The book, Pigs Might Fly was an awsome book.The book showed a lot of perserverence, curiosity, pride, and initiative.My favorite part is when Daggie, the pig, tries to fly, he uncovers a new talent of his.In this book Daggie is a good, kind-hearted pig.He shows a lot of perserverence, curage, initiative, and curiousity. I think you should read this book if you like fun and adventure.

SUCH a good book!
This was my *favorite* book growing up, and I still read it once in a while for kicks. It has a little bit of everything - drama, humor, action, and some good ol' fashioned moral lessons. Very entertaining for kids and their parents - definitely a must!

Another Toot & Puddle Hit
My 4 year old daughter and I are big pig fans, and Toot & Puddle are among our favorites.This story is especially endearing.In it we are introduced to another sweet pig, Opal, who is Puddle's cousin. I enjoy this book because it reads more smoothly than some of the other Toot and Puddle books which rely on the charming pictures to carry the story.It is also a lovely story of friends working together to help out each other when Opal loses her first tooth.

Shaking Wonder.
This is wonderful and is tipin my planet, and highly recomended for all ages.

Near the Top of Piggy Lit!
A farm family driving their Model T over a single "rud" (at first I thought this was a convenient gimmick, but it's the Maine pronunciation of "rud") is blocked, successively, by groups of pigs, hens, sheep, and bulls.Similarly, each member of the family vacates the Ford, shouting and cajoling to no avail.John Schoenherr's illustrations capture the essence of each animal, and he varies the amount of white space to show the growing people/animal menagerie in the middle of the rud.His compositions, expressive faces, and long-limbed characters recall another favorite illustrator, the great Patricia Polacco.

My daughter's favorite
My 21/2 year old daughter adores all Amanda Pig books but this is a particular favorite. She laughs like a drain at the antics of the pigs in the story about the thunderstorm. The story about Amanda and Grandmother helping each other has encouraged Katie to offer to help me with chores too.

A snorting good time
As with all of the Devlin books, "A Kiss for a Warthog" is an absolute treasure for bedtime reading.The story language invites shifts in voice and sound that captivate.The book is a staple of bedtime reading at home.

A new reason to eat fudge - and be courageous, too!!!
This book should still be in print!The Fourth Little Pig (who is a GIRL, by the way) helps the other three pigs see that fear can be overcome and there will be wonderful rewards in store - including FUDGE. My [...] granddaughter had the courage to go outside where she had been stung by a wasp after reading this book. And all of my granddaughters got to try fudge! - something their parents had "neglected" to introduce to their lives!A great book because you can put the lessons it teaches to use in your child's life immediately.Again, it should still be in print.

Great classic
This is a great classic book.
My Boys' Favorite
Wonderful book contrasting the behaviors of two "boys".The parents even have rules which are actually enforced!Imagine that, a book that in today's world shows parents with a backbone and who love their kids enough to say "no"!!All this with Richard Scarry's wonderful illustrations.We bought extra copies to give to friends with young ones.Our boys love it as we read it to them.A wonderful way to reinforce the long-forgotten idea of "responsibility" in our children.

A very negative book
I was considering buying this book because my son loves Richard Scarry and I thought it might be a cute way to reinforce manners.Fortunately, I found a copy of the book at his play group and was able to read it first.Pig Wont is shown bare-bottomed getting a spanking from his father for not listening, is called a "Bad Pig!" for not following directions, and is treated in a very unsympathetic way.This kind of stern, un-understanding way of disciplining a child is unappealing to me and (I believe) unhelpful for the child.The book came across as very negative to me; instead of focusing on why a child would WANT to behave, it focuses on the bad things that will happen to him if he doesn't.That's not the message I want to send to my child. ...
