Brain Quest cards
We love the Brain Quest card sets.We have several sets for our 5 and 3 yr-olds.Their size and the fact that the cards are secured together make them perfect for slipping in a purse or backpack.They have proven invaluable when waiting in restaurants.The only problem we've had is getting the kids to stop playing when the food comes.We've also played so much that they have several of the sets memorized so it would be nice to have more sets within each age group.

Daughter loves them, but well before Kindergarten
My daughter loves Ryan the Lion and would spend hours on brainquests, but at 3 she could easily answer 90% of these questions.

Great fun, and educational, except for an occasional error.
This game is exceptionally diverting for boring car trips and waiting time for medical appointments.The kindergarten game does seem more appropriate for 4 year olds rather than 5-6 year olds if the child has had a lot of exposure to letters, colors, shapes etc.There are a few dreadful lapses in accuracy, among the worst being the placement of a penguin next to an Eskimo and igloo. The Eskimo/igloo cliche is annoying, but the transposition of that poor little penguin from Antarctica is inexcusable. Our pre-schooler concluded the penguin must be just visiting. ... Read more

What a find!
I'm doing my student teaching in a master's program in Oregon.I'm in a school district that doesn't have set 'guidelines' for what you teach and when you teach it so when my supervisor said I was going to teach 'literary genre', I was lost.I researched the topic and quickly realized that it was a dry and boring topic that would need a lot of help.I found this book online and thought it could work (even though it's geared toward 4-8 grade students, my 3rd and 4th graders did wonderfully).I was amazed at how much information was stuffed into that book and how many reproducible-quality worksheets were available.Nothing in the book was just 'so-so'- it was all fantastic and the kids LOVED the topic and the interesting and creative writing assignments.Boy, just when I was at my wits end creatively speaking, in stepped this book (by scholastic, OF COURSE) and saved me.Teachers and parents, this is a fabulous resource.

Brain Quest - kids love it!
My kids love Brain Quest and we have used it for each of them from K through 4 so far.There are 1500 questions and answers.The questions are age appropriate and are challenging but are no so difficult as todiscourage children.My son will pick up "the deck" (this bookis really a stack of cardboard quiz card bound at one corner) and quizhimself for fun.What he didn't know before he might now.I highlyrecommend this educational tool. ... Great for road trips
My son loved the Q&A format of these cards and we exchanged "high fives" every time he got a "genius point."The cards include a good mix of super easy questions to more challenging ones--all targeted for a specific age level. It would be a stretch to call this game "educational" but the back and forth interaction between quizzer and quizzee provides great family fun. Great World History Review!
I bought this book because all of the other books that I found were about 400 pages.They weren't concise and to the point which, is what I needed.This book is only a mere 130 pages in length.The pages are all neatly color coded and range from Ancient History (4000BC-AD 500) to The Modern World (1700-Present).I used this book as an adult to review the major points in World History.It's really a book meant for a younger population (ages 9 and up) but, when you don't have that much time to study or really need it as a quick reference it will the job with ease.I used it to help me pass the CSET which is a teaching requirement.

This book, though it is suggested reading for 4th to 6th graders, was helpful to me.Not only am I an adult, I am in the process of getting certified to teach high school social studies.It provided me the essentials that I must cover for any class (other than at the collegelevel).The page layout is excellent; the variety in print type and coloras well as maps and pictures made it a"fun" reading and learningexperience. Excellent for Kids
I have a 13 year old boy that has had trouble with behaviors for years.This book helps him understand that he is not the only one and talks to him in a way he can understand. We usually sit down and discuss his answers and this helps him stay focused. It also helps bring us closer together and opens the lines of communication.

If You're Smart, Who Cares?
You know smart kids are passed off as nerds in school and then they become unhappy losers? I know it's sad, but, do you want your little one to turn out like that? Lose all confidence, then end up at some street corner asking for money? Since I doubt it, I highly do not recommend this problem.
A great way for kids to show off what they know

Sing a SOng of Tuna Fish is good for future writers
This book made me Laugh so hard I liked her first book Sahara Special but this is even better.The teacher used thhe book to help us journal and I thought it would be boring but I could not wait for her to read these funny stories out loud and then write my own stories about things like school and grandparents. This author writes about the city in a way that is FOR REAL and not boring and now I write in my journal every day because I want to be a writter.My only comnplaint is this book is not rewally about tuna fish but I dont even like tuna fish so who cares.

Wow.What a Gift This Would Be For a Teacher!
Read this book to your kids because it's a great story.Read it because it'll help them appreciate what their teachers do for them.And then, maybe give a copy to their teacher as a gift.This wonderful book is a tribute to those who pour their lives into children who can then go forward with dreams and the ability to do anything.
