5-0 out of 5 stars Alice In A Rapture , Sort OfBy: Phyllis Reynods Naylor
Alice Is A Normal 12-Year Old Girl Who Is On Her Way To The Seventh Grade! Her Friends Elizabeth And Pamela Are Always Telling Her What The Right Clothes To Wear Are And Things Like You Need A BoyFriend For Seventh Grade. So She Tries To Do All These Things.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not appropriate for girls under 13
My daughter found this book in our elementary school library. After reading it myself I have requested it be taken off the shelf.Although it is a good read and written in language for students that age, the content is not appropriate for girls in elementary school.Reading that girls intentionally deceive their parents, are overly focused on their looks and are concerned how others view their bodies, not to mention learn about what 'baseball' REALLY means to boys is not what I expect for my elementary daughter and question whether it is a necessary way to attract the attention of even middle school aged girls.I believe it is a complete disregard of the morals we want our daughters to learn.I am disappointed the author chose this content!Other books she's written are wonderful!

5-0 out of 5 stars The First Time
This book was so good!In this book Liz's boyfriend Finnis pressuring Liz to have sex with him. But what Liz dosent know is that Finn is cheating on her.Her roomate Sam knows that Finn goes out with girls, sleeps with them, and then dumps them, and he knows that Finn is cheating on Liz. Does Sam get though Liz in time? Nina meets a guy and starts blowing off her studding time and blows off her classes. But can she blow off class again? Its pledge week. Chole really wants to get in the Theats. But how far will she go to get in? This was such a great book. Buy it!

4-0 out of 5 stars This book was good
I truly enjoyed reading this book, How far Sam goes to try and protect Elizabeth from Finn. This book show Sam has a really good side even though he is a slob but he is very good person who truly cares about Elizabeth. Definetly must read!

4-0 out of 5 stars This Book Is GOOD!
What I like best about this book was Elizabeth & Finn's sex saga. I had a feeling that Finn was just toying with her. Choloe's part is second. It was GREAT that Jess was nice enough to let Choloe and Val have a 2nd chance ( At what? You read the book!)And Nina and her new boy was 3rd. It was exciting. Finally, last place was Todd. I mean, who wants him when he dumped Liz? That was a dumb move... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Brilliant
I don't know how Francine Pascal can write so many wonderful books.I really got into this one.But it didn't really have Maria and Ken in it at all.I was excited to head about them because they finally got back together, but this book was more about Jessica and Jeremy. But it was still great.I love all the senior year books!

4-0 out of 5 stars This book was good
In this book, Jess and Jeremy have to make decisions about College. Jessica realizes she wants to stay here in Sweet Valley while Jeremy wants to travel the country. While they are fighting, a character from the past shows up. As in SVJH. To find out who it is just read the book. Conner and Elizabeth have officially broken up after Conner finds out that Evan had a fling with Elizabeth during his absence. So he gets together with Alanna. Two recovering alchoholics should not get together. They are just baaaaaaaaaad for eachother. Actually, Alanna is bad for Conner. That is basically the plot of the book.

2-0 out of 5 stars uuuuuhhhhhggggg.......
in my opinion this book was rather boring. i mean, conner & alanna just dont seem right together. shes trying so hard not to seem like a fake in front of him, but yet she does it at the beggining with tia, andy ,& evan. she tries not to show her true self, which is her main problem.though i dont really think she lied to conner about her family. i just found this book to be boring in all areas. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Magic School Bus "Goes Upstream"
The Magic School Bus "Goes Upstream" is one of the better books in the series, because of the science and the knowledge you receive. I am 9 years old, but I read all the books in the series when I was 7( although I read the new ones as they come out). The facts are easy to remember, forexample, thier keen sense of smell allows salmon to "smell out"their food.Salmon have a lot of predators like bears and sharks. This bookis better for younger kids then older kids, because they give you onlysimple, quick facts and nothing more. However, THIS BOOK IS GREAT! ... Jessica uses it for her own advantage but will things backfire? Also Jessica is falling for the snobby, rich Bruce Patman(which all of you need to read the next book to see what happens with them) This book was really good and I recomnd it to any Sweet Valley fans.

3-0 out of 5 stars a series of good books which are interesting
I read a good book called The Magic School Bus Gets All Dried Up. The author of the Magic School bus is Joanna Cole. My favorite character is Ms. Frizzle. Ms. Frizzle is the type of teacher I would like to have because she is energetic and fun. I think I would learn alot of stuff if I were in her class because of all those field trips they go on. This is an educational book for children because there is alot of information you can learn. Sometimes they go to the zoo, beach, and other places. My favorite part of the book is when the bus shrinks into a small size so the class can have a closer look at things. These books are also a tv show. This is why I like this book, so go out and read it.

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS BOOK

3-0 out of 5 stars Better Alice books out there
I have read 5 alice books and I think this one did not have quite as a good plot as others . This one is kind of boring , but, it goes deeper into her dad and her brother lesters (now 20) love life . There is still the choice that lester has to make , crystal or marilyn . Still my 2 personal favorite alice books are "alice in blunderland" (ages 10-14) , and "alice in rapture ,sort of (ages 11-15) Otherwise buy this book because if you are going to read the seiries , might as well go all the way .

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the funnier Alice books!
This book takes us through the winter of Alice's seventh grade year. She falls in with the popular crowd and learns what it is like to be one of the beautiful people, or "Famous Eight" as they're referred to. But the more "in" she becomes, the more "out" Elizabeth seems to be; leading Alice to miss the simple days when she, Elizabeth, and Pamela were close friends. Alice has some serious thoughts about whether it's worth the boredom to be popular or whether she should just be herself. The subplot involving Lester's love life (Marilyn, Christal, and now Loretta thrown in the mix) and Alice's fathers love life (will he propose to Miss Summers?) make for some of the novels funnier moments. This is one Alice book you don't want to miss, with some thoughtful lessons about acceptance and popularity thrown in.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awsome Book
All but Alice is a fantastic book written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The author makes you feel like you are Alice. Alice is a selfconcious young lady. Elizabeth, is vein, and Pamela is enthusiastic. Alice started seventh grade, and also joined the All Stars Fan Club and the earring club. She becomes one of the famous eight. Still there are situations to fix. Can she be a sister with girls who want to be her brother???s (Lester) girlfriend? What will she do when her father dates her teacher, Miss Summers? So why don???t you read the book and find out.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Jessica is Mrs.Michael Mcellery
Jessica and Michael McCellrey[sp] are married and Elizabeth keeps it a secret. She invites Tom and Elizabeth over for dinner, but the dinner is ruined,so they order mexican take out from a restaurant. William White is getting awfully close to Elizabeth, but so is Tom Watts, she is his broadcast partner.

4-0 out of 5 stars One of the most intriguing.
Believe me thisbook is great. If you read the previous one then you will love the heartache in this one.Jessica is now officially Mrs. McAllery and her brother does not know.Generally the book showed apicture of Mike bein judged and all while silly old Jessica had to keep her head high above everyone s notion that it will not work.Liz on the other hand is still tryna find out the rascist secret society on campus.Plus there is a deliciously dangerous twist at the end.All in all it is a great book.

4-0 out of 5 stars And the award for the worst wife goes to
Jessica Wakefield (McAllery whatever)! Poor Mike begin stuck married to a witch like that! Why does she never take any resposiblity for her actions? It's pretty obvious that after the big fight in the previous book she only has two choices either to leave him which is obviously hard to do but definately not impossible since Liz gives her that option right at the beginning or she tells her parents and takes her marriage seriously. But oh no she can't do either of them she just goes on lying and scheming to her husband. I don't think the author writes the character of Mike particularly well she obviously expects the reader to hate him but gives them no reason to do so. He's suppose to be a drunk yet through out the whole story line there are only two scene where he is actually drunk. The twist in Mike's character from ealier books is rather unbelievable and obviously just done by the author after she suddenly remebers that Jessica is not suppose to have a boyfriend for too long. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great!
I really liked this book! (I've been a SVU fan for a while.) It was really annoying though how Tom and Liz really like each other but it takes them so long to hook-up!!! It's sad about Jess and Mike. Jessica always gets the wrong guys. What's up with that? Anyway this book was great! Everyone should read it. (Well girls anyway)

5-0 out of 5 stars I Still Love It
I had never been a fan of Sweet Valley books until I began reading the University series.I have to say that I loved the Elizabeth and Tom relationship, and this book portrayed the beginning of their romance in a very heartfelt, sentimental manner. It also contains some very good action scenes when Elizabeth gets in trouble with the fraternity she is doing a report on.Once again, Jessica's actions give the book lots of drama. It's been five years since I first read The Love of Her Life, and even though I guess I've "outgrown" these books, I still occasionally pick it up and reread it again. This was probably one of my favorite books of the SVU series (I read it straight through in 5 hours), and unfortunately, after some of the characters from the early stories started disappearing, I stopped reading...but the first books were wonderful, and this is most certainly a good read for anyone who likes drama, and a good old teenage romance.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book rocked!
I LOVED this book. I knew it was William from the very beginning. And Ilove Tom. He and Elizabeth are so much better together then Liz and Todd (Ihate Todd) The thing with Jessica and MIke was also really interesting. AndCeline actually does something good for once. ... Read more

I liked when everyone started square dancing on the stage. It was really funny. Ranger Lily was my favorite character because she kept disappearing whenever Bigfoot came to the class. The Bailey School Kid books are the best series of books I have ever read.Jonny, age 7

4-0 out of 5 stars Naylor does it again.
Phyllis Reynolds Naylor has mastered the art of speaking in the utterly believable voice of a teenage girl. Thirteenth in the ever-popular Alice series, Alice Alone finds our heroine, Alice McKinley, beginning high school as a ninth grader, and on the verge of a break-up with her boyfriend Patrick. Although she wins tremendous cool points with her class by persuading her dad to let her host a co-ed sleepover, hosted by her long-suffering brother Lester, it won't carry enough weight to keep her from self-doubt in the wake of the break-up.
4-0 out of 5 stars A teenage favorite
Reading this book reminded me of how much I LOVED reading Nancy Drew books as a kid.I could not read them fast enough. When I tried to read one recently as an adult I found I could not make my eyes advance from one word to the next.
4-0 out of 5 stars A parent's review
This is the third Alice book I've read, and so far, it's the one I enjoyed the most. Even though it's been a long time since I was fourteen, I really felt Alice's emotions and confusion over the problems with her boyfriend Patrick.
