5-0 out of 5 stars breastfeeding dolphins!
This is a beautiful book, and very pro breastfeeding!
5-0 out of 5 stars Dolphins
This book is about dolphins. A baby doilphin is born. The book tells how the mother dolphin has a baby. First the baby dolphin's tail comes out. Then his head comes out too. Then it tells how a baby dolphin is protected by its family. My favorite part was when the baby dolphin was born. I think other kids will like this book because they will learn about dolphins.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dolphin (An I Can Read Book)
A super book for the early reader.Focuses on the adventures of a baby dolphin, born at the beginning of the book.Combines his wonder of discovering the world around him with the comfort of knowing his mother isclose at hand.Parents should be cautioned that the little dolphin isattacked by a shark at one point in the book, but the pod works together tosave him.A very happy ending follows quickly and serves as a greatdiscussion tool. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Encantado: A great book for kids!
This is a marvelous book for your kid, your nephew or niece, your grandchild.5-0 out of 5 stars Encantado
Encantado guides readers on an amazing Amazonian journey, ostensibly to ferret out information on pink dolphins. Montgomery, however, is fishing for young conservationists! Her enthusiasm, glorious descriptions and hilarious comments disguise the fact that Encantado is not only a beautiful, information-packed picture book, it also represents a very real problem in a very real place that is vitally important to all of us. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good Story, Unlikable Main Character
"Dolphin Diaries" mixes a typical teen adventure story with a unique and educational story about a girl who loves dolphins. But that's just the problem!Jody is so obsessed, that I find myself gravitating more toward Brittany, who is supposed to be the snobby girl. It's just so sickening how Jody can't have any fun without it involving dolphins!I actually find myself mentally cheering for Brittany when she makes a remark such as "Is dolphins the ONLY thing you can think about?".

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost Magical
Jody, her family, and the crew aboard "Dolphin Dreamer" are thrilled as, after weeks at sea, they reach the beautiful and exciting Marquesas Islands. With so much to see and do, everyone is feeling energized and ready for what lies ahead. But while each person seems to have a different idea of "fun" on the islands, one thing is and has always been the main focus: dolphins.Especially for Jody, who has just befriended a spinner dolphin whom she named "Twister".
5-0 out of 5 stars If You Love Dolphins and want to know more about them,
read this book. I read this series two summers ago when my friend loaned them to me. I was sick most of the summer. Even though I was stuck inside, the books took my mind to out on the ocean, and before I knew it, I felt like I was there swimming and learning about dolphins myself.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sparks Interest in Octopuses at Young Ages
I checked this book out for my 4 year old (and 2 year old twins) since our booklist recommended it for studying the letter "o".We thought it was interesting and fabulous. We enjoyed the illustrations and the facts. We happened to have also checked out an octopus puppet with which we made up our own stories based on the facts we learned from the book.I found it interesting enough that I guess I hadn't realized that there wasn't a plot.I guess fact is better than fiction!

5-0 out of 5 stars Octopus's Garden
I liked this book because I learned alot of facts. The pictures were really cool and I liked learning how they disguise themselves and how the mother octopus lays here eggs near her den where she can watch them.It is sad because she dies after the babies hatch. I recommmend this book for all ages.

3-0 out of 5 stars some amazing facts, but visually dull.
Lauber's _An Octopus is Amazing_ is a decent introductory book on the topic, probably best suited to children aged 4-8.There are no photographs. The book is illustrated on each page with color drawings. The drawing on the book cover is indicative of the quality of the drawings throughout. It's a bit cartoonish.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Dolphin Adveture A True Story

4-0 out of 5 stars A Memorable Story
I am now 20 years old and haven't read this book since Elementary school.Today, I randomly found the book on Amazon and the familiar first edition hardcover. I don't know how old I was when I first read it, but I independently borrrowed it from the library at least 3 different times and enjoyed reading it every time.I've always remembered, foremost, the cleverness of the Dolphins and the anxiety and relief I felt every time I read the scenes with the sharks or the baby being unhooked.I would say Dolphin Adventure has made a positive and lasting impression upon me and that every animal-loving child should read it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Book
I bought this book to for my younger one to learn. My older one picked up the books immediately and started reading them to the younger one because they both love the Backyardigans.Eventually I know the younger one will be learning the words since he is starting to pick up the connections.I like the layout of the each of the 12 books with the emphasis on each sound.(Long E, Short E, Long O, Short O etc.).Because the stories are pretty short, the story line can be a little abrupt, but the phonics are very clear in the books. I really like the books and would make great gifts too. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars could have been better
"Stranded" is about a girl in seventh grade living on a boat. Before the book starts, she was in an accident that cost her her right foot.Koby feels that the other kids at her school treat her differently than everybody else because instead of a foot, she now has a mechanical strap-on leg she calls her "leggy".If you're grossed out easily, I wouldn't recommend this book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Stranded
The main character of this book was a girl named Koby who loved ocean. Koby meets lot of difficulties with her parents fighting and arguing over and over again. Koby is a girl that thinks that she is alone. In her mind she thinks everybody at her school hates her because she got into an accident that made her lose a right foot that had to be replaced by a wood in a form of a foot. She had many troubles along the way to the end by how she had a wooden foot. Koby lost her foot when she was eight years old but this story is about her when she is now twelve.
4-0 out of 5 stars Review od Stranded
Koby, a young girl, has to live her life missing a foot and having parents that fight all the time, often about her, and to top it all off, she has no friends. The only thing that can set her free is dinghy and being out on the open ocean. But when Koby finds herself stranded with two pilot whales, her life changes greatly.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Book Yet
After a while, the stories of Jody's dolphin adventures on the blue sea, which all seem to be slightly similar to one another, can be become rather boring. That is why this book is so entertaining!Imagine Jody, cruising down the colorful-but-dangerous Amazon river with her family and friends, in search of rare dolphins that, for once, don't befriend Jody right away as though they've known her all their lives.I could hardly put this book down until the time when I finished it, and couldn't help wishing that it wasn't over yet.I highly recommend this book if you have finished the fifth one, and I recommend this series to girls who love originality and adventure!
