You've got to read this book!
I received this book as a gift. There are quite a few books on this subject on the market and this one is the best. I too could not put it down and finished it in 3 days. It's a huge book, a great resource that is well researched and written.. I have a few friends who've purchased this book and really loved it too. I can highly recommend this book.
An outstanding book for overweight teen-aged girls.
I have been in bariatric medicine for 39 years and this is the first book for teen-aged girls that makes sense. This is partly because of Dr. Bartell's advisory panel of a dozen girls and partly because of her extensive knowledge of behavioral management of obesity. The book is easy to read and understand and is practical in her choice of subjects to cover. Healthy eating, understanding of eating disorders, exercise and management of family interactions that could ruin a diet are covered extensively and intelligently. This book is comparable to the one for smaller children written by Leonard Epstein (The Stoplight Diet) that is out of print now. Parents with overweight teenagers need to get this book and share it with their daughters.
Highly recommended especially for any girl concerned by the rampant obesity epidemic in America

Great fun for kids
What a marvelous book. It explains the functions of digestion in a fun way. It has a couple of "fart" and "poop" jokes which are entirely appropriate to a book about food and nutrition, and allows a kid to hear a little "naughty" joke, but the clean kind of naughtiness that a kid can laugh at, instead of the "dirty" jokes that they are probably being exposed to.

Haduch rules!
As a kid who likes science and math, I think Haduch rules! I have read several of Mr. Haduch's science books and they are always funny and full of good information. I even used his book on tornadoes for a school project (and got an "A".)The food book is very funny while telling you about science and how your body uses food. I hope he does a book on dinosaurs.

Science and nutrition made fun for kids.
Now maybe kids will eat what's good for them!This book is one of the rare kids' books that addresses kids as people to be talked to and entertained....not to be talked down to or preached at. Anne's Saucy Chicken is divine!
I received this cookbook a long time ago, when I was a little girl and could not cook.This book gave me the confidence to prepare delicious dishes, like Anne's saucy chicken and Mrs. Irving's Shortbread.The first dinner that I cooked for my boyfriend (now he is my husband) was Anne's saucy chicken.He was so impressed that he thought I was a chef or something.What he did not know was that was the only recipe I knew!Since then, I have expanded my horizons, but I will treasure this cookbook forever.
Terrific
This book is amazing! The recipes are easy to follow and absolutely delicious :) I had to do a project for Home Ec. in which I planned and cooked a 4 course meal, then had people evaluate it, I used only recipes from this cookbook and it was fabulous. I would definately recommend this book to anyone. The illustrations add a wonderful touch to this masterpiece. Good Gift

Nice Cookbook from a Great Company that Donates to Outstanding Organizations
I love Paul Newman.He does so much for kids and other charitable organizations.It's hard to believe an actor like Paul Newman would be so active in non-profit organizations.It's also nice that he does it through offering awesome products that help your family out too.

I am a loyal user of Newman's Own and Newman's Own Organics.This is a fun cookbook.My daughter and I enjoyed making the Jack in the Beanstalk Soup.It is nice to have a cookbook including so many of the Newman products.Lemonade Chicken Wings?Very tasty and a nice variety from the spicy. The Turkey meatballs and spaghetti is really good.

The Best Cookbook Ever!
Children's Cookbook..is such an excellent book. I really love this book because not only are the photos attractive, moreover everything in the book describes things thoroughly and meticulously. The steps are easy to follow. Another thing that is great about this book is when you don't know something, for example a particular tool or ingredient, it provides a picture with it--and not just an ordinary cookbook with just the words. Great Book!
This Book is a great but can get a little boring. The recipes are really fun to make and eat. The discriptions about the countries were very interesting to read. Best picture book about parental cancer
Many children's books about cancer in a parent treat it as movie disease: a convenient way to introduce mortality. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I needed a way to let my children know what they could expect as far as my therapy, and let them know what might happen emotionally. Two Thumbs Up!
I go to school at Village Elementry in Coronado.Adrienne and Abigail are the cusins of a kid in my class named Paul. They got to come to our school and read the book to us.I think it was very good.It really is based on a true story!The book was about there mom who had breast cancer.They even wrote a hat song in the story!I give the book two thumbs up!

Essential of Food Safety & Sanitation
I am using your textbook for a class I teach for the Oklahoma City/County Health Department.I Love It!The class I teach is the Food Service Operator's Certification Course that is required by all food service operators in this county. I am a Registered Dietitian who is contracted by Oklahoma State University-OKC and Francis Tuttle to teach the class for the health department. It is kind of a community service offered by the two schools. I have only been teaching the class for three years now, and by far your book is the best. Meets the training needs for Food Handlers
As an instructor who teaches Food Safety classes to front-line employees, I find this text an excellent resource. It is comprehensive yet still easy-to-understand, a difficult combination to achieve for some of the technical aspects of foodborne illness, pathogens, etc. The cartoon-style drawings add to the enjoyment. I have had many trainees who share these positive comments. Only negative comment would be to include color photos instead of the old, grainy B&W. An excellent food safety training resource
