QUICK & EASY READ
This is an excellent book about anorexia with bulimic tendencies. Tracey Gold, star of the sitcom "Growing Pains," shows us how she developed an eating disorder and her ultimate triumph over such. This is NOT in-depth and does not give a lot of information about eating disorders. What this books does instead, is show you how disordered eating can create illness and struggle in your life--no matter how successful you may seem to the world's eye. If you're looking for a book you can read in one or two days, that will tell you about a person's experience, this is a book to pick up.

A "Must Read" for all dads of daughters
I honestly did not know how sensitive teen age girls are about their weight.I suppose many Dr. Phil types told me so, but it wasn't until, I read this book that I realized it to be so.I am so happy I read it before my daughter came of age.Because I did, I knew what not to say and what to watch for.Only the Lord knows how much pain we were spared.
An Inspiring Tale of Inner Strength
I know for myself that talking about your stuggles with anorexia is a very hard thing to do. Ms. Gold describes her feelings very well and provides an inspiration for recovering anorexics and lets them know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I enjoyed this book and could not put it down.I copied several passages in my journal for futher reference because they were so well written.Even if you've never had anorexia, there are many lessons that are taught in this book.This book does not glorify anorexia nor does it avoid the inevitable. ... Recommended introductory cookbook for young chefs

Brilliant!
Never mind the kids, I wanted to cook the recipes in here myself. Written with verve, enthusiasm and real knowledge, this book makes you feel ravenous just reading through it. It's the children's cookbook I've been searching several continents for. It doesn't dumb down or over-simplify the recipes; they are authentic but still easy to read and follow.The author includes sensible safety advice but doesn't patronise his young readers. It's well-illustrated too - none of those blurry out-of-focus photographs that blight so many adult cookery books so you don't know what the finished dish is meant to look like. And the stay-flat spine makes it easy to read when you've got a wooden spoon in one hand and a pan handle in the other. Please, Marshall Cavendish, bring out an English version soon. In the meantime the US copy I've had shipped over will be getting properly sauce-stained in our family kitchen. And if Matthew Locchricio is ever passing he's welcome to drop in. ... Read more

This is a fun book if your child is into Blue's Clues. Lots of familiar characters hiding with hints so your child can guess who's hiding before lifting the flap. The best summary of basic nutritional science I've seen
I picked this up at my local library, as I have with many health and nutrition books, but this is the first one that I am going to buy. Most nutrition books I see are full of either iffy science, too much biased opinion, or they're just too complicated for me to follow. This book gives a brief but thorough explanation of all the basics. The text and pictures are concise and easy to follow. I have very little scientific background and I was able to understand all the stuff about mono- di- and polysaccharides, amino acids, enzymes, and all the other molecular stuff and their practical functions in the body.
