This 19 CD set is so good that I am surprised it is even available. If you are a Lewis fan, this radio theatre production is going to be a great addition to your library. Each one is nearly word-for-word to the books themselves.

5-0 out of 5 stars An absolute MUST for your reading collection
Let me start by saying that I get goose bumps at the end of this book EVERY time I read it to my daughter, who is now 4.The illustrations and the rhymes are so wonderful. This was the first of the Bear books that I had read, and I ran right out to get the others, which are all equally fantastic. You won't be disappointed with this one.I am anxiously awaiting the release of Karma's next Bear book...

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great story!
I don't know if I love the prose by Wilson or the incredible illustrations by Chapman more! The combination of the 2 has made another Bear book much requested in my home.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Little Book
I thought this book was great - it was really colorful. The overall feel reminded me of the book "Now I Know the Ten Commandments". I recommend it to anyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars A really funny and great book!
This is what my 8 year old daughter, Emily, says about this book."Great job.I have a way to prove that I love your series of Junie B. books.I have every single book in the whole entire series so far.I even have Junie B. First Grader Aloha-ha-ha.I've never had a better book than this one!"

5-0 out of 5 stars Junie B. surprises us again!
Junie B. helps remind us how to put others first.Children tend to get so caught up at Christmas with what all they can get and need to have on their own lists that they forget to think about others - both the receiving and giving aspects of Christmas! We can all remember having to be nice to someone we did not like and Junie B. is placed in just that type of situation.Junie B.'s reactions are just what we've come to expect of her through this series, however, her actions almost catch you unprepared. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars 12 Steps for Christians
Have purchased many of this title for a prison Bible Study group I do volunteer work with. Although I haven't personally read it, the members of the study group speak highly of it and frequently request more copies.

5-0 out of 5 stars An invaluable tool for Christians
As an educator and a therapist, I have recommended this book to my Christian clients/patients and students. My clients report that the book has enhanced their recovery as they can tie their Step work to Biblical teachings. My students, particularly those who are not in recovery but are learning about substance abuse, have reported that the text has given them a base from which to understand the Steps more deeply and allowed them to feel more comfortable about their ability to use the Steps in their ministries.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Twelve Steps for Christians
My husband and I previously read this book and were very impressed. We are both in recovery and were avid believers in Jesus Christ. All of the traditional recovery books were vague in their spirituality, and we could relate and grow from this book.We currently use this book in our ministry, which is a recovery ministry in our church. We see many other people being blessed from it as well.I think people that have not had to deal with different addictions/bondages in their lives, could benefit from the steps/tools that are available in this book! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars English Class Review
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis are great children's books. They are easy to read and interesting. In The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, it starts out with Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter having to go live with their uncle because of the war and air raids from Germany. One day while playing hide and seek in the house, Lucy hides in a wardrobe and finds herself in another world; Narnia. She meets a fawn and becomes friends with him. He warns Lucy of the White Witch warning her of her power. When Lucy returns to her world, her siblings don't believe her but later on all hide in the wardrobe and walk into Narnia. Edmund betrays his siblings and sides with the White Witch, who makes it always winter, but never Christmas. They run around, following Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, trying to hide from the White Witch while trying to meet Aslan, the lion at the Stone Table. Aslan talks to Edmund and settles for him to never betray them again. The queen does not want the children to be in Narnia because of the prophecy that says that four people will take over Narnia and overthrow the queen. There is a battle over Narnia between the children and the Witch. The children win and become the rulers of Narnia.
5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books i ever read!
For my book I read the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. I thouhgt it was a very intersting book. In thr begning they moved to this professor house because of the war. He lived on the country side so it was safer there. Lucy the youngest one found a wardrobe. There was something unusual found in the back of the wardrobe. It was another world called Narnia. Lucy made some friends and so did her symbolings. One of there frinds got in trouble. Could the save him befor the white which turned hin into stone?
5-0 out of 5 stars What I thought of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
I thought this was a good book.It was full of adventure and excitement. It was easy to keep the Characters apart, instead of getting them mixed up. It was hard at first to get into but it turned out great. The symbolism was easy to understand and wonderful. It was easy reading and fun. C.S. Lewis is a good writer. I would probably read more of his books. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good story, unattractive illustrations
I thought the story of Christmas as told by this book was simple enough for my young children to understand without diluting the meaning of the holiday or hitting us over the head with religious sentiment. However, the illustrations in the book are so unappealing that I dread it when my kids bring it to me to read to them. The characters were devoid of any personality and so very, shall we say, white bread.I give it a 5 for the telling of the story and a 1 for the illustrations, evening it out to 3 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this book
I love this little book. The story is simple. The story is easy to understand. The illustrations are very good.Unlike another little Christmas book I bought for my 2-year-old, this one actually does tell the story of Christmas.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, basic version of the story
I bought this for my daughter, who is 4.I think the text is a little young for her, but it's a clear, simple version of the story. The best part is that it doesn't pile on the religious interpretations. It just tells the basic facts of the story: angel appears to Mary, Mary and Joseph prepare for the baby, donkey ride to Bethlehem, no room in the inn, Jesus born in stable, wise men follow star, angel appears to shepherds, we give gifts on Christmas "to show our love and to say Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus." I have the task of planning crafts for a Wednesday night children's program.I love doing the craft, but sometimes have a hard time finding craft that work well. This book is a wonderful resource!Every craft has a drawing of the craft and some steps envolved. All patterns are included and the book is reproducibe. It is divided into two main sections: crafts for prekindergarten-kindergarten, and crafts for 1-6 graders. However, all craft seem fun and interesting. There are craft for many stories of the Bible, and sometimes 3 or 4!I am looking forward to trying all of the crafts! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Lovely Story
This is a lovely picture book. The illustrations are beautiful. It would be a good addition to a library's Christmas collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Christmas Story
This is a heartwarming story of an elderly man and also of a mare lost in a winter snowstorm. For every previous Christmas the man and his wife had gone to the woods nearby and picked out the perfect Christmas tree. They would then take the tree back to their home and decorate it, but the crowning glory of each tree would be when she placed the star on it.He had lost his wife the previous spring and this was his first Christmas alone. He had not gone to pick out a tree because he had lost heart after his loss.
3-0 out of 5 stars The Horse Who Saved Christmas
"Finally, when the tree was just right, his wife would take out a wooden box that held a beautiful star.

My two oldest grandchildren, Bodie, age 2 1/2, and Sadie, age 5, absolutely LOVE all of the Laura Numeroff "If You ..." books! The newest one has been read over and over again, one after another!Whenever I ask Bodie if he wants me to read him a book, he goes to the bookcase and comes back with a huge armful of books and they are ALL Laura Numeroff's books!I highly recommend If You Take a Mouse to the Movies and the rest of the series, as well!

5-0 out of 5 stars Top of Its Class
F. Sundberg's review below is out of line.As a personal acquaintance of Scott Hahn and a former student, I can attest to the profound humility Scott has as a convert, scholar, and professor. He places Jesus at the center of his teaching, his prayer, and his presentations.Rather, it is Dr. Hahn's "fan club" that elicits offhanded, flagrant remarks, such as Sundberg's, which misrepresent the author altogether.
5-0 out of 5 stars What else but the best?--It's Scott Hahn!
What else can I say? Scott Hahn's put his name on it so you know it' going to be the real deal.IT IS! We have been screaming out for something like this in RCIA classes and the homeschooling world.Thank goodness finally it has been delivered.I highly recommend any and all books/tapes by Scott Hahn.

5-0 out of 5 stars And now a word from the author...
I am hearing many good things about my new book, Understanding the Scriptures.I am very grateful and excited.I am also aware of the fact that this book is apparently difficult to find in bookstores etc.(However, you can order it directly from the publisher; just "google" Midwest Theological Forum.) In any case, I hope you don't mind me sharing a small sample of what others have been telling us about the book...

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Suitable for Catholic Children
The Golden Children's Bible is recommended by some Catholic homeschooling curriculum providers. This children's book is supposedly a collaborative effort between Jewish, Catholic, and Protestant scholars. However, I did not see any evidence of input from the Catholic scholars. In skimming over the text, I noted a number of areas that would be problematic for Catholics:
5-0 out of 5 stars You have a winner.
The Golden Children's Bible reissues a classic first published in 1964, presenting new generations with a new cover with gold foil but retaining the foundations which made it so popular to prior generations. Six parts are drawn from the Old and New Testaments and cover all the major biblical stories in plain and easy language kids can appreciate. Add bright color drawings and you have a winner.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best!!!
I thought this book was great - it was really colorful. The overall feel reminded me of the book "Now I Know the Ten Commandments". I recommend it to anyone. It is one of the best Children's Bibles on the market.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Resource
I've come to know how important it is to meet the needs of today's youth. There are some youth struggling in areas where we may have not struggled and getting solid information to minister to these youth is vital. This book provides that information!

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Vital for Christian Leadership
This book is probably the best I've seen on the subject of counselling. As a teacher I have found this book useful in teaching on counselling as well as applying the principles to life situations. The book is titled, "counselling youth" but most problems that exist in adults are rooted in their youth. I have found that these principles are not only in young people but also apply to adults and their situations. Depression, anxiety, suicide etc don't vary too much with age. This book doesn't focus too much of roots of problems but does very well in dealing with the fruits. People who want to deal with the roots, read materials by John and Paula Sandford. ... Read more

What a great way to bring the great stories of the Bible to life for young readers. It's one thing to read the stories of ancient times, another to see them. The book is a great size for small hands - quite thick, but stays open easily. The colors are vibrant, the stories exciting and meaningful.

4-0 out of 5 stars Appreciating others
My children received this book as a gift at the birth of our fourth child and they love it. Now I give it as a baby gift, if it isn't the first birth in the family. It helps children appreciate the strengths of others, as well as their own, and how important we each are to the whole. The story is sometimes silly, but my children don't seem to grow tired of it.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful lesson for ALL
I use this book with my second grade class each year. The kids get hooked to the adventure and we start to 'analyze' each character. At the end each child is able to identify with one of the characters and we see how different we all are. It's also great to finish the book and see how we all need each other!

5-0 out of 5 stars Kids find comfort in this fun-filled book
I bought this book for my nephew last year, mainly because I thought his parents would get a kick out of it. My nephew is a very hard-worker, and he loves to please his parents. My neice, however, is rather strong-willed and fearless. They are so different that it has become a family joke. As my nephew, age 5, read this book, he found a message in it that has given him courage as well as an understanding of himself and the other people in his life. A year later, this is still his favorite book. He tells me about all of the characters and what each of their strengths are. I think it has helped him in his understanding of his own talents and gifts, and the idea that just because you may not excell at one thing that doesn't mean you are untalented. What a wonderful message for children. I am amazed at my nephew's ability to tie this to his own life, and I'm so happy that my gift gave him more than just a good story. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect at home study for children
I have purchased this book as a family devotional for the evenings. I have three little ones ages 7, 5, and 3, whom look forward to hearing the stories each night. It is an older book, however like many things, and oldie but goodie. Each chapter contains a story, scripture, memory verse and questions. I would highly recommend it, especially for those whom have kids ranging in age, as this book has something for everyone!

5-0 out of 5 stars An exceptional book for teaching foundational Biblical truths to young ones
This wonderful book overviews the entire scope of Biblical teachings, from a topical rather than an historical perspective. It is well-organized and explains Bible truths using illustrations and language that are very clear yet accurate for young children. Also, it explains Biblical doctrines in a way that is very oriented toward life rather than just an intellectual exercise.

5-0 out of 5 stars fantastic book for parents to read to their kids
This book, with its sweet illustrations, shows a polar bear couple tucking their little cub into bed at night as the mother polar bear answers the question that normally strikes fear into the hearts of parents: "Mommy, where did I come from?" Instead of getting into film strips, diagrams or panic attacks, the mother polar bear explains that their child was a gift from God as a result of prayer. The parents prayed for a child and God gave them this little cub. The mother does mention that the baby grew in her mother's tummy, but there is no segue into sex ed. A very sweet story for any age child and a book parents should love reading to and with their children. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not as satisfied as before
The book is not a good copy...it may be because it is old, but the pages are tearing out as I read them

5-0 out of 5 stars Timeless
I first read this book as a teenager 30 years ago.Its impact has never left me.I am now purchasing this book for my own teenage son.You will not regret reading it.

5-0 out of 5 stars My third time reading Cross and the Switchblade
This book is as relevant today as it was almost 50 years ago. I read it first as a teenager in the 60's, then as a Jr. High teacher I read it to my class, and I'm reading it again now.My Dad became a Christian after reading this book.My husband read it on guard duty in Vietnam, and became a Christian a short time later. It is a powerful book about a vibrant ministry, Teen Challenge, that is still reaching drug addicts today.Don't read this book unless you are ready for the Holy Spirit to "Grab" you! ...
