Max is at it again!!
A great book for Max and Ruby fans! It's not too long with just a few sentences on each page and the illustrations are great! It holds my 3 year olds attention all the way through and even gives the parents a chuckle when Max comes back with his own answer of "Because!!" (I'm sure that's just payback for all the times our kids have to hear that answer!) I highly recommend this book!

Max Enchants Again
We absolutely love the Max & Ruby books.Max's Christmas was one of last year's gifts to my toddler munchkins.They love it and they just can't get enough of Max and his bossy-but-loving sister, Ruby.Max's Christmas takes Max through the Christmas Eve bedtime preparations, with Ruby helping him brush his teeth and put on pajamas."Why?" asks Max. "Because," says Ruby.Max wants to know why he can't stay up to see Santa and, after Ruby puts him to bed, he decides to take his blanket downstairs and just see for himself.Max falls asleep, Santa comes down the chimney (Santa is a bunny, of course), and Max wakes up. Santa tells Max to go back to sleep.Max asks, "Why?"Santa replies, "Because!" I love Max!
Rosemary Wells' Max and Ruby books are the best books for small children of all time, and Max's Christmas is the best of the best. The focus of the book is Max asking his older sister Ruby a thousand questions about Santa Claus that she can not answer (until, an exasperated Ruby finally screams BECAUSE! and refuses to answer any more questions). If you've dealt with any 2 to 4 year old at Christmas time, this will seem so real you won't be able to keep a straight face. It's just a pure delight.Read more

Gentle Look at the Trials of Establishing the Pecking Order
Steven Kellog somehow keeps his many books fresh and entertaining. "Much Bigger than Martin" captures the angst of sibling rivalry by exploring how the younger brother reacts and rebels to the injustices, both real and perceived, from being the youngest kid. For the younger kids in the family, this is a great book!!
I remember reading this book in grade school and I just loved it.I was the baby in the family and my brother always got to do stuff that I wished I could and I sometimes wished I was bigger like the boy in the book.I have two boys of my own now and cant wait to share this book with them.It definatly puts a smile on my face watching my children enjoying books that I loved when I was little and really enjoy to read still..

Must-have for fathers
As a father, this book meant something special to me, and I barely get through it each time I read it to my daughter. It made me cry (although I was pregnant)
This is a very special book and I would recommend it for those tackling the arrival for a new sibling.Wonderfully written and illustrated.

Breath-taking art captures theemotions of a new big sister
Although many books attempt to address the emotions that older siblings encounter when a new baby arrives in the family, NONE have illustrations that come close to these.The artwork is incredible, especially in theartist's use of light and the way in which he captures the mixed emotionsof the big sister as she tries to adjust to the new baby. It's pretty good.
My little sister read this book and she liked it but she didn't like the way that Little Critter never got to do anything that he wanted to do just because of a little sister.How did the little sister get power over that? Sam Is My Half Brother
Everett Anderson's 1*2*3 is a wonderful book about a young boy, Everett Anderson, who id trying to deal with a new stepfather added to the picture.He thinks that one or two people are fine in the house but three is too many.Finally, he discovers that three may not be too bad after all.Even though this book was published in 1977, it does not contain outdated material.It offers solutions to how to cope with an added stepparent.The subject matter, stepfamilies is interesting and the book is engaging to read.

Loved it!
What a sweet book! We received this book as a gift. From the first time I read it to my daughter, I was enchanted. The illustrations are beautiful. The story is simple, yet highly entertaining. My 21 month old daughter has completely fallen in love. She can be heard going through the house going "Whoosh . . .YIKES!" (from the book). I HIGHLY recommend this book for your little ones. Can't wait to get another Mole Sister book!

Recommended for children whose parents want to prepare them for the arrival of a new baby in the family
Young Oliver is angry. His mother is giving away his high char and crib to the new baby that is coming to live with them. Oliver can't even sit on his mom's lap because her tummy has grown too big. Oliver is so angry he feels like throwing his mom in the garbage can, or running away and living in his tree house. There is just no room for a new baby in his life. But when momma reminds him that there are perks to being a big brother, Oliver decides to stick around and share his wisdom with the new baby. Originally published in 1979 and featuring recolored art by author/illustrator Martha Alexander, When The New Baby Comes, I'm Moving Out is an ideal book which is enthusiastically recommended for children whose parents want to prepare them for the arrival of a new baby in the family.
If only we had a negative number of stars...
This book isn't funny.It's extremely negative to a level that I didn't think possible for children's books.Truly, I saw it at the library, couldn't bear to read the entire thing, then came to give it a bad review....it's really that bad.
Outstanding way for children to experience negative feelings
When mom is about to have a new baby, it is natural for children to feel jealous, upset, insecure.It is difficult for a young child to articulate or understand these feelings.This book enables a child to see that others have negative feelings also, that it is acceptable to voice those feelings, and that mom understands.It is better for children to voice their negative feelings than to stuff those thoughts inside and act on them later.Martha Alexander has written a wonderful story which allows children and parents to recognize themselves in the characters.My children love this book and want to read it over and over again, as will yours. ... Filled with bad grammar . . .
This book was given to my son as a text book and I had to correct the grammar and incomplete sentences before I could let him read it.The title shoud be "Copy Kyla".The page that starts "Got me some . . ." should read "I have . . ."The pages are not numbered.Only two pages are free of grammatical errors.I gave one star for good illustrations and one star for the positive family life and small town atmosphere of the book.
