5-0 out of 5 stars The Tale of Peter Rabbit
The Tale of Peter Rabbit is a great little adventure book for children. It is wonderful because even without being able to read, a child can understand the story by looking through Potter's wonderfully illustrated Victorian Era Art. I would recommend this book to any teacher or parent. This should definitely be a book in your personal library.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Tale of Peter Rabbit
ISBN 1569870217 - I mention the ISBN so there's no confusion. With so many copies and retellings, Peter Rabbit is a tough review.Dissing Peter Rabbit is hard for me. I love the story, as I do most of the stories I grew up knowing even before I could read.Having read it recently, I'm not sure that it's the story I loved, or the fact that the big people in my world told it to me.
3-0 out of 5 stars The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Myriah Rangel
This book is about a rabbit that has 3 brothers and sisters, and they all go out.The mother tells them not to go to Mr. McGregor's garden, but Peter the main rabbit, doesn't listen to her and goes there. He ends up running and hiding from him.He finally got home and was sick, from everything he had been through. He is one of my favorites, because it kind of reminds me of me, because I do a lot that people tell me not to. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Kat's Kind Review
The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter was an excellent book. I would recommend it to people of all ages even though it was s targeted towards younger children. The book was about four little rabbits that all wanted to go down the lane or into the fields. The only place that they were not allowed to go was Mr. McGregor's garden. Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail were good little bunnies and went down the lane to the field. But Peter was very mischievous. He went to Mr. McGregor's garden!! When he got into the garden he saw the best sight of his life. There was food galore! He started to eat and eat and eat. He couldn't stop. Then Mr. McGregor found him and chased him through the garden! Peter had many obstacles that stood in his way! Did he make it out safe? Read the book and you will find out.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Good Book for Young Toddlers
I purchased this book for our daughter when she was about 6 months old but she wasn't at all interested in it, unlike 95% of our other purchases. Then at about 12 months she picked it out for me to read it to her, and ithas increasingly become a favorite.I think the reason she didn't like itearlier on was, ironically, the same reason I readily purchased it - thebeautiful watercolor illustrations. While they are very beautiful, theyare somewhat muted resulting in a look that blurs all of the detailtogether.Of course, this is just a guess. At any rate, she now very muchenjoys this book, and anticipates the action, such as Peter sneezing, orthe "scr-r-ritch, scratch" of a hoe.Board books with astoryline are somewhat more difficult to find than the counting, color, alphabet, opposites, etc. kind, and my daughter has always definitelyenjoyed stories. Additionally, this book teaches us there are repercussionsfor our actions, but in a tone that is mild and appropriate for youngtoddlers. If this is what you're looking for, and you're not looking forstorybooks for a younger baby, this would be an excellent choice. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Magical Little Book
I had this book as a child and thought I would never again set eyes on these wonderful illustrations by Beatrix Potter. I didn't even know the title of the book, only remember an untidy "lady mouse" character in the story named Hunka Munka. My husband suprised me with this book as an adult and seeing those beautiful illustrations swept me directly back to my childhood. I realised that I had never read the story, I had memorized the illustrations at an age before I could read. 5-0 out of 5 stars two mice

5-0 out of 5 stars The Complete Tales of Beatrix Potter
This was my first purchase from Amazon and I was very pleased with the professional service and the quick delivery of my order

5-0 out of 5 stars A staple for every home library
How wonderful it has been to get reintroduced to all of Potter's sweet characters. My mom had a small board book collection when I was growing up and I forgot all about these stories. There is just something so warm and relaxing about them.My four year old is loving them (they're a bit too long for my two year old's attention span and she usually wanders away after awhile). However you just can't go wrong with this book--it's a classic and definitely timeless. My only suggestion is that sometimes a "complete" edition is the cheaper route to go, but it does make for a heavy book for little ones to tote around or try to flip through. So if you are looking for something to be a more kid friendly you may want to purchase the individual stories separately.

I was given this book when I was ten, and it is now a favorite of my three year old.She especially loves that Mr. Jeremy's house is "slippy-sloppy" and that he likes getting his feet wet.The story is fun and funny, and Potter's use of language is intelligent. This is the kind of book that inspires children to be better speakers.Any children's writer who uses words like "disconsolately" is five stars to me! ... Lucy is always misplacing her things. No matter how good she tries to be, she still loses her hankies and other things. One day, she decided to go on a hunt for her hankies. Along the way, she asks creatures if they've seen her handerchief. And she meets Mrs. TIggy-Winkle.5-0 out of 5 stars The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle
"The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle" is another perfectly splendid story by Beatrix Potter. This time the author introduces a human character to the world of animals. A little girl, Lucie, has a bad habit of losing her pocket-handkerchiefs. On this particular day she has lost three, as well as a pinny. She goes searching for them in the hills where she finds a door going straight into the hill. When she opens it she discovers a clean kitchen and a peculiar little person. Her name is Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and she is a washer-woman. Lucie's missing hankies and pinny are being washed and ironed by her. I love the way Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle's little black nose goes sniffle, sniffle, snuffle, and her eyes go twinkle, twinkle. Also, the way she always answers questions with "if you please'm". The illustrations are nice and children will enjoy Ms. Potter's beautiful narrative and finding out Mrs Tiggy-Winkle's true identity. ... Read more

This story is about a duck named Jemima Puddle-Duck and she isn't able to hatch her own eggs because the farmers wife wouldn't let her.Where ever Jemima was she would get caught and her eggs were taken away. Then one day Jemima Puddle-Duck went looking for a place to hatch her eggs. She saw a forest down a hill and started to run for it.She flew down and saw a stump that would be nice to site on but a gentleman was sitting on it reading a newspaper. So Jemima started to quack and he looked at her. He thought she was lost and asked her if she was but really Jemima wasn't.She told him she was looking for a place to hatch her eggs, so he took her back to his house where he has a place full of feathers that would be nice. Jemima kept going to his house and one day she decided to stay there until they were hatched. The gentleman told her he was going to cook an omlette for her so he told her to go get some supplies. She did and saw a friend and told him the hole story and one day he went to see her at the gentlemans house. What happened at the end of the book? Read "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck" to find out.5-0 out of 5 stars Naturalistic polemic in duck's clothing.
I always had Beatrix Potter down as an avatar of Home Counties tweeness, with her anti-modern paeans to the countryside and de liddle cuddly animals. So the unsentimental brutalities of this story came as a welcome shock.'Jemima Puddle-Duck' is as endearingly hopeless as her name suggests, unable to tend her eggs in the overcrowded barn she shares with some supercilious hens. She flies over the forest in search of a suitably solitary spot, and comes across a helpful gentleman dressed in tweed, reading 'The Sporting Times'.He is a fox, and invites her to make use of his summer residence, in particular the shed carpeted with the feathers of previous victims.Dazzled by his good breeding, Jemima accepts his offer and visits daily. When the eggs are about to hatch, Foxy suggests she bring along various goodies so they can have a charming goodbye party...Read more

Over the years we have purchased many copies of this book from Amazon. Our children were raised on Peter Rabbit stories and loved them. Now, we live in a small town and every time a friend or friends' daughter has a baby we give this Peter Rabbit book as a present for the new baby. Those who have received it tell us they look forward to reading it to their baby.I recommend this book highly.

3-0 out of 5 stars Classic story and illustrations, awkwardly organized.
There are three stories in this book, the first of which is the Tale of Peter Rabbit.I think that this edition could be better organized, given its intended audience:First of all, you need to be able to read the tableof contents to know where one story ends and the next begins. Also, thebinding is very tight, making it difficult for the"baby-preschool" age group for which it is intended to flipthrough at the book independently. In my copy, at least, about half thestory of Peter Rabbit is included a second time, presumably in error, afterthe third story.A small child might do better with a smaller, hardboundversion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Classic story about rabbit family.
This children's classic tells the adventures of mischievous Peter Rabbit. Entertaining read-aloud stories. Author Beatrix Potter was a teacher and wrote this masterpiece for the purpose of delighting a sick child. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute!
THE STORY OF MISS MOPPET is the cute story of a cat name Miss Moppet who's been played by a mouse. Their antics could only remind you to the famous cartoon series Tom and Jerry.
5-0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Beatrix Potter
Miss Moppet is certainly one of the cutest of all the Beatrix Potter books.I love the illustrations and recommend this book to any Beatrix Potter fan.Miss Moppet would also appeal to most cat lovers out there. As always, it includes a useful moral to the story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Slapstick comedy, Potter style
"The Story of Miss Moppet," by Beatrix Potter, tells the story of a cat who is bedeviled by a mischievous mouse. This being Potter's deliciously warped world, the mouse wears a green jacket and red bow tie.Read more
