4-0 out of 5 stars Trolls Don't Ride Roller Coasters
Are you looking for a book to read? Trolls Don't Ride Roller Coasters by Debbie Dadey is a good fantasy book. J.J is a troll who does not like noise. She has a booth in the carnival. When the friends went to the carnival to ride, most of the rides were broken. So later they found out the reason the rides were getting broken. They then got together and made a plan. If you want to know if the plan worked read the book and find out.3-0 out of 5 stars Trolls Don't ride Rollar caosters
My name is JonPaul Szybnski .I read the book Trolls Don't Ride Rollar Caosters by Debbie Dadey, and Marcia Jones. This was a great kids book. The main characters n the story are Eddie,Howie,Liza, and Melody. They all go to the carnival and want to ride the new ride called the Monster. It is the biggest and scariest rollar caoster there. The four kids are only elevan or twelve , so there scared. Eddie is the brave kid so hes not as scared ,and liza is very scared she just wants to ride the merry go round. So all four kids ride the rollar coaster ,but then all of a sudden it comes to a complete stop.Liza and Melody are so scared they have to climb down a three story ladder. While they were climbing down they heard these strange luaghs. When they got down they rode the merry go round.Eddie was so boared . When they were done they saw a lady that was on the roller caoster with them.As they wre walking over to the lady Eddie saw a sign that said strongest kid contest. So before hey went to the strange lady Eddie signed up. They walked up to th lady. Liza whispeed to Melody she looks like a toll. How asked the ladies name, she said J.J. A few weeks later they went to the strongest kid contest. They saw J.J. again.she was tying to take down the tent to ruin the contest. Liza stopped her.It was allmost the end of the contest . just Eddie and the kid they called the bully. The Bully swung ,ding .He had the highest score yet.Eddie swung,Ding,Ding . 5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for parents too!
A sweet little bedtime story for children and parents alike.Anyone who's ever been nervous about those things under the bed will be comforted by this tale.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jitterbug Jam
This book is the gift we are giving to all the pre-schoolers/kindergarteners in our circle this year. The illustrations are lovely and the the dialogue lends itself to a "drawl" for the out-loud reader. It is a charming book to read and look at all wrapped around the gem of a lesson about stereotypes. We have received phone calls of gratitude and praise from the homes to which we have made this book a gift.

4-0 out of 5 stars Zombies and ghosts
Very interesting book. All my kids (6, 4 and 3) love it for the ghosts and monsters, although I think the book is a bit too difficult and long for the 2 younger ones to follow. All the same, they like to hear about Monsters - again and again.Yet, at the end of every reading they will ask "so are there monsters?" and "did you also make a mistake about monsters, mummy?".

5-0 out of 5 stars Fearless Female Brought Up With This Book
This was my FAVORITE book when I was little. The monsters did creep into my dreams, but the theme of the book is that Mom,though she did sometimes make mistakes, was the strongest around.I mean, heck, she could scare away monsters!1-0 out of 5 stars Would give zero stars if that were an option!
I bought this book after reading the good comments of other reviewers, but find I completely wasted my money since I immediately donated it to charity without ever letting my kids see it.I am pretty liberal about what they read----"My Monster Mama loves me so"and "Frank was a Monster (who wanted to dance)" are their FAVORITE books---but this book is plain scary, not humorous or comforting. I bought this for my fearful 5-year-old (to try to help quell her fear of the dark) but this book would give even my eight-year-old nightmares, though my 10-year-old would probably find it amusing. I agree with the reviewer who said that mom is made to look like a bit of a dolt, right up until the very last (and somewhat confusing) page. If your kids weren't scared of the dark before reading this, it will give them plenty of new monsters to worry about.Skip this book and instead go for"No Such Thing". ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars More Junk On Life's Path
Beautifully illustrated book and perfect for dumbing down your child. Imagine silly Elmo, role model, talking about bedtime. Elmo has little to offer in this book. My daughter isn't allowed to and doesn't come up with 100 things she must do before going to bed. Why let Elmo teach her to stall or manipulate? If I read this book to her, she may need to check under the bed, water the plants, open the window and look outside, feed the fish, run out of the room to check to see if the water was left running, check to make sure the cap is on the toothpaste, close the window, et cetera before going to bed.I have a collection of now over 300 children's books and this one just doesn't offer much. There are so many better books out there--many classics which are engaging and silly, but ALSO teach kids lessons on HOW TO LIVE AND ACT.Often both parents are working these days and there is less time that they are around to teach their children about morality and how to live. Why waste time with this book? Even that purple dinosaur has more to offer!

5-0 out of 5 stars Another precious Elmo Book, a MUST Have!
This book is SO cute, my son loves it! It's the larger sized book (about 8 1/2 x 11) it's always hard to know because they never tell you in the description. Fabulous poem about going to sleep, lovely graphics and sweet as can be. My only wish was that it was a board book because I'm always afraid the pages are going to get ripped. Either way, don't hesitate this is one of Elmo's best!!!! P.S. I thought when it said (Glitter Picturebook) that the pages would be sparkly - they are not, I have no idea what Glitter Picturebook means but in case you were wondering:)

5-0 out of 5 stars A great freezing story
The story begins when Eric, Julie, and Neal are in art class. New kinds of sparks come out of Eric's fingers. They are silver. They go to Droon and meet Keeah. Keeah tells them about an evil monster named Krog. The knights of the silver snow are with Keeah. One of the knights, Rolf, goes with the kids to the ice caves of Krog to stop Krog from destroying Droon cities. They meet the Ice Man. Neal says something mean and the Ice Man asks him three questions. He gets the first two right but the last one is math and he gets it wrong. This gets the Ice Man angry and Rolf and the Ice Man fall into a giant crack. The kids and Keeah go on without Rolf. The kids see an ice palace. They go in and they find magic food. The food makes them go to sleep. Before Eric goes to sleep he shoots the ceiling with the sparks from his fingers and snow falls in the palace. The snow wakes everybody up and they find the Ice Caves of Krog. Krog defeats everybody but Eric. Krog tells Eric he has two weaknesses. Read the book to find out what his weaknesses are and the true story of Krog! This was a great book.

I think that this book blends some horror with a kids book of good vs. evil. They think Loch is crazy when he speaks of a monster but now its back and they can't stop it. Loch and his sister have to find a way to save the beasts before Cavenger kills them all. No one other than the people that live on the lake community and thats not many,so there on there own. Paul Zindel is a masterful author with alot going for him.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Loch
The book is written by Paul Zindel and is called The Loch it is a fantasy type of book it is about a thing that lives in a book called lake loch which is a very common lake until one night when a boy and his parents go camping at lake loch. The boy's parents go to get some fire wood and tell the boy to stay there. The boy disobeys his parents and goes to the edge of the lake he sees something giant come out of the water and take a sheep near by. It is eight years later and the same boy is trying to figure out what the what the thing was that he saw. I think that this book is a good book for kids in middle school from about the fifth grade to the eighth grade. I think this book is a better book for boys to enjoy this book

5-0 out of 5 stars A great horror/cryptozoology book
I love this book! I know a lot about plesiosaurs, lake monsters etc but I had never read a novel about that subject. But when I saw this book I was interested. The book did not let me down. There is enough horror/gore to satisfy most, and there is suspence, adventure, and action woven in too. It is about a fifteen year old boy named Loch. His dad is working with some men who are trying to find theplesiosaurs who are supposedly living in Lake Alden. Several people are of course devoured by the beasts, but Loch and his sister find a baby plesiosaur and discover that the creatures attack only when they feel threatened. Loch must then somehow save the plesiosaurs from destruction as the research team tries to blast them to smitheriens with grenades, harpoons, and machine guns. I could not put this book down, and I reccomend it to anyone who likes horror and adventure books. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Unique children's book (that adults would also enjoy)
I really like John Irving's writing and have all of his books!
5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant.
I don't know if Irving has any more children's books in him -- I certainly hope so.This one is an excellent first effort, and anyone familiar with his novel "A Widow for One Year" already knows the story.
4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting
This is an interesting book for children who have fears of the dark and night time noises. It offers comfort in reality rather than fantasy. While acknowledging the fears of the child, this book does not try to ease them.I initially did not like the book because it left me without a "good" feeling by it's end.I felt no resolution. But this is why I like it now.It is a story that illustrates the scary reality of the unknown without trying to give the reader answers. This book is real and it has a sense of humour too. ... This month, in my english class i read a book called the doom stone. I give this booke a 3 out of 5. it was mediocer at best. The book, i thought, had poorly developed characters, i disliked the plot line, and the book wasn't really like the reviews said. I also thought the story dragged on about a lot of things. Don't get me wrong, I like Paul Zindel, but this wasn't my favorite book from him. That is why I give this book a 3 out of 5.
