5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
I wasn't familiar with Mr. Lunch products before I ordered the address book, but I trusted the reviews I read and ordered it anyway. I love this address book! The graphics are really cute without being overdone. Also, the tabs stick out and make it easy to find numbers. The thing I like most is that it's small, but they've only allowed 3 names to be put on each page. This makes it easy to write legibly without having to cram information into a tiny space.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quirky Fun!!
I bought this address book as a back up for my PDA.Well, that's what I tell everyone, but the real reason is that it's just so darn FUN!Every aspect of this address book oozes quirky, irreverent, fun.The bold colors and designs grab your attention, but it's the cute and playful retro feel that kept me hooked. The dividers are strong plastic coated paper with colorful drawings of Mr. Lunch and his antics. The alphabetical posts are easy to find and sturdy.Typically you'll have space for 18 names and addresses for each letter. You also get two lines for phone numbers, a line for a fax number and another for email addresses.A real cute feature is each entry has a spot to stick a Neo-Print sticker of the person.I love this feature because it makes it so easy to remember people or a fun time you had with them. The only thing is if you don't have a sticker of them you'll have to leave the space blank or draw one yourself. Also included is one sheet of some really cute Mr. Lunch stickers and 6 blank pages for notes.5-0 out of 5 stars A great address book...

5-0 out of 5 stars Mr. Lunch's Wild Ride!
Just in case you're new to this whacked-out series, the San Francisco-based team of Seibold and Walsh open with a few relevant facts in a opening page right out of Disney's Toon Town, or Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland." (The page, like much of the book features about a dozen flat colors, optical effects, and a font called "arbitrary bold."Here's the opener:
2-0 out of 5 stars Story needs work
I love the illustration style - however, the story of this book is overly long and really not so interesting. My son won't stay by my side to listen to me read all the text in the book; I have to edit the book myself for him to be interested at all.I think the Seibolds' have produced better books (like the Olive stories, or the first Mr. Lunck book) and would reccommend those before FREE LUNCH.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Very Funny Book
My nephew loves Mr. Lunch, and so do I.We were very distressed to see our hero victimized by the machinations of a very, very bad elephant in this installment. However, we know that Lunch will always prevail -- with a little help from Ambrose, of course. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars For the Casual Letter
I was not familiar at all with the Mr. Lunch line of merchandise, I'm not even sure exactly who Mr. Lunch is to be honest. But while searching around through for different stationary I happened to stumble upon this and thought "awwwh how cute" and on a whim bought it.It's not for the serious letter writer, it's near impossible to write on more then one sheet of paper without having to force the second piece inside of the envelope and then tape down all of the sides because the envelope won't seal.So if you're looking for just a smaller pad for you to write a casual letter to a friend to then this is definately the pad for you.Otherwise I recommend searching somewhere else for a stationary set

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Cute & Practical!
I was not familiar with the Mr. Lunch products before I bought this stationery, but I took a chance after reading the reviews. The graphics are very cute and there is a lot of writing space on each page. The stationery looks more expensive than it costs. Definitely a great buy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mr. Lunch is Stylin'!
If you want stationary with personality, you can't go wrong with this delightful package. There are 6 different full-color designs to choose from. What makes this package stand out from the crowd however, is that the stationary is its own envelope as well! All you do is fold on the scored locations, moisten the two edges, seal, address and, Boom!, you're ready to send it off!Children will love it and all the adults I have sent one to have gotten a kick out of it as well. The place for the return address is a bit small, but that is a very minor quibble.Get this very affordable, inventive and fun stationary for your family and/or friends. You won't regret it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Whimsy for Children and Adults
While not as explicitly enjoyable as "Free Lunch" or my personal favorite "Mr. Lunch Borrows a Canoe," this book still holds a great deal of charm. All of the Mr. Lunch book s-- and the "Olive" books for that matter -- are illustrated in such a funky, eclectic manner and written in a hip, endearing style, that adults will enjoy reading them as much as children.

5-0 out of 5 stars Quirky, Goofy Fun with Great Lessons for Kids
This is without a doubt one of my favorite children's books. The book is for 4-8 year-olds, but most 4-5 year-olds might not understand the artwork's quirky, abstract nature.5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for all ages!!
This is a wonderful and imaginative book. Children will enjoy the sweet simple story of Mr. Lunch (a dog who loves to chase birds, but not catch them)and the adults will certainly not mind reading the story again and again. The illustrations alone are fabulous, I would highly recomend the entire Mr. Lunch series. This is the first in a series of three books starring the "professional" dog.I would also check out, "Olive, the Other Reindeer" and "Monkey Buisness" if you want books both you and your child can enjoy together! I also think they are just fine to have in your collection, if you don't have any children, you'll enjoy them just the same. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice early effort from Seibold and Walsh
Having recently discovered the wonderful works of J.otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh I went ahead and bought this title, one of their earlier works.Neither the art nor the writing are as fully developed as their later works, such as the exquisite Gluey, but all of the trademark elements are in place.J.otto's art is still irrestibly charming and full of humorous details to find and enjoy.Walsh's writing is simple enough for youngsters to understand, but subtly includes whimsy and benevolence in her typically unforced manner. All ages will enjoy the dog Mr. Lunch's downstream journey to Venice.

5-0 out of 5 stars mr. lunch and fantasy
i find the mr. lunch books very inventive and humorous.my 4 year old son loves them.i first bought "mr. lunch takes a plane ride," prior to our family flying to california (from new york).it was a perfect primer to the ride.the canoe story is even funnier than the plane story.of course it is absurd and tongue and cheek, but kids don't know that, so it feeds into the invention of fantasy that kids at this age should foster.the drawings are hip as well...very modern...highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mr. Lunch Borrows a Canoe

5-0 out of 5 stars The World's Most Adorable Address Book
The Mr. Lunch Highly Professional Address Book would make a wonderful gift for a child learning to write letters or anybody who likes offbeat, silly drawings.J. Otto Siebold's wonderful, lovable illustrations of Mr. Lunchand friends are on every page of the book and it even comes with a sheet ofstickers. If you buy this address book, it'll make you smile every timeyou use it.

4-0 out of 5 stars the perfect little journal
This journal is lightweight and has both slim-ruled lined pages for writing and blank pages for drawing and doodling. Jotto's little characters wave and smile from the top margins of every page. The slightly goofyappearance of the little book helps to keep things light and fun, especially when journals can take themselves SO seriously with the adventof tomes in the making for every occasion, be it travel, gardening, being awoman, dreaming, loving cats, riding a harley? One caveat to this journalis its flimsiness compared to hardbound journals. The little stamp decal onthe cover flaked off during its rigourous stay in my purse. Still, it caneasily be glued back on. Also, pressing down the pages to write on themexposes the back spine, which is bound with a hardy vinyl-leatherymaterial, but could lead to page loss if not carefully kept. This didn'tkeep me from buying another one to start once my current journal runs out.The Mr. Lunch Journal just has the lovliest weight in the hand and fits soeasily into any bag. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Frankly, I'm disappointed.
I love Mr. Lunch. So when I first saw that Chronicle (the publisher) was soliciting a Mr. Lunch Pencil Box with Eraser, I couldn't wait. And when the planned publishing date came and went with no Pencil Box, I figuredboy, they must be improving the pencils and making everything extraspecial. Special. The pencils are blue (six of them) or they are green(the other six). They have the words "Mr. Lunch" written onthem, and the box has a picture of Mr. Lunch, but otherwise...you might aswell buy Pokemon pencils. sigh.

5-0 out of 5 stars Double Wedgemund Deluxe, please
Mr. Lunch means a lot of things to a lot of people. Personally, I think he represents the toaster oven. The toaster oven is an item that is approaching extinction. Mr. Lunch is also approaching extinction. The toaster oven can warm up many items such as bread, bagels, English muffins, and even some pastries. Mr. Lunch can also do all of these things. For thisreason, I highly recommend these pencils. The eraser isn't too shabby, either. ... Read more
