Racecar dads rejoice.An alphabet book just for you.
Brian Floca figured out something for "The Racecar Alphabet" that a lot of author/illustrators could benefit from remembering.If you're writing a book, be it alphabet, fairy tale, or plain old run-of-the-mill fiction, and your story is about a non-fiction subject, do adults like me a favor and include some factual information at the beginning for them to bone up on.That way, when they read this book to their hepped up five-year-olds, they'll avoid the embarrassment of a blank stare that comes when a preschooler asks, "Why are the racecars driving through a city and not a racetrack?".It's funny, but the only real problem I've had with this book is that it IS an alphabet book.If it were not, it would probably have a much wider audience.Sometimes the choices an author makes are more confining than they can anticipate.Doesn't make the book bad, though.
Cute mix of alphabet, history, and motion
The Racecar Alphabet does a clever job of showing a racing scene for each letter. Scenes are of historic races, cars, and people, so this is a book that I enjoyed as well.

Inside a Boy's Mind
Michael has done a terrific job of telling his story from the mind of a small boy.My three boys LOVE this story--and from a mom's perspective, it captures so wonderfully the way little boys play, think, and imagine.The illustrations are fresh and vibrant, the story itself simple and straightforward.All in all, a great children's book.

Perfect Book For a Young NASCAR Fan
I had a hard time finding a good book about NASCAR for my son when he turned 5. He's a huge fan. This book is perfect.He's going on 7 now and still enjoys this book. It has lots of great photos of real cars and drivers - not generic painted race cars that a fan wouldn't recognize. It has photos of the pit crew action, the tracks, actual racing photos, the parts of the cars and lots of driver and car photos that your child will love. Some of the drivers and cars included are jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, and Matt Kenseth. Great book for a 4 - 8 year old fan. The design is neat, too with the rubber handle with the NASCAR logo, and because it's a board book it can be carried around and looked at over and over again without getting damaged! Great gift for a true fan - your child won't be disappointed.

Awesome for little boys
I have been reading this book with my son, age 4, for a week.The book is not too long and it has really great photos in it.There are plenty of small snippets of information for reading so you can read a little on each page out loud without having to read it all.We checked it out from the library and I can't believe it is here in hardcover for five bucks.Truly worth the money.
