I read this book in just a few hours. The main character (Em) just grabbed me and I couldn't help but keep reading. The book is written in a rather spontaneous way, bouncing between Em's inner thoughts, dialogue, and narration. Though a bit hard to follow, at times, this writing style allows the reader to really feel for Em.

4-0 out of 5 stars Abruptly different in mood and style from its prequel...
Having read "Silver" as a young teen, I couldn't resist picking up the sequel when I discovered it well into my twenties. I loved the world that Sarabeth and her mother inhabited. Although they were poor, and struggled through every day, they had a special bond that no one could match.
4-0 out of 5 stars Girlhearts Rocks!
Girlhearts, by Norma Fox Mazer is a teary eyed story about Sarabeth Silver who goes through the pain of a lost loved one.On the last night of the life of her mother, they played in the rain having a wonderful time. The next thing poor Sarabeth knew, her mom had died of a heart attack.Sarabeth goes through depression, sadness, and is now living with the neighbors. This story is about losing someone and being able to cope with it.
4-0 out of 5 stars Girlhearts by Norma Fox Mazer
"Come on, Sarabeth. Drink the rain!" my mother said. This is probably the most memorable sentence in the story, Girlhearts by Norma Fox Mazer. What makes this the most memorable sentence is that, who in the world would drink the rain? It is completely absurd, but this absurdity suddenly crashes down with Sarabeth's mother in the hospital.

4-0 out of 5 stars Don'tjugde a book by its cover
Silver is a good book for young adults. This book talks about a young girl who's mom is a house keeper. She goes to a new Middle school where the rich kids go to. At first she feels uncomfortableat the school she attends because she didn't know nobody there but then she starts getting friends. Frinds that have painful secrets. This book is about how teenagers help each other in different situations. As a 15 year old I feel that this book was for younger girls than 15 but it really was interesting.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to relate to Sarabeth
As a young teen, I loved Silver, and must've reread it a dozen times! Sarabeth is a wonderfully realistic character, and it's easy to imagine the awkwardness she feels at bridging the gap between life in a trailer with her mom, and the classmates who've known nothing but the rich life. But, as Sarabeth soon discovers, there are problems in everyone's lives, and money can't make them go away...in fact, sometimes it even makes things worse.

5-0 out of 5 stars when we first met
[...]This book was a film it was an HBO after school special that I saw when I was about twelve years old ( twenty years ago),and it was awesome. I was actually online trying to see if I could locate the VHS version of the movie. So I'm quite sure the book was just as beautiful as the movie.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
When I first read this book earlier this year ... I thought it would be sappy. The title itself is a turn off. There are a few cheesy parts but overall it is a great read.I am the type of person who is easily sick over mushy stuff.I love romance novels but they have to be realistic.I found all of the romantic parts adorable. They were sweet but not overly so.I wish this would be made into a film.It would be one of the few good teen movies.I hope this review was helpful.

5-0 out of 5 stars Who said Shakespeare only writes star-crossed?
When I first read this book, I HAD to go back and read it again. The story is about how a teenager's world is shattered. She falls in love with this guy who is perfect for her.She later discovers that this guy's last name is Montana and is rlated to the woman who killed her sister in drunnk driving accident. As a matter of fact it is his mother.Their world when they are together is peaceful and calm, while at home, Jenny's family is still coping with death. While reading the book I was thinking will she give up Rob for her family? If you read this book, and I recommend you do, then you will find out the answer to this question. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Today
I remembered this book after all these years, because today IS Saturday: the Twelfth of October...5-0 out of 5 stars Still Remember this Book after all these Years
I read this book long ago in the 6th grade. The school librarian wanted me to review a "new book" she had gotten in and see if the students would like it.I loved it.Read it time and again. Then it went out of print and I haven't been able to find it since. But this story has always stuck with me, and I rank it up there with Heinlein, McCaffrey, Eddings, Lackey, and L'Engle.A fine book to share with my son and daughter.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply a wonderful book...
I read this book long ago, but it has stayed in my memory ever since. The premise of a girl slipping into a parallel universe is both exciting and frightening.Norma Fox Mazer has a true gift for eloquent description and believable fantasy.Kids will love the book, but I guarantee that adults will also be hard pressed not to read it again and again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars An interesting connection between an excellent book and an excellent movie
I have now read this book at least sevent times and am working on memorizing it. I have read a lot of kidnapping stories and this one is honestly the best one out there if you're looking for one from the victim's point of view. (It even touches upon the parent's point of view a little bit near the end.)
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK
I read this book in school, I thought it would be boring because I am into Sci-Fi Books.Really I enjoyed it. Day by day my class read it and during the middle I wondered if the boy and his friends would escape safely. If you want to know you have to read it for yourselves.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've read it at least four times!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars An Exciting and Intriguing Read
This book was a terrific read with many suspenseful moments within. It's about a young girl (Terri) who has always lived with her father and thinks her mother is not alive. However, they are always moving from one place to another. This makes Terri very suspicious about who her father really is. She believes that her father kidnapped her from her mother and is just not telling her where she is. Norma Fox Mazer writes the story well enough so that readers will actually be able to put themselves in Terri's place, especially with all of the decisions she has to make along the way. This book is definitely a book I would recommend to young adults. This is because the author really puts into perspective what it would be like to move all of the time and believe your father might have done something in the past that has affected you, is affecting you, and will affect you. This is overall an exciting and intriguing read that is great for a wide variety of people.

4-0 out of 5 stars taking teri muller
Taking teri nuller was a really good book.At first it was boring but then it got intresting int middle and the end.5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book
Taking Terri Mueller has been the best mystery book I have ever read. I enjoyed it greatly, especially because I could not imagine if that happened to me, I don't know if I would have reacted the same way she did. The only personin her life that she loved and trusted ( her father) had kidnapped her and lied to her about her mother still being alive. It has a great twist to it and I find that is what makes this book appealing to teenager readers like myself. There are not many mystery book that I think teenagers enjoy, but I think they would this one. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Out of Control
I've read other books by this author and normally I'm impressed, but after working for over a year with anger management teens, I can tell you that this author left out a lot of holes in her plot. Teens do not suddenly snap into violence, there is a reason behind. If this book was written more from Brig's point of view, showing the reason to why he got to this point rather then just saying he didn't like her, it would be much better. Rollo and Candy followed their friend without thinking of the consequences, Brig had the actual reason. She did a good job showing Valerie's emotions, but other then that, there were too many holes for me to enjoy this book or actually say it was an accurate description of teen anger. Because Rollo wasn't the one with the anger - Brig was.

4-0 out of 5 stars great read--by z.m.
Valerie's on the third floor of her school. Everyone in the school is in the assembly except her, Rollo, Brig and Candy. Valerie's looking out of the window when the three boys com up behind her they grab her and she twists and turns to get free but it happened too fast for her to get away she screams and screams but no one is there to help.1-0 out of 5 stars The Dumbing Down of Our Teens?

I liked the characters in this story precisely because they were different.Much is said about diversity these days but in reality we have very little tolerance for people who are different than the TV images thatcreate us.But sometimes necessity forces us into unlikely alliances andonce we get close enough to know one another...really, we can begin tocare.Hopefully this story will encourage readers to look more kindly onthose living at the edges of our society and take the risk of knowing them. ... This book is about a girl named Toni Chessmore. She thought that she always had a perfect life. She had a best friend, who she loved and cared for dearly. Her parents had always gotten along very well or so she thought. Until one day, her dad had a heartattack. He had to go see a specialist. Toni had to go stay with her sister, Martine,in New York for a while. One day Martine told Toni a secret about their parents. She told Toni that her parents had not always been perfect...You will have to read the rest of the book to find out what happens. It is a very interesting book, so go read it today.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite books as a teenager
I loaned this book to a friend when I was young and never got it back. I may have to buy it again just for nostalgia. It was a wonderful coming-of-age read, a la the infamous Forever, by Judy Blume.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ragin' book
This book was really good! The title might detour some people but it really captures what it's like to be a teenager and how it seems like your parents are totally against you on some things but they mean well.I wouldgive it a 5 out of 5 even though some parts could be better written.Pickthis one up at your library! It's worth your time!

B my name is Bunny was an absolutely histerical book! It's about a seventh grade girl and her adventures with a crazy grandmother, an overly shy friend, and a highschool boy.I loved this book and I would reccomend it to any girl who likes to laugh.
