5-0 out of 5 stars My first and most favorite strategy guide...
When I first got Pokemon Crystal, I said to myself I'm finally going to get a REAL strategy guide for this game. The Versus guide is my first ever gameboy strategy guide, and it left a great impression. It has a very extensive and detailed walkthrough that covers so much, from the pokemon in a trainer's roster and the money you obtain after beating them, to all the secret areas and items. At the beginning is a page of difference between Gold/Silver and Crystal, and the basics of the game. The pokedex is eye-popping; every pokemon in the game (and not in the game) is shown with the moves it learns naturally, HM and TM-able moves, egg-teachable moves and stats on things like defense, sp. defense, attack, etc.
4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good
Compared to the "Official" pokemon player's guide, this guide has plenty more unveiled secrets than your average guide. I found it to be very informative. I must admit that I found a few errors, but compared to all the cool tips and hints you get, it's not that big of a deal. I love how there's an introduction for each pokemon, instead of just plain old stats. Having this guide makes playing the game alot more fun, and that's what guides are all about. Well, besides guiding. Hehe, you get my point.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pok'emon Crystal
The Pok'emon Crystal game for Gameboy Advance is kind of better than Pok'emon Gold and Silver, because you can get Lapras in it but you can't get Lapras in Gold or Silver, Lapras is at Lv.20 it attacks are Mist , Body Slam , Growl , some thing some thing Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon Tattoo Series 2 (Tattoo Activity).
I bought 2 of this series for my kids, who thought the were great, but did anyone else but me notice that the cover boasts "150 tattoos!", yet if you actually count them there are only 50!You have to buy all 3 inthe series to get the 150!Very misleading! Though the kids did notmind, I feel it is a rip-off!

1-0 out of 5 stars pokemon stadium 2 Official Nintendo Player's Guide
ok, i have to vent somewhere. this is a review for the "official nintendo player's guide," not "prima's official guide," which this is supposed to be a review for. since it's out of print, i can't review it directly, but it is for sale in the z-shops area, or whatever it's called. anyway, these 2 books have the exact same picture on the cover, just different title/text. who knows about the interior. but the one i'm talking about is pure garbage. half the team combos they suggest are bad match-ups. thye could be good, but it's a 50-50 coin toss over half the time. the only reliable part is the classroom competition recommendations. about 1/2 the rest is REALLY bad. a decent player could have written a better book. the writers should be lynched, and i really hope they read this. i would give it 2 stars, because the classroom strategies work, but that should be a given...the bare minimum to even be considered for a rating. so i give it more than it deserves...a 1. please don't waste your time with this book, unless you're looking for a quick route to the crazy farm. if you're serious about using the book for its intended purpose, this horrid book will drive you insane!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Destroys the Meaning!
I have to start out by saying that I am not impressed. Basically, a lot of this book just repeates stuff that the game already tells you. Other than that, it tells you specifically what Pokemon to use! The whole point of being a "Pokemon trainer" is to assemble teams that suit you, not the game! If all you care about is beating the game, then this is very helpful (which is why I rated it three stars). But if you enjoy trying out different teams or beating the game with your just your favorite Pokemon, then this is not for you. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Psyduck Ducks Out but will Misty?
It all starts out when Misty and Brock are looking for a place to camp, but Ash wants to get to the next Pokemon gym. Pikachu convinces Ash that it needs to rest. Ash agrees but he complains about it. When Misty realizes that Togepi is hungry she calls on Staryu to get fruit out of a tree, but Psyduck pops out instead. Misty is frustrated, and she goes to look for fruit. Then Misty flashes back to the first time she met Psyduck. She meets Psyduck in Hop-Hop-Hop Town. Will Misty and friends help Officer Jenny find themissing children and help Nurse Joy find out what's wrong with the Pokemon? Then it's off to the Fuchsia City Gym. Where Misty,Ash,Brock, and Koga are attacked by Team Rocket. Can Team Rocket be deafted? Plus Misty learns something special about Psyduck. Misty leaves Psyduck at a breeding center, but the owners are not what they seem. Next it's off to the Orange Islands; where Misty meets a Water Pokemon Trainer named Marina. They decide to have a Pokemon Battle, but Team Rocket has other plans. Can Misty defeat Marina and Team Rocket? Can Misty ever get Psyduck to listen to her? This was a great book about Misty. If you liked Splashdown in Cerulean City, then you should read this book. I also reccomend Team Rocket Blast Off and Prepare For Trouble. Have fun reading! Remember gotta read 'em all ( I'm trying to!) Gotta go read bye! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Pokemon in books is much better than TV!
For all the people who think Pokemon is really boring, think again, it's great in books!Mewtwo is a powerful clone of the Pokemon Mew.He is back for his revenge after breaking out of Giovani's lab many years ago.Taking the most powerful of trainers or pokemon masters.Mewtwo's plan of creating the most powerful pokemon army alive begins.Being chosen as one of the powerful players, Ash is taken with his associates, Misty and Brock to the secret castle where he meets the other most powerful players with his guide, Nurse Wendy, who had been kidnapped from the pokemon healing center or hospital. There, Mewtwo clones all the pokemon and creates the rowdiest war ever!Copies and originals will fight in the ultimate battle. But Ash gets terribly hurt, and he may die!...........

5-0 out of 5 stars GOOD BOOK!
This is a good book! I like it when all the pokemon original and clones cry for Ash because he got in Mewtwo's crossfire!

3-0 out of 5 stars A Wasted Oppurtunity
Okay, since I'm used to reading 400 page-long novels, I really expected to hate this book. I saw the movie, decided it stunk, and decided to see if the novelization was better. It's different, in a sense, but not better. If you don't have anything to do, read this book just to see Tracey West'sinterpretation of the movie. I think West is a bit mixed up. This book hadno depth at all, and I was expecting some of the hidden meanings in themovie to show themselves, but that never happened. All this book did wastell a story. You could get much the same experience by listening to afriend talk about the movie. One problem I find with Poke'mon is that it'saimed at such a young audience. Because of this, they have to keep it assimple as possible. If they'd only realize that older kids watch it too!The series isn't alowed to develop to it's full potential, and I was REALLYhoping the book would do that. Yet, they continually simplify a good storyjust so little kids can just sit there watching and don't have to think! Idon't understand. The other problem I had was the way they treated Ash. Hehas a bigger ego than in this book, people. I kept hearing his annyoingvoice in my head throughout the whole thing and wishing a differentcharacter would take over. Ash just isn't cool. In fact, NONE of thecharacters are cool. We're given no clue as to whta they're thinking orwhat their motivations are, and that's something that makes books so muchbetter than movies.Read this book because it's something different, notbecause it's good. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Team Rocket's Rockin!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Prepare For Trouble, I liked the part where James of Team Rocket was partly turned away and looking over his shoulder.

4-0 out of 5 stars Team Rocket aren't evil...!
They are just robbers just like those on our streets today, trying to make a bit of money. Yet these people aren't branded evil!If I were them, I would just travel to a place where they know Pokemon are rare and just normally capture one.Secondly, they should evolve their Meowth into Persian!5-0 out of 5 stars Different
I am not a Team Rocket fan but I find thier point of view rather interesting. This is a good bookbecause for once you get there point of view but if all the books had team rocketspoint of view this would not be 5 star material. It's 5 star material because it's different, not just the same old thing. The story itself is not that good, but it's still goodenough for a score of 50 out of 10. 49 of those points were for being different. 1 was for the story. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to the world of Pokemon
I bought this book for my 7 years old son with his first Pokemon deck, and started reading it during my flight from Sydney to Cairo. It was very interesting to the extent that I finished it all in one shot. It is truly one of the most wonderfully illustrated book I have ever seen. It helped me a lot to understand the Pokemon phenomenon and communicate with my son. It helped him also to share the Pokemon fun with his peers. The CD, which comes with the book, is excellent for both learning as well as practicing the game, and deserves the price itself. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Too short . . . but sweet!
The only reason this book doesn't get a five-star rating is because it was too short! I finished it in a snap! Also, it has a fanart (is that 2 words?) section that I dislike.5-0 out of 5 stars Pi Pikachu!
This book is so cute! The pictures are very good but theonly thing is, the pictures are black and white and shades of gray.(Exept the cover and the first page)It's a story about a girl named Hazel who has a crush on a trainer named Almond(What a weird name!)Then she trys to trick Almond into eating a cake with a love potion inside.(Which explodes)Then she meets pikachu and clefairy. You will have to find out what happens next by reading the book. P.S. This is a comic book not a chapter book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cutesy but Clever
This simple and fairly short manga was made in Japan by a woman named Yumi Tsukirino. She wrote it to cater to a young female audience (as opposed to the original manga which was based on pleasing a young male audience.)Therefore the drawings are very shoujo (girl oriented) with large eyes, bigheads, and cute hair, and the plot is very "feminine" as well (agirl falls in love with a trainer.)Though it seems like it would be alittle stupid and the basic idea is rather chauvanistic it remains a ratheradorable little comic that you may want to buy for a daughter or youngniece. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best Pokemon Gold/Silver Guide out there
Boy was I angry. I couldn't find a decent strategy guide. I was looking through amazon then going out to book stores to flip through the guides. Prima guide? Not enough info. Pokemon Gold & Silver Official Pokedex? Not good maps. Just when I thought I was stuck, I came across Pokemon Gold Version and Silver Version : Official Trainer's Guide. I flipped through the book, looking at every detail. I purchased it and brought it home. I am so glad I did. This book's maps are great, has detailed information on every trainer and every move, TM, HM, map, Gym Leader and evolution. It even has a map of the whole Pokemon World at the end. Highly Reccomended for people who are just starting to play Pokemon Gold+Silver. It also told me what pokemon only exist and gold and not silver and vice-versa. I love it.
