3-0 out of 5 stars Mrs. Leppard... are you ok?
I thought the book setting was boring. Unlike all the other Mandie books, this one happened to be SOOOO boring! it skipped around so much and nothing really happened. yes I like the new romance look of things, but everything else was so drole! And it took forever to get published. I hope Leppard gets her game back to the top!
4-0 out of 5 stars A Grown Up Mandie
Okay, as with most reviewers, I've been reading Mandie for years. I was ready for her to finally start acting her age. And Ms. Leppard must have been to.

4-0 out of 5 stars A GREAT Book!!! :) :)
I loved this book! Mandie, Celia, one of her best friends, and Jonathanfind a new mystery in Holland. Mandie and her friends find something very interesting about the windmill. The windmill seems to give off weird messages throughout the day. Could this be just a harmless prank or is someone really in trouble? Then there is the mystery about the blue paint turning to green. Could Jonathon be part of it? Mandie meets new people including the miller's son, who seems to like Mandie. But when Mandie and her friends ask the miller about the weird signs on the windmill, he storms out of the room! What could all of this mean? Read to find out! I'm sure you'll enjoy this book! :) :)

4-0 out of 5 stars My Review
My mystery book that I chose was `'Mandy and the Mysterious Fisherman'' In this book two girls named Mandie and Celia, and a boy named Jonathan. They are visiting Europe and they come across a wharf and it has a very old deserted looking boat. So of course, the three go after the boat but when they get near it they always hear a creepy, moaning noise. One night they find someone in the boat and they also see someone talking to the man and they find out his name is Alex. Then they think they have found a criminal, not Alex but the man that was talking to him. Indeed they are right. So all in all, they helped Alex and they got the criminal in jail and it was all because of Mandie, Celia and Jonathan.
4-0 out of 5 stars My Review
I think this book was great. One reason I liked it is I could see myself doing some of the things that Mandie was doing. So really I could relate to the book alot.

3-0 out of 5 stars That's is right
I really agrea with most of the above readers. This book was a disapointment.I thought that questions in the story weren't really answered too.I don't mean to give you the wrong idea the other Mandie books are awsome. It almost seamed as if this book was written in a rush. And they ate chocolate cake on every page and I'm sick of it.
3-0 out of 5 stars Mandie #39 not so good....
I was sad because this Mandie book wasn't very good and I didn't really enjoy it.Mandie's beloved school teacher, Miss Hope, is missing, which sounds like a great mystery, but nothing really happens. There is no real plot, and the ending happened very quickly, then it was over.Mandie didn't seem really determined to solve this as much as she did other mysteries. There are one or two subplots that are not solved or given complete reason for at the end, so they didn't really fit in and could have been left out.And if Mandie is going to college soon, then she REALLY needs to grow up!I am sooo tired of Snowball!Mandie needs to shut the cat up in the cellar or something. And since Mandie and Joe are really growing up (and since #40 is the LAST book)they REALLY needed to get closer, which didn't happen.I'm getting tired of Joe and the whole "chocolate cake" thing, because it's really getting childish.Overall, I didn't think this Mandie book was nearly as well written as others. But I very sad that #40 is the last book (isnt' it?) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Mandie and the Jumping Juniper (Book 18#)
Mandie and her friends are on their way to Germany to visit the Baroness Geissler. But their journey gets off to a bad start when their carriage breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Mandie and Senator Morton are forced to go and find another carriage. That's just one of the bizarre things that happen during their stay. But the weirdest one of all is when they all see a juniper tree...jumping! And on top of that, the baroness's grandson is cold and unfriendly, so they can't get any information out of him. But Mandie has reason to suspect that he's hiding something from them. But what? Find out in this exciting book!5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books ever!

3-0 out of 5 stars #30 is ssooo sad!!!! and good
The plot is about a missing turkey, which didn't really appeal to me, but otherwise the book was good. The end made me hungry for the next book!!!!If the mystery weren't so boring, this would be one of the best Mandie books ever.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is SSSOOOO good!!!
Mandie and the Long Good-Bye is probably the best Mandie book I've read.Joe is going off to college, but Mandie tries to put it off for as long as possible. A turkey is missing from the kitchen oven, so Mandie, Joe, Jonathan and Sallie search for it (along with the annoying neighbor Polly).Suddenly Dr.Woodard, Joe's dad, disappears, and things get more serious. No matter what Mandie does, she knows that soon Joe is really leaving. The ending leaves you DIEING for the next book and an answer to a question!

4-0 out of 5 stars Should have been called 'Mandie and the Turkey Theft'
Joe will be leaving for collage soon, and Mandie tries to put off the parting as much as she can. But things start looking even darker when Dr. Woodard disappears along with the Thanksgiving turkey. This time Joe puts no restrictions on her, seeing as the missing person is his father.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I don't Know why it has gotten such bad reveiws!
This book, to me was a very good book. Now, some people have been saying that it wasn't much of a mystery, and no, not as you would think it would be, but it was a mystery about what was behind the tunnel door, and I am very interested in what she found in what she found(yes, I did mean to put that 2 times, it wasn't a typo) in the secret door in the tunnel. I think that it was a very good book and I loved it!!

5-0 out of 5 stars i was great
the book was great i just think they should let Joe and Mandie have some time alone i mean they are such a cute couple but Lois never lets them talk alone anymore!its like she doesnt actualy want them to get married but she keeps making them talk about it and stuff with Johnathon and Ceilya! They need to be alone! My fav part of the book tho is when Johnathon says he is going to mary Mandie and Joe olmost dies. But youll probobly think i am a dork but when mandie started to scream when she found the grave i actualy screamed i mean...i didnt expect to get that cought up in the book...

4-0 out of 5 stars Hidden Past
I agrea with most of the below readers. What is Lois Glady leppard doing! I love most of the Mandie books. Yet ever since Mandie and the Dark Alley ( which was the worst Mandie book in the world! ) the books have gone down hill. It seems that in Lois's aim to make Mandie act older she is making her lose her personality! Mandie doesn't do anything interresting anymore. If any of you have read the Graduation mystery you know that the only mystery was that her dress went missing and like I couldn't guess who took it! Personally I'm so sick of reading about April Snow! I never liked the books with her in them in the first place and now she is going to the same collage as Mandie. I could scream! Oh yay, back to the Hidden Past. This book wasn't tooo bad. It was a little bit slow but over all I LIKED IT. I really liked the part when Jonathan and Joe are fighting over who she is going to marry. I really reccomend this book to you. It not quite as good as some of the Mandie books but not as bad either. I hope you find it interresting. THe ending is a total suprise! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This book will surprise even the most seasoned Mandie reader
Mandie is back in school, but things are different. Miss Prudence and Miss Hope are selling the school, and there is a possibility that if the school changes headmistresses, Celia might be sent to a different school. On top of that, Polly, Mandie's conniving neighbor is at school with them!5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
This book is absolutely so wonderful! It is a must-read!

5-0 out of 5 stars A captivating mystery
Hi!I'm 14, and my name is Virginia Sulpy.I consider myself a sort of expert at critiquing Mandie books, since I have read every single one ofthem at least 5 times. This book is very good, and provides quite a bit of mystery.Someone is doing awful things, like putting the headmistress's private files about the school in Mandie's and her friend's room.Mandie gets caught a few times putting them back, and she even gets suspended. One of the mysterious things that is going on is that her grandmother is not home, which is unusual. It turns out that she had been looking for Hilda, a deranged girl who Mandie found. Then to stir things up even more, the students at the school are planning to protest against the potential buyers of the school.Thier plans are cut short by the news of President McKinley, who was shot. This story is very realistic, and the author has had a field day of desciption.Looking at the other books in the series, this one does not tend to stick in your mind. However, don't pass this one by!!!THANK YOU, MRS LEPPARD! Keep it up! ... Read more

This is my favorite Mandie book. I absolutely love it. I love it that Mandie is in a mystery back home in Charlie gap(with Joe). The mystery that someone is writing on the chalkboard at school is so neat. And then Joe gets blaimed for it. It so suprising who is really doing it. I never expected it.

4-0 out of 5 stars The New Girl Review
The New Girl5-0 out of 5 stars Neighborly Love
This book gives us a glimps of what neighborly love and kindness use to be like. The character, Mandie, has a sweet heart and curious nature. There is a new girl in town, and Mandie is set on making friends with her. The setting is a small rural town. The story was like reading a "LittleHouse on the Prairie" saga. I was surprised the way the book took offin an unsuspected twist. The book is a quick and interesting read. My 7& 10 year old daughters liked it so much, they have asked for the nextbook, "The Mystery at Miss Abigail's". I liked the book becauseit showed my girls a compassionate way to help a family. ...
