4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad.
This is pretty useful for checking out movelists for the various Pokmon. However, the information they give on stats is shaky, and sometimes actually incorrect when you do careful comparison between base stats for each creature. In general, the information is still in the ballpark, but the system they use can sometimes make it difficult to get an accurate comparison between two creatures without actually going in the game and leveling them up.
5-0 out of 5 stars The book on Pokemon
This is a terrific source of information for anyone interested in Pokemon.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's a WINNER!
I bought this book for my 8 year old nephew who loves Pokemon. He reads this book religiously and often carries it around with him wherever he goes. He has memorized an incredible amount of information that he has learned from this book. At the very minimum, it is highly entertaining. At its best, it is good exercise for his mind. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Based more on the game than the anime...
In this issue of Pokemon Adventures, Red arrives in Pewter City, only to find a Pikachu who's stirring up quite a bit of trouble. Luckily, by using his Bulbasaur, Red captures the Pikachu. Soonafter he runs into Gary, who challenges him to a contest to see who can defeat Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader, first. And we also get to see the first appearance of everyone's favorite(or hated, your choice) feisty red-head, Misty! Red comes to the rescue as Misty is being attacked by an out-of-control Gyarados, and soon they band together on their journey. The Pokemon Adventures manga is based heavily on the Pokemon RPG videogame, so there's alot of similarities here. You should buy this if you're a fan of the game, or Pokemon in general.

5-0 out of 5 stars Reader from America
This book is great!red walks into pewter city and sees a wanted sign of Pikachu, who is messing up there town. So then Red decides to help and trys capturing the wanted Pikachu....... Then Gary comes and Challenges Ash the Challenge is Who will get the Boulder badge from Brock....... Then trys to help misty with her Gyardos... That's all i'm going to write.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than the usual Pokemon written material
This book is definately another series, with a different set of Pokemon for Ash (though Pikachu behaves in the familiar method from the cartoon, shocking everything in sight). This book covers Ash's attempts to gain theboulder badge and collect more Pokemon. It's fairly well-written, withgood artwork, and a great story line with the Pokemon reacting and being asinteresting as the characters, and I don't just mean Pikachu. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Quite dull a read.
I found this pokemon book in the library and started reading it.It was quite interesting but i found some areas uncreative and dull, such as Sabrina the gym leader and her psychic pokemon. There are also these other pokemon which all have stats, techniques and weird names.Ash, the main character has to verse eight gym leaders, Sabrina being one of them.He is obviousli suffering from emotional problems while versing her and her pokemon burden him. When he leaves the gym, he meets this weird man who takes him to a haunted tower which is very dangerous, and has many scary pokemon. He finally makes friends with one called Haunter and leaves the tower where he is caught by Sabrina and put into her little sisters doll house, where she tried to kill them. The end is so boring that you will have to read it yourself for it is Tracy West who i want to bore you to death, not me.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
Ash wants to be a Pokemon Master. He alkso loves to catch Ghost Pokemon but they are tricky. Will Ash be a Pokemon Master someday? Ash battles Sabrina in this story.

4-0 out of 5 stars great book.why is it just 1 cent?

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good!
When Professor Oak wanted Ash to do him an errand, it was fine to him. They were also told to go to an island and they have to take a blimp. Troubles have started when Team Rocket causes troubles. They also meet her Tracey. There is also a LOST LAPRAS in this story.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Guide
I purchased this guide after losing the original one from 3 years ago. I found this one much more detailed and a lot more helpful. Instead of flipping around pages to find which Pokemon is caught where then flipping to another page to find out what HM's and TM's it can learn, you can get it all on the page for that Pokemon. Thanks again for another great book.5-0 out of 5 stars This is Cool

5-0 out of 5 stars I wish you can put a billion stars.
A friend gave me this book for my birthday. And I can safely say this was the best present I got out of everything. Pokemon fans and comic fans will like this. And it isn't that childish. And this Toshihiro guy can draw. I haven't read a good book like this in a long time. It ranks up there with the Harry Potter books.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome
I find the pokemon tv series childish and wasn't sure If I'd like the manga but I saw the artwork was good so I said, Why not?5-0 out of 5 stars A Great manga, with a different appearence...
This manga is pretty good, but all the characters looking diferent...Brock, Ash,Jessie, James, and Misty look pretty much the same, but minor character such as Ash's mom, Bill, and Professor Oak get a serious makeover...I couldn't stop laughing after I saw Professor Oak, he looks nothing like the anime guy, seeing these makeovers alone justify giving this manga a chance....^_~ ... Editorial Review

If you're one of the many unsuspecting victims of Pokémon, Nintendo's astonishingly addictive role-playing game for the GameBoy portable game system, you must get your hands on this strategy guide. Covering both the Red and Blue versions of the game, this book will explain the premise behind the game, how to get started, and (most importantly) how to successfully capture all 150 Pokémon. Even though the game is played on a tiny handheld device, it is still remarkably complex--which explains why the book is so text-intensive, with tons of explanations and descriptions to help aspiring Pokémon trainers in their quest. Gameplay guidelines will help familiarize you with the basics; then you can move on to the quick and dirty walkthrough (which takes up all of two pages). However, the real meat of the guide lies in the walkthrough. Here you'll find all you need to know about the world of Pokémon--where to go, things to get, and Pokémon to capture. Also, the book includes helpful maps of each game location and tips for beating each of the eight rival trainers. The back of the book features useful tables and charts, including a checklist you can use to track the Pokémon you've snared. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Help
Don't know where to go to next, don't have a clue what you are doing. Look for this strategy guide and you'll find all the help you need to beat these two great games. I you ever buy Pokemon blue or red, make sure you get the strategy guide, and don't end of have a nervous breakdown, because you don't know what to do next. The only way I ever had a chance at beating this game was by buying the guide to help me. It helps you through all of the rough a tough spots in the game. A must have, ( only if you own 1 of these games).

They called Moltres "Moltos" but only once because they spelled it the right way in the back of the book. The maps and quick and dirty path were very helpful. The one thing I would like to see is trainer tables. That way, you know which trainers are which and what Pokemon they use.In Prima's Gold/Silver guide, this feature was included. In this game, the pokemon that the trainers use is a total mystery. The makers of the book should have thought about the trainer table idea when they wrote it. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Attractive guide but with some errors and omissions
Game guides for the Pokemon series like these are usually for casual players, or used by serious players mainly for the maps. There are a number of online, in-depth FAQ's on sites like gamefaqs.com which cover strategy that printed guides cannot. Prima's guide is certianly eye-candy when compared to the text file FAQ's found online. The maps are large and useful (by contrast, their Ruby/Sapphire guide has smaller maps which are harder to read for some locations.) However, there are shortcomings. It's ordered by area, so there are times when you must flip back through the book (after Team Rocket moves from Mahogany to Goldenrod, for example.) The Battle Tower is barely mentioned, the Pokedex only lists level-up moves for Pokemon (not TM or egg moves), and team rosters are only supplied for major opponents. It does have a very good breeding section and a listing of items. I recommend Prima's guide for the player who needs good maps, or who would like help getting through the game without spoilers for everything.

4-0 out of 5 stars Trouble on board..
This Pokemon manga, called Pokemon Adventures, is drawn out more like the Pokemon RPG videogame. In this issue, the Pokemon Fan Club sends Red on a mission to free some Pokemon from a ship called the S.S. Anne. Unfortunately for Red, the person responsible for all this is actually Lt. Surge, the Gym Leader of Vermillion City. Getting past his Electabuzz won't be so easy. Also, Red enters a race, which leads him into many comical hijinks, including a run-in with Snorlax, one of the largest Pokemon that ever existed. If you liked the Pokemon game, or liked the anime but didn't like Ash, you should get this manga, especially since it's at such a [good] price.

Ash's other favorites you can draw are Charmeleon, Charizard, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, andPidgey. Some of Misty's favorites are Psyduck, and Polywhirl; you can draw them too. Brock's Pokemon are Zubat and Vulpix. Some more of Ash's areCaterpie and Snorlax. Have fun drawing these and many more. ... Read more
