Who would ever suspect that a tiny little mouse could wear out anenergetic young boy? Well, if you're going to go around giving an exuberantly bossy rodent a cookie, you'd best be prepared to do one or two more favors for it before your day is through. For example, he'll certainly need a glass of milk to wash down that cookie, won't he? And you can't expect him to drink the milk without a straw, can you? Best book everrrrrr!!
This was a favorite of mine when i was younger, and that has not changed as i have grown older. "If you give a mouse a cookie" is an amazing book. It is funny, interesting, and an all around good children's book. I recomend this book to anyone who has kids or enjoys kids books. It is also a well illustrated book which makes it even better.

New Favorite
My 3 year old son and I love this book.We can't decide which we like more - this one or Numeroff's other book "If Give GiveMoose a Muffin".Unlike some children's books, both the text and illustrations are equally enjoyable.It's especially fun to see how the animals boss the children around and tie them out.

Precioso y divertido / Cute and fun
This book (in English) was one of the favorites of my best friend's little girl for years, and the simple premise of "be careful what you get yourself into" amuses even my grown friends. The story of the mouse who wants a cookie (which requires a glass of milk, which calls for ...) and can't stop there, is a familiar plot presented in a fresh way with fun illustrations. The Spanish translation has a very natural feel. I was delighted to find this translation, as I had told my boyfriend (now my husband) about it on an early date, and ever after he persisted in asking, "How did that story go? The one about the little mouse?" whenever I tried to get him to stop being fresh. :)A delightful book.

Just plain fun
We love this book. Moose is so perfect for times when we want to enjoy a fun, interactive book with our 2-year-old. We have lots of favorite parts, but the best is when my son yells out "Boo!" He can hardly wait to get to that page. :) Its just a fun book. And for a girl from the midwest its full of lots of things that feel like home to me. I like getting to share that with my son. Not that he knows that's part of why i love it, being 2. Also a book full of opportunities to talk about and encourage sharing and helping and friendship... and housecleaning. :) haha. We highly recommend it.

NOT Taking a Bite Out of Crime
Police officer and beagle Sherman Crunchley is just not suited for law enforcement.He's much too nice and unassertive, and so he has a dilemma on his unsharpened claws:He will inherit the position of police chief--passed down through his family like an heirloom--upon the approaching retirement of his father.
This book is fantastic!
This book is so wonderful. It is the first book my 7 year old, almost second grader has really "read". We have struggled. His principal told me, when you find a book he is interested in, he will read. I found it! I could have fainted when he was just reading along, all the words he normally struggles with. Not just reading either. He was throughly enjoying this book. The part about Hamboni, cracked us both up. Thank-you for writing this book. It has brought us to a bridge I thought was unreachable. Heartfelt thanks to the writer and illustrator.
Gentle, but Powerful
This gentle story is creatively unique, full of life lessons charmingly presented and illustrated.A parent or teacher could use Sherman Crunchley as a "cute fun story" or as a book to read to a school class for "hat day".

Great Gift for Child's Birthday
After purchasing the book for my son, I decided to purchase this book for each of the families attending his birthday party.It was a great little party favor gift rather than candy or silly little noise makers.The art is very well put together to incorporate relevant pieces from each story. My son looks at the pictures and picks out different animals each time we read it. The story talks about riding on the tale of a whale and within the pictures you see a child riding the tale of a whale.

I have purchased the full set of Laura Numeroff books for all4 of my children.They were the favorite books of my son who passed away at the age of 10 due to brain cancer a few years ago.I am now purchasing the books for my grandson due in December.I have pre-ordered her new books.These are the greatest books!!!Every child (family) should own them!!!!!
If You Take a Mouse to the Movies
My two oldest grandchildren, Bodie, age 2 1/2, and Sadie, age 5, absolutely LOVE all of the Laura Numeroff "If You ..." books!The newest one has been read over and over again, one after another!Whenever I ask Bodie if he wants me to read him a book, he goes to the bookcase and comes back with a huge armful of books and they are ALL Laura Numeroff's books!I highly recommend If You Take a Mouse to the Movies and the rest of the series, as well!
