I'm 10 years old and I don't like to read books, but I loved this book! (Parents would too)! ... Read more

This is the last of the four Mrs Piggle-Wiggle books, but it was probably my favourite when I was little - I loved horses as a little girl, and these stories include a pony. My parents read the Mrs Piggle-Wiggle books when they were kids, and these books have been a family tradition.5-0 out of 5 stars A children's classic
I grew up reading the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle series. I loved every single story and I still remember them vividly. They may be a little dated but the lessons are still current and they are still very amusing.

3-0 out of 5 stars Maggie's meaningful review
Hello, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is a humorous book!Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's husband died and left her a trunk of magic cures for children's horrible habits. Parents in town often phone her about their children's bad habits.A few examples of terrible habits are slow poke, whisperer, and bully. For the bully, there are leadership pills, and for the whisperer, there are whisper sticks. They taste like candy, but you can only whisper after you eat one.For the slow poke you spray on their clothing. Will the cures work?" I recommend this book for young girls, because I think it's best suited for their maturity," I said.

5-0 out of 5 stars memories of my childhood
I love the Piggle-Wiggle books! I was first introduced to the seres when my third grade teacher read them to the class. I have enjoyed reading them to my own students since then...Children love hearing about the different tales and adventures of the children who are friends of Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle! The stories come alive for all people who hear these stories because it's so easy to relate to. I think we all can remember a time when we had trouble interrupting or not cleaning up after ourselves!!!! These stories are a true treasure!!

I loved reading the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books as a child, and I loved reading "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle", "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle's Magic", and "Hello, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle" again in this wonderful collection. The only problem is that "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle's Farm" is not included.

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD BOOK FOR BATH TIME
[...]I must give this book 5 stars. It's intended to get your stubborn child to take a bath all the while using a little HUMOR.It was my husbands aunt, Betty McDonald who wrote this book, so perhaps I am partial, but I still don't think anyone since has been able to write books like Betty did. 1-0 out of 5 stars Wash This Book Away!
Nasty Patsy won't take a bath.Instead of doing the normal thing with stern reprimands; reasoning and that age old method involving soap and water, the stupid thing's parents call in Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle.She suggests planting seeds in the dirt that has accumulated on the nasty girl. Before long, Nasty Patsy is sprouting all flora and vegetables and this is far from being a palatable story. This has been one of my least favorites since childhood. It is the worst Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle story.Ugh!

5-0 out of 5 stars great shortened version of an old classic
This is one of the funniest stories about Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle.What is a parent to do when your child does not want to take a bath? Why let them stay dirty-so dirty in fact that one can plant seeds on them.Mrs.Piggle-Wiggle tells the frusterated parents to plant radish seeds on theirdirt-encrusted daughter.Magically the seeds grow over-night to theastonishment of the little girl. After submitting to a bath she enjoys theradishes that she grew.A hilarious take on the old You-Can't-Make-Merountine. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Fond Memories
I never had anyone read this to me.I stumbled upon it during library time at good old Woodmore Elementary in Bowie MD.I bet it's still there.I loved this book from the moment I opened it.I loved the story, the hard cover, the size of the book, the way the old brittle pages felt as I turned the pages, and even the way the old pages smelled in 1974 (the book had been out for about 20 years by then I guess).I checked it out over and over again and now I hope to read it to my 7 year old.I know she'll love it too.I'm thrilled to see it available on Amazon because you can't get it in our local library and even the used book store in town has given me the shrug.Yay Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
My 2nd grade teacher was the first person to share this story with me. I heard it again on an audio tape in 3rd grade. It's such a cute story, and I'm glad to see that it's in stock. (Must run to go ask dad if I can get it!)
