5-0 out of 5 stars Great book
While we are in the very, very early stages of potty training my son still loves this book and his Elmo book about being Big enough for a bed. These are great books for toddlers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Book but not waterproof
My daughter loved this book, she liked that it was Ernie a character she knew, the only downside was she took the book everywhere including the bath tub so now the book is dry again but swollen.LOL!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Daughter love to read this on the potty!
Just begining to introduce potty training to my 2yo and she LOVES this book! From reading and looking at the pictures, she has finally made the association between diapers = baby and potty = big girl. This made a big difference in her desire to go to the potty! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Potty Training Book
My daughter wanted me to read this over and over again. She was amazed and eager to learn. It really helped in our potty training experience and she was easily able to not be afraid about bm's in the toilet anymore. Before the book, she was very frighted of her poop.

5-0 out of 5 stars An entralling read
If you don't like this book, get a sense of humor. If you like it, thanks for being open minded. It's a very immature book, but it's funny and let's children know that pooping is natural and that everyone does it. Elephants poop just as humans do, but in different quantities. I had this book when I was very young and loved it just as a farce. It's a cute book, but don't hope for a plot because it's merely a summery of animals that poop.
5-0 out of 5 stars ...Because Poop Happens
If you have read any of my other reviews you will see that I am a pretty open guy. I love metaphysics and all things spiritual, but one thing that I have definitely learned while here in this world of form is that poop definitely happens.

5-0 out of 5 stars A favorite in our house!
This and "Once Upon a Potty" are my son's (age 2) favorites. It's a great potty book, and personally, I think it's a plus that it's unclear whether the child in the story is a boy or a girl - that just means either gender will easily be able to relate. As for whether it encourages toddlers to use the potty, I think it does. Whenever we read this, my son shouts "Diapers off!" and flies to the potty chair. One thing that's a real positive about this is that it's a bit long. That's been a help keeping my son sitting on the potty longer without being distracted by a toy or a noise or whatever. I'd highly recommend A Potty for Me for anyone looking to start or add to their potty training toolbox.

5-0 out of 5 stars a great potty book!
My son (2 years) has loved this book for months. In fact, our family has memorized it now, we have read it so many times.I like how it written on a child's level and emphasized that the most important part of the whole potty learning process is that the child feel good about his/her accomplishments!

5-0 out of 5 stars It's all in how you know your child will respond...
I have a little boy who will be 3 very soon.He is now at the stage where he tells me when to change poopy diapers, so I know that he is now entering the potty training stage. When looking for a book on encouraging the "potty" concept, I was so delighted to find a Karen Katz book.My child has two Katz books previous to this and loves the illustrations and easy language.Previous books were very instrumental in his grasp of sharing and not hitting. So it led me to purchase this book on potty training. So far, my son has LOVED the book and requests for me to read it over and over.He also is applying the concepts in the book to our visits to the big potty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book That Little Girls Love
I have had this book for over a year and my girls just love it.We read it every single night and they have it memorized.I have never had a problem potty training and this book makes it fun.I have 5 children and each one will potty train when ready.I will continue to read this book even to the baby.

5-0 out of 5 stars Enthusiastic about it!
This was the best book I found to help get my daughter interested in the potty. She loved the rhyming patterns, and I loved that the book showed "Hannah" making mistakes but not giving up.It was very positive and helpful in portraying a little girl wanting to get out of diapers without criticizing. I loved this book!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very cute story
I bought the boy version of this book for my son when he was potty training.I read it so many times that I had to buy the girl version for my daughter. It's a cute story and I like the rhythm.I'm just now introducing my daughter to the idea of potty training. She's still a little young to fully understand it, but she does like reading this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
When first reading this book, you may laugh or just be speechless--but I, personally, was in love with this book when I was about 3 or 4!!I don't know why, but this book really interested me.The delivery on this book was quite fast--quicker than I expected--I recommend this service and book to anyone and everyone!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Poo or cookie? You decide...
My almost 28 month old enjoys this book, and neither he nor I are bothered by the concerns others have voiced in their reviews.Rather than be put off by the "I, Joshua's mother," language, I find it amusing in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way.I suspect this was the author's intent, and it was made part of the story to give the mom or dad reader something to relate to and find amusing as they read the book to the child for the eighty-fifth time, not to voice a serious complaint to the one read to.As others have said, you can simply change the language as you're reading to whatever you choose to call bowel movements, urine or various parts of the male anatomy. My son gets that the large white thing is a potty even though it looks nothing like his, and personally I think that it only helps children to be exposed to expressionist art from an early age rather than dumbing everything down to photographs or representational drawings. However, there's a risk in choosing an expressionist venue for a how-to book aimed at 2 year olds.My son tends to interpret things somewhat literally and to be stubborn once he gets an idea in his head, and I expect others his age do as well. And he has a firmly implanted idea in his head about this book's illustrations. He thinks the poo looks like a cookie.
5-0 out of 5 stars It is fun, funny and tells it straight in kid terms
I think people saying this book could be damaging are going way too far and have lost all perspective. There is nothing wrong with it- the illustrations are cute, it is really matter of fact about how a child's body works and how potty training happens. It is also accepting of the normal mistakes along the way, no problem!

1-0 out of 5 stars Cute
Me like this book. When I got my potty, I weared it on my head like the little girl in the book. Mommy said it looked so cute.
5-0 out of 5 stars Cute way to introduce the potty
At my house, we read this with a silly British accent. It's a cute book that introduces the basic terminology of the potty with a little girl who demonstrates its use. I do think it helped my daughter be inspired to use the potty just like the girl in the book. My sister was embarrassed to read it to her because it shows (with a non-detailed illustration) what goes into the potty and where it comes out. I'm all for telling my child the truth and this does it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Once Upon a Potty of Laughter
I LOOOOVED THIS BOOK!IT REALLY INSPIRED ME!I AM 10 YEARS OLD AND I FINALLY DIDNT WET THE BED!MOMMY WAS SOOOOO PROUD OF ME!i did poo poo in my friends bedbut they got over it.they never talked to me again, but their mommy did clean their sheets.BUT THANKS TO THIS BOOK I CAN BE A BIG GIRL! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Simple and cute reading to get started
This is a good introductory book to the potty world. I love that it cover many aspects of potty training like Michael having accidents and explaining that he sat for a long time and nothing happened. The text is simple and the images are cute. I like how Michael's parents hug and kiss him after using the potty. We acted out this part at home after each reading! The book also includes a parents' guide for potty training.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book
My 2 year old really enjoys the book.He says he goes potty like Michael. He really doesn't yet, but it is a good book to introduce the concept.Well worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite new book

4-0 out of 5 stars My daughter likes it...
Is very graphic, so not for the faint hearted parent :-)
5-0 out of 5 stars Best book on potty training.
This book and "My Big Boy Potty" are the best books I could find on potty training.Realistic situations addressed.
3-0 out of 5 stars Not the Best Book Out There
Many of this book's positive qualities have been discussed already, but I will mention my favorites again: I like the simple pictures (which we all know will hold a toddler's attention better than more detailed drawings), the fact that the child in the book could be either a boy or a girl, the sidebars with answers to questions that undoubtedly will pop up ("Where does poo-poo come out?" "Why won't my poo-poo come out?"), the "tips for parents" on potty-training, and the fact that the child in the book is not punished for having an accident and not making it to the potty in time. And I love the fact that the potty in this book looks like a modern training potty, rather than a lemonade pitcher! This is a very loving book with two very loving parents and happy-looking older siblings.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is what did it
DD found this book at the library and wanted it read to her CONSTANTLY, around the time she seemed to be getting interested/willing to try the potty. She liked it so much I went and bought her her own copy.
5-0 out of 5 stars Love this book for my Daughter
My daughter really seeems to pay attention when I read this to her and she seems to understand about the potty.I bought this book and the "Too Big for Diapers" book with Ernie featured. She liked the "Too Big for Diapers" book she knew Ernie. She really related to this book because it was about another little girl. I would recommend both, unless you have a little boy then I would a book about a little boy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute pictures, very appropriate.
I wanted a book that not only I could read to my son, but one that I would feel comfortable letting a baby sitter read to him. This gets the point across and doesn't go into a lot of detail about what body parts are named. I can read this as a regular story without my son even knowing I am "teacing" him. I like that.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
I had purchased the Potty Book for Girls for my now almost 6yo daughter. It was great. She loved it.Now its my boys turn.I have begun reading the book for them and they love it.It is just like the Girl one but blue with a boy. They like "reading" it themselves. The pages are coated and much more durable.Great tool to begin potty training.

5-0 out of 5 stars Catchy, and Fun.
We read this to our twin boys every time we sit them on the potty. It helps them relax, and get excited to go. I don't think this is useful as a guide to potty train your child, but it is a cute little book that will encourage them, and keep their interest. Both of my sons have learned to recite the book themselves they love it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely helped my 2 year old go poop on the potty!
I never bother to leave feedback for items that I have purchased but this book really did help our daughter with potty training. She would rarely go poop on the potty until we started reading this book everyday.Somehow it clicked with her and now she ALWAYS goes on the potty!I love this book.Thank you!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Where's the Poop?
This is a great book that tells about all different kinds of animals pooping. This is written in a simple sentence format that keeps the attention of small children.Although the illustrations show little plops of poop for each animal, and person, it is done in a funny (not gross) way.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great
I bought this book while building a bathroom library for my daughter to read while on the potty. We've had good success with peeing, but the poop is a different story.Thought this book might help.Although she loves to now talk about her poop, and look for it under the flaps in the book, there's not a lot to the book.It could use a few more pages, words, flaps, etc. After all, the whole poop process takes longer than it takes her to go through all 5 pages, especially since she knows where the poop is hiden and looks there immediately. At least she likes it. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars 1-2-3 Pee
My two-year old son loves this book. He isn't potty trained yet, but we're working on it. This book has certainly helped. When he uses the potty, we say 1-2-3 Pee!, which is from the book. And he's thrilled about getting a sticker for the enclosed sticker chart each time he goes. We're Mo fans! We also love "Time to Say Please" by Mo Willems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Helpful even after potty training is done
My daughter's daycare had this book and I saw how much she loved reading it so we bought one for home, too. It was great while she was potty training. We talked about the messaging on each page and what was happening. The illustrations are really cute (we like to joke about how the mice are having a party on the potty) and the copy is fun and real world. It does come with cute stickers and a chart but she was never into them.
5-0 out of 5 stars Daughters love it
Our daughters love this book.Even though they have both already been potty trained, they still love this book. They have now become much better at washing their hands - and they have become more idependent in the bathroom (telling each other "Go for it dude") before going. It has worked much better than any of the other pottytraining books.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's cute... but a bit loud.
Like other reviewers, obviously it's potty training time for my son.I bought this book to help keep him sitting on the toilet a little longer... and it has worked for that.He likes to push the "toilet flushing" button... of course. The sound it makes is of a toilet flushing, and then a child giggling.Personally, I wish it stopped at just the flushing sound... the giggling child makes the sound seem to last forever, and yes, I found it to be a tad too loud as well... but maybe that's just my potty-training fatigue setting in.:-)
3-0 out of 5 stars Good book, but....
The book in itself was great, but the toilet button ended up going out only after a couple flushes. My son loved it till it quit flushing and now he won't even look at it.I still believe it is a good book for toilet training.

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for potty training!
We bought this book for our son when he was starting his potty training. What he loves most about this book is the button that you push (it makes a flushing sound). It really helped him get into potty training easier.Since he always asks to hear it when he's on the potty, we keep it in the bathroom for him.My wife and I definitely recommend this book to anyone who is potty training their son. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Why Show a Toddler Wearing the Potty Chair on His Head?
Recently I've ordered quite a few potty training books and other aides, and this has to be one of the all-time worst. This isn't the first book that gives kids 'bright ideas' like how to stuff toys or food (yes-this book mentions that you don't put popcorn in the potty chair..huh?) in the potty chair or dump it on your head.Have any of these authors actually potty-trained a real child?.Please just give us a book with a simple step-by-step guide.I rated some of the other books higher that portray kids doing silly things with the chair because at least they are easier to follow. This one skips all over the place and concludes by showing a baby smiling and sleeping snugly in DIAPERS in his crib w/ a boy walking out of the bathroom on the right.I don't know how your kiddo would react, but I could see it on my son's face:He was thinking,"Look at the happy baby who can just pee away in his diaper without having to mess with all this potty training business" --I want to be him! There a couple of reviewers who mentioned that this book was not a must-own...and it's not.The only feature I like are the flaps, but trust me - YOU COULD WRITE A BETTER, MORE CLEAR STORYLINE THAN THIS ONE. If you are looking for a clear, instructional book to provide an intro to potty training to your toddler, see: Potty Time! : (Toddlers) (Learning Ladders) by BETTY REICHMEIER.
2-0 out of 5 stars Not that important
This is not the " must have" book out there. I didn't get along any better with potty training with this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for both sexes
My twins (boy and girl) love this book. The toddler pictured is pleasantly androgenous, which may bother some people, but not us.I think it's not good behavior for a boy to urinate standing up unless there's a urinal (too many "aiming" mistakes, even with grown men!), so having the character be sitting down is important.Charming and informational. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great idea
Haven't used the item yet but it is a great idea and for kids that love stickers, I am confident it will be a big help.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pee Pee=Sticker Time!
Extremely useful and instrumental tool in generating more excitment for your little ones when it comes to potty training. This sticker book is well laid out and is very user-friendly.Overall.......highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Stickers!
Great stickers!I started potty training my son when he was almost 2 and used these stickers as rewards each time he successfully used the potty. There are some very specific stickers related to various aspects of potty training with different pictures and colors so it was always fun to choose.I didn't worry about what the sticker depicted (for example, washing hands, using the potty, etc.). He then liked to wear the sticker on his hand and take it with him to show off at school. We then used the chart by simply making an X in each box, which we hung in the bathroom. The stickers worked very well! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great little book
My granddaughter really loves this book as she is going through her "Princess" stage. We have to read it three times a day when she's visiting. However, she still hasn't gone "potty".But we're working on it!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Princess and the Potty
This book is hilarious if your daughter is like mine. The Princess refuses to do anything unless it is her idea and in her own time. She is just as independent as my little one.It was a fun read on potty training day.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for older girls
I think the reason this book works (and it helped in a way that the instructional books didn't) is that it goes to the psychology of the older, more resistant little girl. The only thing that seemed to work with our granddaughter was her desire to be "a big girl".In this story, the little princess didn't want to use the potty, ANY potty, but she DID want to wear the pretty panties! When she got her pretty panties, any potty would do.This book reinforced my granddaughter's desire to be a big girl and wear pretty panties. We had success with this book, combined with "Potty Power" DVD. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars No! No! No!
Andrew's parents ask him frequently if he needs to "Pee."He always says, "No!"But, a few minutes later the answer is "Yes, right now!"We liked this book because of it's realism. It is a typical problem for moms and dads of preschoolers. This book has a similar twist to his other books. The ending is not expected.

5-0 out of 5 stars Take a munch out of this Munsch!
This is one of Robert Munsch's best books. It deals with a subject every kid must face: having to go pee at the worst imaginable times. It is a very effective cacophony of laughs, that everyone can enjoy. I ain't in the single digit ages no more, but this is still a highly enjoyable gem of Canadian literature. Best read through Munsch's audio cassette narration. He's such a believable storyteller.

5-0 out of 5 stars Story For All Ages
This story really makes you laugh. Why does it make you laugh? It makes you laugh because everyone can relate at one time or another in their life. Bathroom talk is a subject that some people are embarrassed to discuss, but it's a necessity of life. Everyone should read Robert Munsch's story because, "We all have to go PEE!" ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Teaching Aid
Although we are still in the process of training, my daughter loves reading her Dora Potty Book and pushing the button. She has several "push the button" type potty books and the Dora one is the quietest of these (depending on your view that good be a good or a bad thing). If you have a little Dora fan then this book should be a good choice for you.The language is basic and to understand.Wish us luck!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Dora Book...
My husband and I bought this book for our 18 month old daughter because she loves Dora and we're starting to talk about potty training. We bought it three days ago and we've read it about ten times to her.At the moment she just loves it because it's Dora, but hopefully in time; once she gets closer to understanding the whole potty training thing, it'll serve a helpful purpose. There's a little button that kids can push that makes a toilet flushing sound. She can't quite push it yet so we have to do it for her. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Relevant for toddlers
My 2 1/2-year-old grandson loves this book.He likes the illustrations and the simple wording. He asked me to read it over several times.5-0 out of 5 stars Kid Friendly and Fun!
I'm surprised that no one has reviewed this book yet, since Amazon has sold lots and lots of copies ... my guess is that most teachers (like myself) are simply too busy to stop and write reviews :o)Read more
