5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect book for a mom with triplets!
This is a very sweet book.I bought it for my GBG triplets. My triplets have very different personalities and like the Pea Pod Babies have many of their own unique adventures. My kids love this book and so do I!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Treat for Your Sweet Pea
Pea Pod Babies is a delight from start to finish. My 2-year-old son loves the deft, lighthearted rhyme, and the adventures of the three very different little pea pod babies. A celebration of individuality and sibling harmony that I recommend wholeheartedly. The illustrations are breezy and beautiful too. ... Read more

I love Cam books. My 7y/o grandaughter introduced me to her a few years ago. We always read Cam books together. The newest is our absolute favorite.I am a retired OB nurse and some of the mystery happenings actually occured where I worked. Some of the terms such as maternity were out of date.Birth Center is the most current term in our area. This is a book I would highly recomend to any other Cam fan or anyone expecting a new sibling.A great book to suggest in a Sibling Class.5 STARS all the way :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Perfectly pleasing
I am a big fan of this series. I find them absolutely perfect for pre-schoolers, and my three young children adore them. The illustrations are utterly charming, and the text is simple yet beautifully chosen. This is my current favourite of the eight--but they're all so lovely that I never get tired of reading them or of giving them as gifts. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for new "big" brothers or sisters
Something Special is a great book for children with recent additions to the family. It's the story of Charlie, a preschooler, whose life is complicated by his new baby sister, Sally. Although he keeps trying to findsomething special to bring for share day, his mother is too busy with Sallyto help him. My son particularly liked it because Charlie gets angry, stomps his feet, and mutters things--and that's okay. Eventually, Charliegets to bring the best thing of all for share day: his baby sister Sally. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Harness fan from MN
I loved this book.I laughed and cried. It was tender, mischievous, funny and at times a little harsh...very realistic! It definitely was one of those books that I had to keep reading till I was finished!!The author's words are woven together so cleverly that I found myself wondering how she could spin such a wonderful tale.Bravo.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great New Voice for Young Readers (or Even Old Ones!)
Others have already mentioned what a fine family tale this is--virtually transporting the story-telling talent of Laura Ingalls Wilder into the early 1960s--but another aspect of this great debut novel I love is the work of Harness the historian, weaving the important events of the era and even the westerns on TV into the fabric of her tapestry of a tale.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
Cheryl Harness' unique voice shines through in this novel. Carmen is funny, sad, kind, confused, and so very honest about her feelings. Readers will immediately identify with this spunky gal. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story!
My middle son (then 4)loved this book while waiting for his own baby sister to arrive. The secondary storyline about Franklin worrying over his bean sprout is so sweet.5-0 out of 5 stars When the baby due?
Franklin is impatient for his baby sister to arrive. He feels left out. Just like most kids do when there is a new arrival. He keeps trying to get spring to come so his mom can have the baby. The is so true to want most kids go through when they are waiting for their new baby to come. They get put on the back burner while everyone is focusing on the new arrival.

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny !!
When I read the first chapter of the book,I screamed with laughter.Russell had to catch up with his math and Elisa wanted to help so she took a ketchup bottle and really ketchup his math.Ha! Ha! Ha! What a funny book! The second chapter was funny too.Well,I can't blame Elisa for all that. However, she is only five years old.Oh,here's another joke.Elisa thinks that we must say that instead of one year old,we should say one year young.Maybe she thought that if we called a baby one year old, that means we think that the baby is OLD! And if we called a baby one year young, that means the baby is young. This is a really comical book.It is one of my favourite comical books.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not What I expected!
This book is not what I had in mind when purchasing!I really wanted a book to help encourage my nephew to cherish the good things about his little sister. The only good things "John" finds about his sister in this book are actually horrible behaviors that you would not want out of your child. Also, I was expecting "John" to like his new sister at the end of the book, but he still wants her to go away at the end.(which she does by the way, the mom ships her off to grandma's for a day)All in all, a huge waste of money.I was very disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Sibling Comfort
John has decided that his baby sister just isn't good for anything, and it's time for her to go.The funny, gentle dialogue that follows between John and his mother explores just what this baby is and isn't good for - and will be very comforting to older siblings who are experiencing John's frustration.I gave this to my friend's four year old when his younger sister started to crawl, and it was a big hit.(I wish it had been around when my kids were little!) ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Worst birds and bees book I've ever read
I love Berenstain bears! That said, I couldn't believe how horribly they muddled a topic like birds and bees.If they didn't want to write about it, then they shouldn't have.Instead, they have mother have sister ask the doctor about it. It is a touchy enough subject without books like this implying to kids that it is such an embarassing topic that mothers shouldn't even talk to their kids about it, only doctors! The doctor then answers her questions vaguely by saying the baby comes out the "birth canal".Like that tells sister, or any kid reading it, any more than they already know! Then it ignores the topic.Jan and Stan could have easily written the book by glancing on the topic, and made a good book leaving out asking the doctor questions that weren't really answered. If they were going to talk about it, talk about it, instead of leaving parent and kid with a bad taste of - oh this stuff is too "embarasing" to even mention in a book.Nothing wrong with not mentioning it, just shouldn't mention it if they're just going to blush and avoid it.I think it makes the idea of the birds and the bees even scarier than our culture already has.It does not do this out of respect or sacredness of the topic, as it delves into it, just doesn't say anything about it, but lets talk about this topic but it's too scarry to really talk about in anything but vague terms.(giggle giggle) The way it is written reminds me of a bunch of middle schoolers trying to talk about something they feal they shouldn't and are to embarassed to say anything about!

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute intro to adding a baby to the family, but...
I read this to both my girls, and the beginning is wonderful and age appropriate. However, in the middle of the book it goes into a birds and bees explanation that was completely confusing my daughters (4 and 7). They wanted to know what that had to do with the baby in my tummy. The answer is nothing, really, I felt it muddied the issue rather than clarifying. I alsothought the cliffhanger was sort of a cheap trick to get us to buy anotherbook.

4-0 out of 5 stars Baby Berenstain
I would give this 5 stars if they hadn't made it a cliff hanger. All in all it's a great book.Asppecialy if your pregneant with a baby and want to share this special time with your kids. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A warmly presented story about learning to clean up
Monster Toddler is a charming picturebook for children ages 2 to 5 and is about Timothy, a delightful toddler boy with a "monstrous" alter ego. Editorial Review

Nine-year-old Beezus Quimby has her hands full with her little sister, Ramona. Sure, other people have little sisters that bother them sometimes, but is there anyone in the world like Ramona? Whether she's taking one bite out of every apple in a box or secretly inviting 15 other 4-year-olds to the house for a party, Ramona is always making trouble--and getting all the attention. Every big sister can relate to the trials and tribulations Beezus must endure. Old enough to be expected to take responsibility for her little sister, yet young enough to be mortified by every embarrassing plight the precocious preschooler gets them into, Beezus is constantly struggling with her mixed-up feelings about the exasperating Ramona. 5-0 out of 5 stars Really Good!
This is a REALLY good book! My favorite part of the book was when Ramona had a party for her classmates. It was pretty funny when Howie turned on the vacuum cleaner and said, "I'll suck you up! I'll suck everyone up in the vacuum cleaner!" LOL (Laughing out loud).
4-0 out of 5 stars Wow, What a litter sister!
The book, Beezus and Ramona is great.Read it now.On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it an 8 because big kids, like Beezus, should know that little kids can pests.Little kids, like Ramona, can do naughty things. Little kids should learn from their mistakes. It may take a few times, but one day they will learn. 5-0 out of 5 stars A Childhood Treasure About Sisterly Love
This was one of my very first chapter books, given to me in the first grade, and it left such a lasting impression on me. I literally read it to pieces throughout my elementary school years, and even had two little dolls that I re-named Beezus and Ramona, who I used to act out many of the stories. Read more

And I love Max and Ruby! This book was a great buy for me to give my son. When we read it to him he has to sleep with it. He can relate to Max since they are pretty much on the same wavelength.4-0 out of 5 stars Cute, but not necessarily a bedtime book!
Doggone if Ruby doesn't try hard to help Max get to sleep, but nothing seems to work! Keep an eye out for the red rubber elephant in each picture.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my daugher's continuing favorites
This is a beautiful book, fun to read, and my daughter enjoys it immensely. She even "reads" along, reciting all the parts she remembers, and looks so proud of Daisy when she sits on the egg. At three, my daughter is doing as many things as she can her "very own self" and I think she identifies with Daisy wanting to do something on her own. This book is definitely worth having in your kids' library.

5-0 out of 5 stars My kids loved it!
This book not only has beautiful illustrations, but also has an engaging story that young children will sit quietly to hear.As a preschool teacherI have watched my 3-5 year olds ask me to read it again and again.Themessage of perserverance is a good one and that's what the children seem tofocus on when they hear it."Daisy did it!".I can't wait toread the first book about Daisy.I plan on purchasing this book to add tomy personal library for when I have children of my own.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's about Ducks
The illustrations of this book are beautiful--they make me want to cup Daisy and her cousins (and little Pip) in my palm--and the story is lovely.Despite one reader's feeling that there's no message (or an inappropriatemessage), I think children have the right to literature that's more thandidactic, that represents dramatic or emotional or natural situations fortheir amusement or wonderment or pondering. And ducks sit on eggs forother ducks. And sometimes, eggs don't hatch.True to character, though,Daisy is curious, determined, and sweet--this is why she sits so diligentlyon the egg and is able, through her own determination, to win over herdoubting Mama.By the last page, when Daisy and Mama and Pip watch the sunrise on his "hatching day," I had a tear in my eye, and mynine-month-old was still interested in the bright and duck-filled pictures. ...
