Cajun Night= Guaranteed Pleaser of All Ages
This book I used in a Christmas theme when I student taught 3rd grade.They absolutley loved it.Not only was it funny but very very well writtenand entertaining. In fact, when I came back to visit them a week after Ileft, they made me read it again.Good spinoff of The Night BeforeChristmas.

Great Book
I thought this book was great - it was really colorful. The overall feel reminded me of the book "Now I Know the Ten Commandments". I recommend it to anyone.
Needed pictures
This was a great book for a child who knows how to read. It mirrors the adult bible. We were looking for a bible story book for our 3yr old grand-daughter that we could read to her and discuss the actions in the pictures.

Portable - the size of a paperback novel.
That's what I like best about this Bible. You can read it easily - it's not too big and heavy, the pages aren't too thin. Plus the cover is very cute and makes it look just like a regular book. This was an incredibly beautiful rendering of Squanto's life.I highly recommend the book to all ages.

Excellent Thanksgiving book!
This is an excellent resource to teach children the true meaning of Thanksgiving and how much God loves each of his children and has a wonderful plan for all of them.I would definitely recommend this book!

A Pleasant Addition to Any Thanksgiving Tradition
It is hard to predict how the politically correct police will respond to the publication of this engaging children's book.While the lead character is an Indian (or Native American or whatever p.c. term is in vogue these days) which they generally view positively, he is also a Christian which they generally view negatively.The plot twist that has Squanto embracing the Christian faith should truly ruffle some feathers (so to speak) because faddish dictates say that all religions save Christianity and Judaism are beneficial. Obviously by finding his new faith, he leaves the old one behind.Read more

Best Christmas Collection Worth every cent
The stories in The Tall Book of Christmas remind us of the gifts from our heart and not the gifts from the stores.The stories are heartwarming and will fill your children's heads with happy memories of Christmas & the time you spent reading to them.My only complaint, I wish they would republish this book!

A good book for Kids!
Chicken Soup for the Kids Soul
Parents beware
I have not read this book, but my nine year old daughter has read and enjoyed most of it. Last night though, she cried herself to sleep after reading graphic stories (near the end of the book) by an incest victim whose father was sent to jail and the daughter of an injection drug user who woke up one night with police pointing guns at her. I'm sure the inclusion of these stories was well-intentioned, but there's no way they are "chicken soup" for the average kid's soul.

Inspirational

Through the eyes of an adopted child.
The book touched me in so many ways.Yes, it was brutal, but also beautiful.As someone who was adopted as a chid I was moved by the love and devotion that Julia and David had for each other.Unlike Julia and David, I and my siblings (all adopted) were raised with love. My heart aches for her, that she lost her brother.One of my brothers passed away 5 years ago... you never quite recover.

Heartbreaking and frightening
This is one of the saddest, most compelling, and most frightening books I have ever read. Why are these boot camps still allowed to exist?NHYM has operated since 1970, still running the EC as far as I know.Is there no oversight?If we can inspect nursing homes twice a month, why can't we inspect these so-called "reformatories" just as often?

In the name of religion
Jesus Land is a very powerful and very personal story.No matter what your upbringing was like or how prominent organized religion has been in your life, there is a lot to absorb from this memoir.The issues raised in this book should be familiar to everyone (e.g. a dysfunctional family that seems to have it all, the tyranny of conformity, mistaking individualism for disobedience, unqualified authority figures who rule through fear and violence, misplaced ideals that lead to the suffering of others), but, fewer people have had to live with so many of them in such a short span of time.

The best Bible storybook for early readers
I have purchased several of these books.I gave 1 to a young mother who reads it to her 5-year-old every night, and I gave 1 to a 7-year-old who loves reading it by herself.I teach English As A Second Language, and I used it while teaching a Chinese couple.They could read it, and they loved it!It gets to the heart of the story, asks thoughtful questions, and has been a learning experience for me too!I thoroughly recommend it!

This is a very good beginners reader bible.My son lost his first one at church, so I bought another.It is at about a K-1 grade reading level.There are a few questions at the end of each story, which are very good for prompting discussion.The stories are simplified and incomplete, so you will still need to read to your child a good storybook bible. ... I'm a Buddhist and I love this book!
I was really, really concerned about buying this book after reading the reviews on Amazon, but I have been very pleasantly surprised by this book. It has helped not only my 5 year old, but also me! The Worry Tree alone is worth the price of the book. I don't care if there is some Angel imagery involved, it is comforting to my child. The author gives suggestions in the book as to how to deal with any imagery that is offensive to you.
Even My Four Year Old Boy Loves This!
I knew my daughter would love this, however, I wasn't so sure about my son.I was wrong.He asks for these every night!I think they help -- he's something of a worrier.These stories give your child a pleasant happy space to begin their night's sleep from.

A Bible that kids will read!
I am a children's ministry coordinator at our church.I searched for a Bible that would capture the interest of elementary aged children.This one absolutely does.It is easy to understand, has compelling pictures and historical facts that help explain a time period that is difficult for young folks to wrap their minds around.Families are buying copies for home use as well.Be careful tho, it comes in two sizes and the larger one is much more kid-friendly than the pocket size.Makes a great read-together book for parents and kids.

almost identical!
I actually really wanted this set because the covers were so much better than the english versions, and I was unhappy that the cover was different and has a huge circle on it saying "now a major motion film!" The quality of the translation is great though, and even the pictures are the same as the set I have. I would recommend this book as a spanish translation!! ... Read more

Better for a bit older child
I read the other reviews before buying this book. I will echo what they say in that this is a great resource for teaching manners in a variety of circumstances. My only other comment would be it is directed towards a child of about age 8 and up. While it can be manipulated and worked a bit to be for a younger age, it is my opinion that it is better suited towards an older child.

Manners Made Easy
This is an excellent book and it has ready to teach lessons that are fun. I just love it. I ordered several books and this one is the best so far.

Buon Natale, Strega Nona
This is another wonderful book by Tomie de Paola - simple but powerful message, beautiful illustrations, great story.As usual, wise Strega Nona teaches Big Anthony (and us) an important lesson. Aren't you ever going to learn Big Anthony?

A beautiful book!
This book is gorgeous!The artwork is captivating even for my little girl who's only two.And what a great learning tool for little girls as they delve into God's Word.It really makes Proverbs 31 relevent for even little girls.I'm going to buy one for each of my little girls because it has a place to personalize it with a picture and I think it will be a great heirloom book.
