Mystery at Lake Placid - a 32 year old reader
I enjoyed this book alot. Although I am 32 years old, I still enjoy reading the stuff that kids today read. I think it was definitely worth the read.

My older boys love this series!My oldest has been playing travel hockey for 10 years (he's 17).He started reading the Screech Owls when he was 10 years old, but when our 2nd son started reading them several years ago, and newer stories were written, I'd catch Nicholas reading them, too (literally only taking minutes to polish it off!).Our 2nd boy doesn't play hockey (golf and tennis), but he truly enjoys the series.He already put all the news Screech Owl books on his Christmas list for this year. Murder at Hockey Camp
The Screech Owls travel to cottage country for summer hockey camp. The owner is a bully and Muck has to tell him not to mess with the Screech Owls. The next morning a body is found in the boathouse. Muck is being blamed. What are the Screech Owls going to do?

Buyer Beware:Inappropriate for young readers!
I am very disappointed in the Auther and Amazon for the inclusion of adult themes in what appeared to be a safe and age appropriate Hockey themed series for young readers. Very Exciting
This book kept me turning the pages I was so excited about how Roy MacGregor uses suspense in his novels and this one is no different. Very good read.

Quebec Rocks! I just don't get the hockey...
Quebec City Crisis was a book that I enjoyed, even though I do not like hockey. I rate it four stars because, being a non-hockey player, I do NOT get the hockey games they play. Roy MacGregor forges books that are both mystery and hockey.
Great Book Again In This Series
The tounrament where some famous hockey stars like Mario Lemieux, Guy Lafleur and Wayne Gretzky first showed the world their talents. Now it is time for the Screech Owls to do the same. The dream trip turns into a nightmare. Travis is asked by a newspaper to keep a diary and someone sabotoged it. The fans start booing them and the Screech Owls must find a way to find the culprit. Will they find him in time?

I think......
I think this book is excellent, i have read all the screech owl books in order up to this one, except i read Nightmare in Nagano before this cuz that wuz the only one my friends had that i had cuz we had to do a report. I haven't finished the book yet but i will be finished the book at the end of the month. I love Roys books and i absolutly adore the way he describes the hockey games that the Owls play (i play hockey in real life). I love the way roy has hockey and mystery genre into one book and how all of his mysterys actually make sense after all the hockey games and investigations. I love the mysterys and i plan to read the rest of the owls books (even if i can't keep up with the pace they are being made). Thanks roy for the many great books! Keep reading and never stop writing all those books that i adore soo much. Read more

Very Great Book

The Ghost of Lord Stanley

Good Hockey Book
The Screech Owl's home town is in the perfect setting. Blanketed with snow and topped with a layer of ice. Travis wishes that these two days would last forever. By the end of the weekend he wishes they never began. Somewhere in their town their is a criminal that is hiding and the Screech Owl's must find him and bring him to justice.
