5-0 out of 5 stars These books are GREAT!
There are not enough good books out there for boys to read & spark there interest, but these did it. They loved the characters & their funny names. They were begging me to buy the rest in the series & I did. Try these out, you won't be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sure to be a hit among pre-teens
This is the first in a new series from beloved children's author R. L. Stine of Goosebumps fame.Bernie Bridges wants Sherman Oaks' fancy new watch. How will he get it?He challenges the residents of Sherman's residential home to a pie eating contest. They will pick a representative for them and Bernie's group will choose a person to represent them.Of course, Bernie has a secret plan. Will it work? You will have to read the book to find out.The Big Blueberry Barf-Off will appeal to most school kids between 8 and 12 years of age.A departure from the Goosebumps style it is a good read filled with descriptions of the gross and messy stuff children that age like to read about while still providing an interesting story with plenty of twists and turns. This series should appeal to boys where other titles often fail. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 *Ms. Frizzle Leads the Way
A fun book in the "Magic School Bus" series, this is a fact- and pun-filled account of Ms. Frizzle's students (and parents) going on a field trip to learn more about bats. Some of the kids are a little nervous at first: Ralphie believes that bats are really vampires! The field trip shows otherwise, as bat-facts are presented in a creative and interesting manner.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Another good story
Book three of the Rotten School series this one has Bernie Bridges trying his best to get a date with April-May June. But April-May is not interested in a boy who can't seem to keep out of trouble. So, Bernie tries his best to be a good student. That means he can't be involved in the slug race... or can he?Another story with better than average appeal to the pre-teen reader, The Good, the Bad and the Very Slimy is recommended. ... Since children love 'The Magic School Bus' television show, this book about sinking and floating will be sure to grab the attention of those inquisitive young minds! It serves as a great asset to a science classroom,or your own home library.Although it is kind of lengthy, I highlyrecommend it for insurance of complete understanding of the sinking andfloating process.Happy reading! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars If you've ever taught second grade...
I discovered Dan Gutman's Weird School series from tutoring a second grade boy who "hated reading."Not only did he like the books, I loved them!
5-0 out of 5 stars ACrazyLife
I think that everyone should read Miss Daisy Is Crazy because it's a fun book. You can learn about her craaazy life.If you laugh and make different voices it will make it even funnier.
5-0 out of 5 stars This book is really cool.
This book is written by the famous author Dan Gutman. This book is good for ages 8-10. It is a really good book that I know you will enjoy. This boo is so funny. It is really funny. Miss Daisy is teaching second grade and she doesn't even know how to do anything. She is really dumb. The kids in her class are even smarter than miss Daisy. That is why the book is called Miss Daisy is Crazy. I hope for readind my review it will make you read this fabulous book. I hope you are going to enjoy this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bee-siest Field Trip of All Time
"The Magic School Bus: Inside a Beehive" represents a slight departure for author, Joanna Cole, and illustrator, Bruce Degen.Written in 1996, this book could easily have been all about our friends, the insects.Because, as student Dorothy Ann explains in the opening pages, "There are more insect species on earth than all other animals put together!"Indeed, you need look no farther than your own backyard (or a few dusty corners of your home) to find bugs of all shapes and sizes crawling around, buzzing about, and foraging for food.
4-0 out of 5 stars More Science!
My son is 4 years old and we read to him a lot. Now, before bed, he announces, "Mom, you know what kind of book to read....ONLY SCIENCE!"He loves science, and the Magic School Bus is a great, fun way to introduce it, even to a preschooler!

4-0 out of 5 stars Beekeeper's Review
Kids (of all ages) ask the darndest things. When we work fairs or are identified as beekeepers in public, we are bomberded with basic questions regarding honeybees. This book was bought for my mother as much as for mybrother's son. He asks her questions difficult to answer without pictures,"How do bees make wax...?" This book goes into enough detail toanswer all the "How do...?'s" likely to come up regardinghoneybees. A fine book for any child interested in insects. Also a goodselection to temper the fears of those children that may fear bees. Thepages are a little busy, otherwise would have gotten 5 stars. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A Kids Favorite
I read this book aloud to my 1st and 3rd grade daughters. They loved evrey bit of the story. This book is a lot of fun.

5-0 out of 5 stars An awesome book of my favourite school
I really enjoyed this book. I would love to have a principal like Mr Klutz because he would do really funny things and if we studied extremely hard he would give us very interesting field trips. I think this is better than the first book (Miss Daisy is Crazy) because it has more interesting ideas for example in the first book AJ made Mr Klutz wear a gorilla outfit and change the school into a video arcade but in this book AJ makes him kiss a pig and climb a flagpole. In addition once when AJ was sent to the principal's office, Mr Klutz was hanging upside down from the ceiling like a bat. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

5-0 out of 5 stars More fun in school!

4-0 out of 5 stars Gutman Hits it Well, but it Goes Foul
This is the third in Mr. Gutman's new series and it was by far my first-grade son's favorite of the three. The narration by AJ, the reluctant school-goer, is engaging and the character of Mrs. Loopy is well-drawn and entertaining.Throughout the book Mrs. Loopy makes attempts to liven up books for AJ in order to turn him into someone who doesn't hate books.Judging by how well the author lured my son (a reluctant reader) into the book, Mrs. Loopy met her objective.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Story but Short on Facts
I would give this a three, only my son loves this book because he loves anything about ants.We read Ms Cole`s MAGIC SCHOOL BUS VISITS A BEEHIVE back to back with this. The comparison is too great. It would be terrific to see a layout of the ant colony`s system of tunnels and chambers. Also, no mention is made of the drones:in the story Phoebe says "Without the queen, there wouldn`t be eggs," but without drones, there wouldn`t be eggs, either.I don`t know if they showed them in the television show, but there were no pictures of the pupae, nor the interesting fact that the ants stroke them and receive a tasty secretion in return. The book was interesting, but short on information;more so than some of the others adapted from the TV series. If your child wants to find out about ants there are better books out there.

4-0 out of 5 stars good teaching resource
In this book a class ventures into the busy world of an ant farm. They learn all about the different roles of the different types of ants in each colony. The story is interesting to children and a lot of information about ant communities is presented.

3-0 out of 5 stars 'The Magic School Bus Gets Baked' is questionable
I don't think children's books should glorify these sorts of "trips".But the colors are vivid and I think most of the unsuitable references will go over the heads of its younger readers.

5-0 out of 5 stars MAgic school bus "cake"
I liked this book, it was interrasting and it had made me read more and omre till i got through it all.I like the part when the shrunk and the guy was chaseing them and the flew into the cake and went into the oven i didn't think there would make it out.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kitchen Chemistry Fizzes
When their inimitable school bus goes on the fritz (or should I say, "frizz"?,) the students get worried:this is one field trip they don`t want to miss. They`re trying to give their unique teacher a surprise birthday party and need to get to the bakery for the cake. When they finally reach their destination, the unstable bus suddenly shrinks, with everyone in it, to the size of a moth. They dodge the baker`s fly swatter and Ms Frizzle while using kitchen chemistry to get the job done.My boys and I miss the volume of information and mini "reports" of the original series, but they still learn and have fun at the same time. They have a new respect for cooking, as edible chemistry. And the baking soda experiment at the back of the book is a rainy day standby in our household:we love the fizz from the Frizz! ... I thought that this book was brillantly written! go AMM!I mean of course there is going to be compeition and everything with the club, and how sometimes parents can be so impossiable! even though we know that they do care they seem a little overprotective and dont really listen to what we have to say, so i like this book a lot. and i like it when stacey and charollete bonds, this book is realy good. and its so sad how stacey was upset because she cares about the babysitters club because she doesnt want to lose any of her friends, and i liked that her and laine[her former best friend] were cool again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very great book
I liked this book because it shows kids how to be responsible when babysitting. It shows them the right and the wrong things to do when babysitting. I also liked this book because it was an awsome story.
