5-0 out of 5 stars Love the lipstick!
My four year old loves the Olivia books, and we couldn't wait to get this one.We laughed the whole way through, especially when she put on the lipstick.Hooray for Olivia!

1-0 out of 5 stars Olivia Mails It In (or Falconer Mails It In) Your choice.
My son enjoys the Olivia series immensely. "Missing Toy" and "Saves The Circus" are on their second copies at my house due to the wear and tear of the originals. We looked forward to "Forms A Band" and were delighted to finally get it at our local bookstore. Disappointed at the results puts it mildly. It is a disjointed mess, with a terrible ending (and if the end is political message, that is just awful and inappropriate)Olivia has lost her edge which is why we love her and the imagination scenes showed none, which is unusual for this series. Ours lasted two reads before it was pushed aside for one of the vibrant other Olivia books. I would buy this book only to complete a collection and nothing more. It is terrible. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

5-0 out of 5 stars How A Birthday Should Be
I love reading this to my child as much as I loved having it read to me when I was a child. The book is joyous and lets you enjoy the fantasy of just how a birthday should be. Reading it on birthdays is a tradition in our house and helps us to relive the fantasy each year.

5-0 out of 5 stars Never to Old for Dr. Seuss
Found this book in the waiting room at the kids Doctor's Office. Myoldest started reading it out-loud and was enjoying it so much that he asked for the book as a gift for his 16th birthday! Goes to show that one is never to old for Dr. Seuss!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Book!
I bought this book for my daughter's 2nd birthday and she absolutely loves it.She can "read" the book word-for-word as I turn the pages because we've read it so often!!Sandra Boynton is a fantastic author. We have a bunch of her books and they are definitely my daughter's favorites (and mine too).

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute but....
We were a little disappointed that the story said the ring bearer collected $5.00 from guests at the reception and was able to go to the Zoo. We had to have my sister skip that page or we would have a four year old thinking he is able to collect money at the reception. Otherwise it was a good book and perfect for our young ring bearer.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a Great Book For a Special Time
I recently was married and in addition to flower girls, I had a young nephew as the ring bearer. He was a little timid about performing the task as he was going to have to walk by himself down the aisle! At the rehearsal dinner I gave him the book and he loved it. For the first time he realized that he was an important part of the ceremony and at the wedding it was clear that he took great pride in his job. The book made him feel better about the whole process and was a great way to give him something special for helping me on such an important day. I would recommend this book for anyone having a young boy (3-7 yrs old) as a ring bearer.

2-0 out of 5 stars There are much better books out their
I was very disappointed in this book -- and I am returning it rather than give it to our ring bearer. I found the book to be much too specific to fit our needs (the ring bearer is refered to as "I" but the wedding is specifically described as his older brother and he will have to miss the soccer game in order to go to the wedding). The first person writing will make if difficult for children to identify with the book, since the details are unlikely to fit most circumstances. I found another book that told the story of a child name Bobby, to be a much better fit, because kids can differentite between a character and themselves much easier than between "I" and themselves.

4-0 out of 5 stars Another great book from Karen Katz
I bought several Karen Katz books for my grandson Tyler on his first birthday. This was one, but it sure does not look like either of his grandmothers, a little too grannyish. Wish there has been a little boy and and a little girl in the book also. The colors were bright and the story was fun and the flaps are great for new little readers to try out.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Good Book
This is a typical Katz book, beautiful pictures, cute words in large print, and a lift the flap format. Your baby/infant will be captivated and reach for this book often.
5-0 out of 5 stars another great Karen Katz book!
We actually bought this as part of a mother's day present for my daughter's Grandma, since they love to read together.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good to read to school.Nice introduction.
A nice story with illustrations although it does not give the kind of detail that my children & I crave.I paraphrased it, using the pictures, for a group of 3 - 6 year olds at school and they liked it.An easy introduction to Diwali for them. Then I showed them a few things, including a clay oil lampand we had Indian sweets. 5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite childhood book
I absolutely loved this book as a child. I am handing it off to my youngest niece this summer. She's going to kindergarten and just learned to read. Never has a slumber party been so much fun! It also has a great lesson about acceptance, overcoming fear and being yourself. I can't wait for her to read it and fall in love as I did so many years ago.

5-0 out of 5 stars We Loved This Story!
This story is about a boy named Ira who is going to sleep over his friend's house. Ira is nervous about it because he still sleeps with a teddy bear and he thinks Reggie will make fun of him. Ira finds out that he isn't the only one with a teddy bear. We liked this story because it had a lot of funny parts. You should read this book because the story is fun and the pictures are really good.

3-0 out of 5 stars 10 Neat Things About Being a Flower Girl
Was a little disappointed with this book selection. Bought as a little gift for my flower girls and although they were 7,5 and 3, it was really only meant for the 3-yr-old.Nice illustrations...just didn't care for the list of 10 things!

5-0 out of 5 stars How Great to Have These Books at My Wedding!
I was recently married and was given these books by a friend. I had several children in my ceremony and I wanted to make the day as special for them as it was for me.The faces on my little flower girls lit up when I gave the books to them at the rehearsal dinner. They read and re-read them that night; they would not put them down! The day of the wedding the girls could not wait to perform their duties and I honestly feel that the books helped them understand the significance of the occasion. Even better, they were good as gold and knew exactly what to do. These books are great and were a wonderful way to wholeheartedly include the girls in the ceremony, as well as give them something fun to do at the boring rehearsal dinner!

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a great book
I purchased this book for my 4 year old niece for upcoming wedding and the 10 Cool things about being a ring bearer for my fiance's 8 year old nephew and was disappointed with both books. The text is virtually identical in both books (which wouldn't be a problem since they are going to two different homes) but the text isn't very compelling and is much too specific. I heard multiple comments of "we aren't doing that," "you're my aunt, not my sister" etc. She enjoyed another book I also bought which told the STORY of a young flower girl -- and she could relate to "she's just like me" instead of the confusing first person narration of this book. It DOES make a difference to a child if the narration is first or third person since they often view characters in stories as friends.

5-0 out of 5 stars A "must have"
This book features beautiful colorful illustrations and a very cute story, full of accurate cultural details. To be enjoyed by children and adults alike, it also is a great way to "teach" your kids about death,or to help them deal with mourning, whether or not you are hispanic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful
El Espiritu de Tio Fernando is an excellent book describing the mexican celebration of Days of the Dead. The book follows a young boy and his mother as they remember his uncle who has died within the last year. The book is simple yet includes many aspects of the celebration. I found this at the library for my 2.5-year-old son simply as an intro to what a wedding is, as we'll be going to one soon.It doesn't talk about the child actually being the ring bearer, which is good in our case.It does focus some on the ring bearer, but shows the overall wedding as well with pictures of the bride groom, wedding guests, etc. It's a pretty simple book & is great for our purposes! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A new Classic
The best children's books manage to delight your children and keep you amused -- even on the 55th reading. The Toot and Puddle series does this time and time again, with beautiful illustrations full of mood, detail, and humor, and prose that never panders to its young audience. They give the reader the feeling of peeking into a fully imagined world -- and the wonderful anticipation of the stories to come!

4-0 out of 5 stars Suitable for your youngest flowergirl
This is a lovely rhyming story suitable for your youngest flowergirl. It's definitely in the 2-4yr old range.I bought it for my three year old niece who is flowergirl at our upcoming wedding and wrote in above each character our names and hers.

2-0 out of 5 stars The Flower Girl
Cute book, if all you are looking for is a simple poem. However, I would say less than average if you are hoping to really explain "flower girl" details, and processes to a little girl.

3-0 out of 5 stars Clifford
Book is ok - my 21 month old daughter doesnt pick it up as much as her other books.I think its for older kids.

4-0 out of 5 stars Clifford's Birthday Party
There is a review below that says that the book shows "how they grew up" - that is inaccurate. The book is about one day, Clifford's birthday, and the party his family has for him.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite
What I don't like about this book is the story line.Clifford and Emily Elizabeth don't seem to appreciate the gifts that his friends give him for his birthday. ... Read more
