2-0 out of 5 stars Lacked Many memorable Moments
This is a book that read like it was written by a twelve-year old.Janet Mcnaughton is defintely not a burgeoning teen, but she did write this for such a youthful age group.Though I'm 23 years old, I still enjoy teen books because there's geat moral lessons or just great general story telling. But it all lacked in this re-telling of Tam Lin.
4-0 out of 5 stars My grade: A!
An earthly knight is a wonderfully written book. It is about a lady who is more free than most ladys (who are the daughters of minor dukes). Almost ignored by the wealthy because it was her older sister who was a prominant member of society, that is, untill she is "led astray." Suddenly, the burden transfers from the older daughter, Isabelle, to the younger, Jeanette. Can she stand "pure" for the earl? Or will she find true love??

5-0 out of 5 stars A enchanting medieval treat
Jenny Avenel is the daughter of a (somewhat) wealthy landowner. After her sister is disgraced by a wayward knight, it falls to Jenny to make a marriage with a powerful man to benefit her family. As sweet, kind and beautiful as she is, she is considered as a potential match for the King's own brother, Earl William.Jenny tries to impress him, but the arrogant man cares little for her and her feelings. At the same time, Jenny finds herself falling in love with Tam Lin, the man whose family once lived in Carter Hall, which is now her dowry. She is forbidden to have anything to do with him, because he is rumored to have connections with the fairies. As the cruel Earl closes in, Jenny finds herself trying to protect her sister, and still stay with Tam Lin.WHen he reveals that he may have to return to the realm of the fairies forever, she is heartbroken. When Tam Lin's staying becomes a matter of her life or death, and of their eternal souls, will Jenny be able to save them both and avoid Earl William to find true love with Tam? ... 4-0 out of 5 stars brave jack and the unicorn
i give it a 4 because...even tho it is an award winning book..it reflects back on pass childrens story books..i suppose it's like any artistic approach...one may get ideas from other pictures. or novels.. or..etc etc. i'm not particularly fond of viewing animals or people hurting other animals or people...for children's viewing...as is in this one with the rabbit...the overall view of it is..mythical, biblical, and modern...even tho it seems to be created from these points...it is well "put together" so to speak. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars This Book is awesome. I love it!!!!
It was an awesome book. It mixed two different worlds aristocrat and low-class. It's a book of happiness and saddness. It's a great book of love and happiness. But it's also a book of independecein a new world. A great book for girls from the ages of 12 to 100 a great book for all.

3-0 out of 5 stars This book is ok.
I think that this book is good, it is very discriptive, and i think that it gives a good explanation of every character. The main character, Aggie is very realistic, and seems like a very down to earth kind of girl. Iwould recomend this novel to anyone who likes novel like this, (romance anda little bit of excitement at the same time)

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Book!
This is a very well thought out and nicely written book, which i would recommend to anyone, particularly girls. The main character Aggie is realistic and the events in the novel are both exciting and thoughtprovoking. It has a bit of romance for all those of us who like that.Ithink you should definitely check it out, its by a great Canadian author, and set in Toronto in the 1930's. ... Read more
