5-0 out of 5 stars We love Morris!
My 6-yr-old son loves Morris the Moose and this book was just as funny as the first one.Morris gets confused because he can't read or count, so he goes to school. My son can read it himself and always laughs out loud at Morris' silly antics.Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Morris makes reading fun
Couldn't help but put my 2 cents in here.My 3 year old daughter was given this book about a month ago and we've read it at least 5 times a week since.5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for beginning readers
"Morris the Moose Goes to School" is a fun story that kids enjoy reading and listening to. I remembered reading and loving the book from when I was a child, so I bought the book for my own children. It has been a great book to use in teaching them how to read, because it holds their interest, they want to read it because it is funny. " ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Story, Great Illustrations
My aunt in Australia sent this book for my daughter's 1st Christmas and it has become one of my favorites to read. Since my daughter is only 5 months old, I try to find books with nice simple sentences (not too wordy) and captivating pictures. This book is beautifully illustrated with unusual animals and tells a sweet story. My daughter enjoys it, and from my perspective, it's much more interesting than a lot of baby books--important since I read it over and over again.
5-0 out of 5 stars *ThoseMesmerizingEyes&ASpecialEasterEgg*
How could I have missed HUNWICK until now? He is a rabbit-eared Bandicoot, one of an endangered species, familiarly known in Australia as the BILBY. *Aussie* reviewer "LIN" won me over by suggesting that "Hunwick's Egg" would be a great Easter gift. Hunwick and his mysterious egg become very special friends but the egg does not hatch.
5-0 out of 5 stars Hunwick's Egg
A wonderful story of devotion! Mem Fox continues to be one of my favorite children's story tellers. Hunwick is a sweet little creature who remains loyal in spite of others' misgivings. The use of so many animals strange to the Americas makes the book even more wonderful, with delightful pictures to help with the story. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE HIPPOS TOO
This is a neat kids book, and the illustrations are priceless. I gave it only four stars because the words to the song in the book don't match the words in the actual song. As a matter of fact, the words in the line about the garage don't even make sense to me. If you don't have the original record by Gayla, then this probably won't make any difference to you. You will still enjoy the book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Educational and Entertaining
My children, ages 5 and 3, and I love this Dr. Seuss style educational book.It is filled with lots of facts about mammals and distinguishs between mammals and non-mammals.The beginning of the book tells thereader that mammals breathe air, are warm to the touch and grow hair.Therest of the book illustrates these three characteristics.I particularilyliked the page which shows that mammals can live in different types ofenvironments, "Mammals live on cold mountains and hot, burning sand, down deep in the oceans or out on dry land."The ending is delightfulas the child learns that she is a mammal, too. Finally, I enjoyed thisbook because it included a glossary of terms and suggestions for furtherreading on the subject of mammals. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Step Into Reading level 3: Dolphins: Great book, but not the best level
You can call me StoryMaker. Step into Reading: Dolphins is a great book that teaches how dolphins are intellegent and have their own personalities. It's a great book, but they rate it level 3. Step into Reading's level 3 seems too easy for a level 3. More like a level 2. Of course, SIR has lots of levels, but people might think that it will help their 2nd grader read. It probably won't. Overall, a great book about dolphins' reactions with people, but remember, it might not be as challenging as you suspected. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

4-0 out of 5 stars A picture book, people's interactions with dolphins
This is a great book for reading to 4-6 year olds.It talks aboutinteresting stories about dolphins and people. An example: 2 pages coverhow a man played with a dolphin in captivity by throwing a ring to thedolphin, and 2 years later, the dolphin recognized the same man and threwthe ring to him.The book talks about how dolphins are intelligent andeach have different personalities, how they like people, and things likethat. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have Childrens Book
I got this book for my son 2 years ago and since then this book is read every night before bed. My son LOVES the part with the silly faces and the mud the character plays with. I often buy this book for friends when they have a child and it is a quick favorite for everyone I have given it to.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best Christmas book ever
I love this book.I read it to my Sunday school class every year (preschool & kindergarteners) -- I still get teared up when the camel arrives at the manger...it is so touching and awe inspiring! The children are completely entranced by the story -- no one stirs as we read the story -- even the 3 year olds will be still with their little jaws open.
5-0 out of 5 stars A Christmas Favorite
A proud camel is selected to accompany the Magi described in Matthew to carry gifts for Jesus. He tries to get out of the journey (he has other commitments), but is convinced otherwise by some sand-blowing voices. As his journey continues, so does his burden, as gifts are added to his back.A young child even adds a straw for the baby's bed, that, well, I don't want to spoil the ending ("Will this straw cause me to fall?").5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Story for Christmas!
This is such a wonderful book! Every year I look for a special book to share with my family, this year it will be The Last Straw. It is a humorous tale that also teaches a valuable lesson about humility. The Last Straw isright up there with Santa Calls and The Red Ranger Came Calling. I highlyrecommend this book! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Inspirational Tale
This story provides a way for children and parents alike to put in simple terms the complex feelings which arise with chronic illnesses and disorders. For children too young to discuss their feelings, this book voices the fears they cannot express with words.I recommend this book to all children who must face illness, whether it be chronic or temporary.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fabulous Treat
Henry and the White Wolf is an extraordinary fable and a must-read for families with, and without, young loved ones who are ill.Beautifully written and illustrated, this magical little story offers hope and healing for children undergoing difficult medical procedures. The accompanying smooth pebble and the book are treasures to be held onto in time of sickness and in health.Enjoy this enchanting tale of strength, hope, and dignity.

I purchased this book for my first grade classroom. We do a unit of study on the elements of a non-fiction text. The Time for Kids books are wonderful for this unit. They have terrific pictures (which the kids love), and many elements of a non-fiction text, such as labeling, comparisions, captions, glossary, types of print, etc.I would highly recommend this book - really all of the time for kids books - to those looking for appropriate non-fiction books for a first grade classroom. The level 1 and 2 books are most appropriate. ... This story has a delightful message about the power we have to influence others, even if that influence is out of our awareness. Always a joy to read...

4-0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Book on Community and Relationships
I purchased this book (among many on here) for my unit on whales and the Inuit (Eskimo) people for my first grade class. This was a great book to share the relationship the people have with whales. It also shared a wonderful way the communities work together as well. What a great book! If you like whales, this is a great one to read to children!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Surprising
Although technically a children's book, "A Symphony of Whales" shook me up and blew me away with rich illustrations and an even more potent story.Sweet and simple, author Schuch tells the beautiful story of an Inuit girl and her whale spirit friend "Narna" -- and (not to give away the ending) the dramatic escape of three thousand whales trapped in an icy inlet of the Pacific ocean.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great series
Great series for young and old looking for a mental shut-down for bed book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the best Rewall novel, but still a solid read with compelling characters and exciting climax. Recomended
The fifth Redwall novel, Salamandastron is the story of a badger maid, a blue-eyed ferret, and a plague at Redwall. Mara is a young badger maid who escapes her home, Salamandastron, and her overbearing adoptive father. As Mara begins her quest throughout Mossflower country, meeting up with Guosssom shrews and members from Redwall, Salamandastron falls under attack by a disarming, ruthless blue-eyed ferret. Meanwhile, a young squirrel named Samkim leaves Redwall in pursuit of the sword of Martin the Warrior. Giving us our first clear look at Salamandastron and the Long Patrol, Salamandastron expands the world of the Redwall novels yet again. The adventures and battles manage to be both realistic and exciting, and the strong-willed characters are compelling and show a lot of growth within the course of the book. While not particularly outstanding, this is one of the better and perhaps more famous Redwall novels and I recommend it and enjoy rereading it.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awsome Book, But Just A Little Behind Some Of The Others
I've read the whole series at least once, and I think some of the other books in the series, such as, Mattimeo, Pearls Of Lutra, The Taggurang and Mossflower are a little bit better. This one is just a bit to sad for my tastes. I hate it how Urthstripe dies before Mara can say that she loved him. Still, a very good book. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Lovely Art - a review of "Raccoons and Ripe Corn"
I've gotten this book from the library twice; once when my children were younger and again now that they are 4 and 6 (boy and girl). Both times this book has failed to capture their imaginations(or in other words they didn't ask for repeat readings like they do for other books).
5-0 out of 5 stars Beautiful!
