4-0 out of 5 stars amazing
I read this book for a biography report. I actually am not a big , fan of biographies, but this one reads like a novel. The book has a glossary in the back which is very helpful. It exceeded all of my expectations and I reccomend it to all ages 12 and above.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting point of view from the infamous Malinche!
The history seems accurate based on other sources I've read about the conquest of Mexico, but it might be a difficult read for youngsters. The language is difficult in the beginning with so much Aztec vocabulary, but you get used to it after awhile. There is a helpful glossary in the back to help with the definitions and pronounciation. It was interesting to understand the history from Malinche's viewpoint.I think it was helpful that I already had some understanding of the conquest before reading this book.A good supplement to the study of the Aztecs and Cortez. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Mexico
The book I read about Mexico. The book told about many things from Mexico's history to it economic system.I thought that this book was very interesting. From this book I learned about how the Mayan and Aztec Indians lived many years ago. These were two of the major tribe thousands of yearsago and they believed in many gods.In many ocaions they would sacraficepeople (victem were usually prisoners that have been captured) to thesegods. I also read about how Spanish conquistdors came to Mexico and tookthe land from the Aztecs. Mexico was refured to by the Aztecs as theshaking land because it was hit by many major earthquakes that shook thecountry. Mexicans have many types of fiestas for they're many differentholiday. One of them that I read about was 'Day of the Dead' where thepeople celebrate their dead anstors. They go to the graves and lightcandles and bring food. Between the years of 1940 and 1970 the populationof Mexico increased from 1.1 percent to 3.5 percent. In the book the authorJack Rummel predicts the Mexico's population will be about 110 millionpeople by the year 2000. I think that this book was very interesting.Iwould recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn anything aboutMexico or the country's history. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Think before you buy
I purchased this book to expose my Pre-K students to the numbers 1 through 10, and I was disappointed that it's out of their league. The text is really for 7 or 8 year olds. Also, be forwarned that the number six refers to Los Ninos Heroes (Boy War Heroes who were killed by a U.S. invasion). The accompanying illustration depicts the boys fighting, firing rifles, and one boy is wounded(bleeding). Also, the number nine depicts a matador ("killers of the bulls") about to plunge a sword into a charging, bleeding bull. Consider your audience before purchasing this book. ... Read more
