All around the world, people buy and sell goods in markets. Ted Lewin introduces readers to six unique markets in such diverse places as Madras (India) and Lambertville (New Jersey). In Thailand, selling and buying takes place aboard long thin boats, where people buy fruits with such lyrical names as pomelo and rambutan. Some vendors even cook food right on their boats! Other highlights include a market high up in the Peruvian Andes and a camel market outside of Cairo. Lewin's watercolors have soft edges and very bright colors. The detailed pictures convey the bustling excitement of a market full of interesting goods. A must for all teenagers!
This is an excellent introduction to the stock market for teenagers. The book is directed towards teenagers and accomplishes it's goal well. All teenagers should read this book to gain a starting knowledge of the American Stockmarket. Awesome!

Wonderful

Wealthy Genius

One of the Worst
I bought this book because its on Bill Gates, and was I disappointed or what? The style of writting is very bad, and suits a small article not a book. It is not a biography at all, but an absurd trick to cash in on Bill Gates' Name.

Wow..it is a good book!
This story is about the history of money. It was kind of interesting because it tells in long time ago how they got foods without money. Also, it tells how money started. The book explained how money is made and now how it is use. I like this book because before I read this book I wondered what money is made of. Well, I thought it was going to be a little bit boring, but it was ok. I want to recommend this book to students who like history books and also who are interested in money.

Ever think about where a quarter travels?
A clever look at money and where it might travel throughout its life.Mostly we follow a quarter as it gets minted, sent to a bank, then travels throughout a city (from a grocery store to a parking meter to a garden center) and finally back to the bank.Math is included throughout the book, and readers will be able to figure out page numbers by the amount of money shown on the bottom of the page (e.g. page 25 is a quarter).The text is minimal, though there are several thought bubbles that keep the story moving.The illustrations are clear and colorful; the artist used photographs of money, which makes it stand out.A note is included in the back that gives more information about the history of money and specifically money in the United States.A glossary is also included. ... My seven-year-old daughter is reading this book now. This morning, she said to me, "Daddy, I'm so glad you got me this book from the library.But there's one thing I don't like: those companies were so mean! And why?Because of money, that's why! But those people aren't any better than otherpeople are. It's just the way the black people used to be treated, itwasn't fair. People should be treated nicely, not just the rich people,that's what I think." So if you want to nurture a sense of socialjustice (and maybe a little social rebellion) in your child, this seems tobe a good book. I can't wait to read it when she's done.
