Complete Idiot's Guide to Child Safety
Parents receive so much information about possible dangers to their children and what they can do to protect them that they find it difficult to know where to draw the line. What safety measures should they insist their child and other caregivers observe? Which ones are less important? This book helps them focus on what is most important. As manager of Texas Children's Center for Childhood Injury Prevention and the local Safe Kids coordinator, I hear many stories from parents about what problems might have been prevented if they had only known . . . A good read
I'll keep this short, but I must say that I found this book very well laid out both in words and pictures.Worth buying!!!

A little dry
This book somehow gets lost in the space between entertainment and education. It's too dry to be entertaining, unless you are just dying to find out what an SCBA is. And it's really too light to be of any use for education. Make up your mind about what you want and go for either "Fighting Fire" by Caroline Paul (entertainment) or "Essentials of Fire Fighting" for educational use. ... Read more

DISAPPOINTED!!
VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE BOOK.NOT ENOUGH DETAIL FOR KIDS TO UNDERSTAND WHAT PARTS OF THEIR BODY CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT
A Grandmother's Review
This book discusses a difficult subject in a kid-friendly manner. We want to arm our children with information, without making them distrustful of all people. The author and illustrator have presented a strong subject in a format that is informative, friendly, and reassuring.I highly recommend YOUR BODY BELONGS TO YOU.

Great book for teaching and remembering safety tips!
I bought this for my four year old daughter and this is one of her favorites that she wants to always read....it's great because it includes her favorite characters from Sesame Street in a fun format and the safety tips have really sunk in as I've heard her repeating the safety tips here and there (like in the car while driving and she sees a stray dog).It's good because she remembers it because of the funny pictures that she always gets a good laugh from.It's very good for teaching safety tips! ... This book was a great way to teach children to be safe.
I thought this book was a great way to introduce children to fire safety.The pictures are all photographs of real life situations that children can relate to.Each page discusses a different aspect of fire safety.Theywarn children to be careful but also explain how we use fire every day.This book and others like it inform children about fire in a language theycan understand.This book is easy to read and the tougher words include aphonetic spelling to make reading easier. ... Wonderful learning tool for Parents & Children

Very preachy
This book has a grand purpose, but I'm not sure it's the best resource out there. It starts out with an eye-opening introduction and then goes into a chapter on what is the Internet. Unfortunately, it explains it in very simplified and generalized terms. The next chapter explains the dangers present, which is useful information. The third tells what not to do when surfing on the Internet, and the last tells what one should do on the Internet to ensure a positive experience. Unfortunately, the book's tone gears it toward a younger audience than it appears to be made for. Few elementary students would pick up a non-fiction chapter book that sounds like it was written for their first-grade siblings. They would probably also be turned off by the pictures of computers which look like they've been around since the 80's. I would recommend a book that covers this topic in more depth and with less of a preachy tone. ... Read more
