Colourful and helpful
This Advanced Level Physics book is one of the best I have seen. The book is divided into 7 themes (Mechanics, Materials, Fields, Waves, Electricity, Inside the Atom and Physics in Medicine). The physical concepts as well as the formulas involved are explained in plain text as well as on clearly labelled diagrams. An excellent stydy guide for A level students

Seperate but not equal
To me this book is one of the best books i've ever read.This book is about the struggles of young african americans and their struggles with education.In 1957 they tried to get black students to go in a white school and they had to walk to school by a wall of soldiers.This book is also good because each chapter is a different story about another persons struggle. A Little Relief for Test Anxiety
For children with test anxiety this is a helpful book with humor children can relate to

Horribly overpriced.Buyer beware.
Never before, in years of purchases at Amazon, have I ever actually returned an item until I purchased this book (and its companion). ($$$)dollars is WAY too much to charge. I bought this for my 10 year old son, but the content is skimpy and mostly drawings. There is at most a paragraph or two on a page, with huge text and lots of white space. This is more like an essay paper than a book. Thanks but no thanks...I'll take my ($$$) back! ... Read more

Good, but tough!
I love this series of trivia questions.As a teacher, though we try to have something constructive to do every moment of the day, sometimes (after a quiz or test that took a shorter amount of time than allowed for in the plan) there are a few moments to "fill" with something educational.

This is a great book to read,it gives you great tips on writing book reports.I am homeschoooled and I found this book very helpful.

While directed to teens, many a parent will want to read Where Should I Sit At Lunch?, which tells how to get the most of the high school years. From handling schoolwork and resolving family conflicts to looking for friends and assessing groups to join, here's a handbook filled with quizzes, checklists, and lessons on life. None are so culturally impoverished as those unfortunates who are barred from the intellectual legacy of the human race because they cannot read.
A Must for Teens, Professionals and Parents
I am a clinician working with adolescents.I have "Where Should I Sit at Lunch" prominently displayed in my offices(and my own home).Numerous patients have picked up the book and asked to borrow it.They have come back saying the book was very helpful and made them feel more comfortable about their worries.As one 14 year old said.. "it's so nice to see that other people feel the same way".
This is what high school really is like!
I thought this book was right on.It definitely helps.High school is such a hard time now, and most parents don't understand that.They always say that they understand because they were there, but honestly their experience is different because each individual's experience is different.All the topics in the book are exactly what high school teens are thinking about.Sorry parents, but it is the truth and it's good to have a guide that actually hits the true points of high school and not the ideal points.There is so much peer pressure that sometimes we make the wrong decisions, but with something like this guide to fall back on then there is not as much to worry about.Also, most guides are geared towards girls, but they are not the only ones with problems. It was very helpful!
I'm a junior in high school and I've been reading this book bit by bit this semester to look for ways I can enhance my college applications.I've done all the typical high school stuff like being assistant editor of the newspaper, run track, and am the president of a couple of clubs, but I really want to stand out when I apply to colleges next year.I found a lot of great ideas in this book for doing just that--such as finding a study abroad program for this summer--I found one in Italy--and organizing a service program at my school. This book gets a mom's stamp of approval
I bought this book for my two daughters after reading about it in a newsletter.I thought the title and premise sounded interesting: a book aimed at teens who are looking for "something more" from their high school experience than just joining a team sport or working on the high school yearbook.Not that these activities aren't great--they are--but some teens want to "go outside the box," just as this book's title implies.My girls were interested in filling their weekends with some interesting activities, and this book gave them--and me--a ton of ideas. Learning fun using language arts,math,science,social studies

Informative and a great read for kids
This book is terrific.It is great for any child that is in the beginning years of school. An Excellent Resource!
I bought this book a while ago, because it looked informative and interesting.(Not to mention that I will be starting high school next year!)I started to read it, and was very glad I had bought it.Of courseit tells you all that usual stuff about doing what you want, finding outwhat you like, and stuff like that, but it also has very practicalinformation.It even has other resources and places you can go for help.
