5-0 out of 5 stars Review by 9 year old boy
I think people should read this book, especially people that like Bionicles. I liked this book a lot.It is interesting, exciting, and fun to read.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for bionicle fans
I think this book should have four stars because it has very good dialog but some times it is pretty hard to understand the story. If you are a bioicle fan,I suggest you read this book because when you are a Bionile fan,it's alot more interesting. I hope you have as much fun as I had reading the book.

i have read all of the replica books from Amy, Number Seven to Amy, on Her Own, and of all this book is the best. You should definetaly read the whole series, because it is thrilling and exciting, and so fun to hear where the story goes. Marilyn Kaye has gotten me addicted to these books, and if you read them, you'll see why!!!!!!!!!:)

1-0 out of 5 stars A Terrible Waste of Time and Talent
I've enjoyed reading the whole series along with my daughter over the past few years. We'd get each book as it came out; she'd read it first and then I'd read it and then it was fun to talk about the new book. But as the series went on, or I should say dragged on, the plots turned from compelling to silly, and our interests waned.Still, we kept up and wanted to see it to the end.We did, and we're sorry that a talented author wasted her gifts and our time.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Slow but well written!
I enjoyed reading Remnants #8 Mother, May I?. The Remnants have finally settled into a part of the Ship, Mother, called the Zone. Billy has become the programmer, controlling the whole ship. One day, Jobs finds a place resembling Earth in the sky, but if Billy takes the Ship to Earth, it will break the Big Compromise. Billy sends Jobs and some of the other Remnants down into Mother's "basement" to investigate the part of Mother that Billy can't access. Back in the Zone, Blue Meanies are demanding to see Yago, so thet can receive the "touch." Who or what will Jobs and others find in the "basement"? Why are the Blue Meanies demanding to see Yago? Will Billy break the Big Compromise, and take the Ship to Earth?3-0 out of 5 stars Far from K.A.'s best work
500 years after they left Earth, the remaining Remnants(numbers still dwindling), have finally seemed to settle down after the "Big Compromise". However, everyone knows it is no "real" life, for everything is computer-generated by Billy. So, when Jobs finds a mysterious object that looks very much like the remnants of what "Earth" used to be, will the Remnants be able to convince Billy to break the Big Compromise and turn the ship around? And what about all the other troubles brewing that everyone still doesn't know about? Such as Yago, and his secret plottings with the Blue Meanies? What about Amelia, a new Remnant they discover, whose mutation is beyond weird...and the questions she raises about what Billy truly is? What about the other missing remnants that Amelia hints at? 1-0 out of 5 stars LOUSY!!!
"Mother May I?" went at a slow pace compared the previous Remnants books. Billy has seized control of mother, to an extent, and the aliens and humans have reached a compromise. But, once again, its the stupid earthlings that ruin the compromise. Surprise! Surprise! War comes up again. I think that K.A. Applegate has done a very good job of proving a point: we humans are a bunch of selfish, power hungry jerks. Yago and 2Face are at it again. And their quarrels now involve more than just the other humans. Basically, read it if you must. I think I'll get number 9 at the local library when it comes out. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Yeerks, What are Yeerks?
Ever dream of weird looking creatures out of this world? Well in the series the Animorphs there is plenty. In particular
4-0 out of 5 stars my review
I was a bit disappointed. I enjoyed this book, which is basically about the Animorphs finding that oatmeal can make it so Yeerks don't need to go to the Yeerk Pool, but they go crazy, so the human controlled by the Yeerk can control him/herself most of the time. Sadly, these Controllers are considered insane and end up going to insane asylums. A good book overall, but I'm giving it a four out of five because the Yeerks that went crazy are never mentioned again (I'd have thought that a whole bunch of people being unjustly sent to insane asylums would be important, but that's just my opinion).

3-0 out of 5 stars not the best
In this book the Animorphs and Ax find out that instant rasien cinnimon oatmeal will make a Yeerk free from Kandrona, but the Yeerk will go insane. The Yeerk will stay in the host's head, no needing Kandrona, but the host will be in control almost all of the time. So the animorphs morphs moles and dig into a bat cave, then morphs bats and go into the Yeerk pool. Read the book to find out what happens next! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good guide for first two seasons, wish it had third
I've got a copy of Topping's "The Complete Slayer", that covers all 7 seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer plus the Kristy Swanson movie, based on that purchase I decided to order this book from Amazon. If it follows that book in form and layout it will be an exhaustive guide to the first two seasons of Roswell, giving details most people would never think to look for. It should be well worth owning, especially with the DVD sets out for purchase now.
4-0 out of 5 stars Another Topping show guide..
Keith Topping has become an expert in crafting fun to read episode guides on our favorite tv shows (see his Buffy guide).Roswell has been off the air for several years but lives on in syndication (Sci-Fi) and picks up new fans (like me!) with every showing. This guide is great to read along with the episodes- it helps you get the very most out of each show.4-0 out of 5 stars Good but not great
Topping is always original, witty and high on irony.Reading his books can be more entertaining that the programme he is commenting on.For this reason, this is an excellent buy and well worth every penny (or cent) you spend.Topping writes a detailed account of every episode, yet more importantly he discusses issues that are raised, and is not frightened of being controversial or critical. While this is highly recommended, if you want to see Topping at his best, read his guide on buffy. It will blow you away. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars What happened to research?
K.A. has forgoten one of the most important things when she wrote the Remnant series. Realism. The first book was by far the best in the series, a book that I liked more then most of the animorphs books even. Then, something happened. I lost my connection with the setting as soon as I figured out the nature of the "planet" the Remnants reside on.
4-0 out of 5 stars A dark, depressing, intruiging page-turner
After Lost and Found this book manages to rise above its predecessor in quality, but delves even deeper into Applegate's dark, depressing, intruiging story.4-0 out of 5 stars Only good for sci-fi fans
I read this book in one day and really enjoyed it. It has a intersting storyline and many deaths. If you like sci-fi books and surival books then you will enjoy this. One problem. Way to short. I finished this book in three hours. Still recommened it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars JQ Books are for all Anakin/Obi-Wan fans !
This story begins when Anakin receives this Force-sensitive river stone from Obi-Wan on his thirteenth birthday. Actually, this is the very stone Obi-Wan got from Qui-Gon on his own thirteenth birthday. Obi-Wan WAS very disappointed, and must have looked disgusted when he got the stone from his own Master for he gets really surprised when he sees Anakin looking SO pleased...grateful,even. In fact, Anakin knows Obi-Wan got the stone directly from Qui-Gon who's been dead for 5 years, that the stone is the most important thing to Obi-Wan in the whole wide galaxy. A thing of value.
4-0 out of 5 stars It was pretty good
It was pretty good. The story is a bit confusing though. I like the idea of getting to know new Jedi and what Anakin did between the movies. It was kind of hard to picture some things but other then that, it was great. The ending wasnt too surprising but it was good. Darra was awsome, and Tru sounded cool also. But that other jedi....I forgot his name... It sounded like HE was headed down the dark side. And I also liked the character Siri. I think her full name is Siri Tachi and Ive read some things about her. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and she wears an outfit similar to Aayla Secura. and Obi-Wan was also great in this book. I liked when him and Siri where working together. It was really interesting. All in all, it was a really good book and I hope you will read it!

5-0 out of 5 stars The swarm
I like how the main characters in the galaxy of fear series are always interacting with other more famous characters from the starwars universe. This book is no different. In this story they encounter one of my Favorite charcters, Grand admiral thrawn. At this point in the story, he is going by the title of captin thrawn. I really got into this book. The way the author described the story, painted a picture in my mind so vivid. I had to stop and scracth my head and make sure there weren't any bugs crawling on me.

In this book the Animorphs must tell the govener about the Yeerks before it's too late. Marco, Ax, and Tobias are chosen for the job. They fly to the capital to tell the govener. Will the govener beleve them, not beleve them, or is she already a Controller? Read the book to find out!!

Now that the yeerks have the Morphing Power, the Animorphs have a lot more problems...Everywhere they go,everytime they even try to morph,a team of morph-capable Yeerks cut them off...And now the "National Guard" has sent an army of tanks into town, but it kinda obvious for the animorphs to know that the National Guard has been infiltrated by the Yeerks, and those tanks will most likely be for rounding up hosts....But,they have an idea,What if they got the Govenor to back them up,and warn people of the Yeerk threat.....It could work, but then again, mabye not..........4-0 out of 5 stars Good read

5-0 out of 5 stars An Exciting Alternate Reality
After a particularly grisly battle, Jake goes back home, where he is confronted with a proposition by the Drode: to go back and never walk through the construction site. Jake weakens and accepts, yet there's a catch: the Yeerks are still taking over Earth and now Jake and the others don't know about it and can't morph. You know what they saying by trying to deal with the devil. This book is totally realistic is how events may have played out if the five never went through the construction site and Aximili was on his own. What's scary is how perfectly logical and understandable character's thought processes are-leading to the events that follow.
4-0 out of 5 stars Back to Before
Personally, I gave this book 4 stars because of the begining and the very ending. Usually when KA does the Megamorphs and jumps from character to character it's very fluent but this was a little fuzzy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Definately the Best Cassie and In the Top Animorph category!
Wow! Iloved this Book! I think everyone was impressed because usually the Cassie books stink. This book is a turning point in the Animorph series. Cassie learns that she can't escape the war, but when she has to return, it will be even harder to fight . .

5-0 out of 5 stars The Departure
Cassie is tired of the missions. She's tired of the secrecy. She's tired of being an Animorph. So she quits. But the fight is far from over. A human-controller has discovered Cassie's secret.

5-0 out of 5 stars Reader Over 25
Synapsis:Cassie decides she's had enough of the war with the Yeerks and with the Animorphs, so she quits the team. She's lost the capacity to feel anything, love, hate, even fear, as it blurs into a kind of emotionless nothing within her.Unable to cope with the lies to her parents, the stress, and the inhumanities of war, she tries to leave it all behind. To make matters worse, her parents are going to lose the animal rehabilitation center which they run.Yet, even that, she finds herself unable to care about as much about it as she knows she should.Unfortunately (or fortunately for the fans of the series), things don't go anything near what Cassie plans, and she finds she has someone watching her.The watcher is revealed to be a little girl, who Cassie rescues from a bear, then finds herself swept into a river, washed into the heart of a forest.Without any idea of which way to go, against the elements, and the very real threats of dying of exposure, Cassie would normally morph and fly to civilization. To complicate things, however, the little girl is with her. It's easily discovered the child is a Controller, and the Yeerk inside her mind wants to learn everything about Cassie.Throughout revealing herself to the Yeerk, yet survive, Cassie is forced into some tough problems which have nothing to do with battle. There's also an added problem in an escaped leopard who is determined to make an easy meal out of the wounded Controller or Cassie.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Emotional Ride
Tobias books always have interesting perspectives. In this one, the Yeerks have developed an Anti-Morphing Ray that would cause anyone in morph to revert to their normal form. The Animorphs plan to destroy the weapon by being voluntarily captured, which would lead the others to the AMR so they can destroy it. Tobias sees that he is the ideal choice, for the AMR being tested on him would make it seem as though the very science behind the ray doesn't work (and the Yeerks won't bother to create another).
5-0 out of 5 stars TOBIAS RULES!!!!!
The Illusion is one of my favorite books for two reasons. Number 1: It's narrated by Tobias. I LOVE TOBIAS. He is definately, by far the best Animorph. Number 2. The whole thing was so well done. I liked the Anti Morphing Ray thing, and once you started it, you were hooked.
5-0 out of 5 stars Animorphs, 33 Review
This book is about how the Animorphs try to destroy an evil device.Tobias has to acquire A's DNA.The bad thing is, the yeerks thought Tobias was an andelite. They try to make him demorph. There are many main characters, Ax, Rachel, Tobias, Jake, Cassie and Marco. They each have special things about each of the Animorphs. Cassie can morph the fastest. The conflict or problem for the main characters are the yeerks try to take control of the world. They have a device to try to make andelites and humans demorph. This would allow the Animorphs' secrets to be given up. How they resolved their conflict is that when Tobias got captured, his friends saved him. Then they completed the mission and left. That is how they solved the conflict.I would recommend this book to others. This is a good book to read.I didn't want to stop reading. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The best book in the second series of Young Jedi Knights
Usually, in most series by the time they reach book 10 it is beggining to get cheesy and unsatifying, but this is an exception. In fact, I think that this book is even better than the other three books in the second series of Young Jedi Knights, though I generaly liked the first series better. For one thing, even though there is one more book after this one, it seemed to tie in just about all the subplots of the series into a flawless intertwining story, that ismuch better than most people give itcredit for, just because they are kids books.Anyway, in this story, The Young Jedi Knights (Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Raynar) finally decide that they have waited long enough for Lowie (their other friend) to return from visiting the Diversity Aliance and they must assume that he has either joined them, or is beingheld against his will. (both bad things) So they take off to go to rescue him, but are captured by the Diversity Aliance (who is fanacicly anti-human) and thrown into the spice mines to slave out their remaining years in agony. Will they save Lowie and escape? And if they manage to will they survive in the nearly inhospitably cold exterier to Ryloth? You'll just have to read the book to find out.One thing that bothers me, isthat when they ask Lusa to stay behind and cover for them sayingthat they went on a mission or something, well wouldn't the adults imediatly be suspicios?I mean they are just a bunch of fifteen year old kids, wouldn't the adults feel responsible if something happened to them?Yet everyone seems to simply take itin stride as a normal accurance untill Zekk and Lusa come forward and tell the truth for them. Also, these budding relationships between all the kids, while extremly innocent, are starting to get annoying.Actually, the relationship between Jacen and Tenel Ka is fine, it being fun and interesting to watch. But do we really need more than that? Now new charactershave actually been created just so other characters aren't left out of this, or so it seems.Zekk in particular was never one ofmy favorite characters, though despite myself I am begining to like him more.I am still completly against him forming a relationship with Jaina though, despite the fact they like each other. While I suppose Jaina does like him for the right reasons, they are better as friends.Their so called relationship is not only boring, but also completly unneccacary.A poor attemp to relate to teenage girls who would be reading this book.I'm a girl, and I'm fifteen, but this still seems silly and unneccecary, as is Lusa and Raynar, and Lowie and Raaba.Well now that I'm through complaining, I'll sign off by saying once again that this is a great book that I reccomend to any Star Wars fan, especially those interested in seeing how Han and Leia's kids turned out.

5-0 out of 5 stars must get this book
This is a great book. one of the beast. A good part is when Jacen & Tenel Ka get lost in the ice land."The first thing Jacen noticed wasthe cold.He shivered and looked at Tenel Ka,her lizard hide boots rose tomidcalf, but her scaled armor only covered a minuscule portion of her uperthigh and left her arms bare. You must be c-c-cold,he said. This is afact, said Tenel Ka.Chill wind went into the cave like knives of ice.Jacen, unable to thik of any other comfort, put his arms around Tenel Kaand pulled her to him in hopes of sharing some of his body warmth. TenelKa's arm slid around Jacen's waist and hugged him". so they arefrezzing to death. It gets a bit more buddy buddy for Jacen & Tenel Ka. Now Jaina &Ranar are in the hot lands. " Raynar did his best tokeep up with Jaina as they trudged between cracks, lept over open spaceslike ovens, and hid from the heat in any shadows they could find. Now Iknow what a nerf sausage-- on a hot plate feels like, said Raynar.Jainacouldn't anser. Her skin was red and raw from the heat, her hands and feethad good number of blisters already. Jaina climbed up a rockface, along acleft in the tones that heid some shade. She slippedbriefly and reachingout to steady herself, touched an outcropping of rock exposed to the directsunlight. She hissed in pain and snached her fingers away. Red burn-weltssprouted on her skin. Working it the mines is starting to sound like avacationto me,she admitted. we don't have any waterout here, no food orprotection...said Jaina". So they have to deal with the heat. This isa great book, to see what happens you got to get it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A light uncomplicated read.
I have recenlty found to my suprise that many YA novels are very interesting. The "Young Jedi Knights" series have a lot of thesenovels and this particular book is easily representative of the breed. Ithelped that I have read some of the previous books of the series, however, otherwise I would have been completely lost in the characterinterrelationships. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Bionicle:Legends of Metru Nui
Do you like building things? This book is about Bionicles. Bionicles are weird looking legos that you connect together. WIll the Bionicle Toa beat the evil Vakama? Maybe or maybe not. Read it to find out! Recommended for 8-13.
5-0 out of 5 stars Bionicle Rocks My Socks!!!!!! I love it!!!!!
If your tv's jammed and you really want to watch it your backup will always be your book. Bionicle Adventures #4: Legends of Metru Nui,has more lines than the movie. I read it more than 10 times and it never gets boring. It's like reading a movie. And it doesn't waste electricity for 1 hour and about 30 min. Great gift for girls and boys!
4-0 out of 5 stars BIONICLE: Read the Legends!!
The book I'm reviewing is BIONICLE Adventures #4: Legends of Metru Nui by Greg Farshtey. It is based on a movie with a similar name. It is about six Matoran villagers of the island city, Metru Nui, that have been transformed into Toa, protectors of the island. They must figure out why so many Matoran are vanishing. They must also escape the Vahki enforcers and the Dark Hunters, Nidhiki and Krekka. I give this book four stars because I am very familiar with BIONICLE and have liked it for a while. There's also lots of action in the book. I would recommend this book to a friend.

4-0 out of 5 stars Young Jedi Knights HO!
Sorry about the title, couldn't think of a good one. Anyway I am officially a fan of this series. I have enjoyed reading them now so long after the original release and reading the New Jedi Order & Dark Nest series. It is fun to see how Jacen, Jaina and crew got to the point they are as adults. I don't know that I would have like them as much if I had read them when they were origianlly released. The characters are fun and the stories are quick moving which is a plus. If you can find any of these book get them and read them. This book in particular was fun because you got an interesting look into wookie cultur and their home world.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best in the entire Shadow Academy series
If I could give it a million stars I would. When Lowbacca (or Lowie) learns that his sister, Sirra, is about to do the dangerous Wookie rite of passage he decides to go to Kashyyyk to be with her. His friends Jaina, Jacen and Tenel Ka agree to go with him. Little known to Lowie and his friends, the evil SHADOW ACADEMY also plans to go to Kashyyyk. But their plans are somewhat different. They plan to raid the Wookie's tech factory. This raid is under the leadership of Zekk (Jacen & Jaina's old friend who turned to the dark side), and the Nightsister Tamith Kai, plenty of stormtroopers, and another Nightsister. Well of course both parties collide and it is very exiting with a great ending. I highly recommend it to all Star wars fans and especially Lowbacca fans.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not the best but OK
I think that this was rather boring, but it realy leads upto Jedi under siege, which is among my three favroites.I love this series, and think that this is a great book despite that.If you have already read jedi under siege (as I had when I read this book) you will find boring, but if you just finished Lightsabers it is very suspenceful as you wait to see what will happen to the Shadow Acadmey and Luke's Praxeum, or jedi acadmey as it was called in the Jedi Acadmey trilogey. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars An exciting but somewhat graphic kids book
I read this book to all my boys. Like all of Paul Stewart's books, it really has a lot of swash-buckling excitement and humor that kids of all ages enjoy. The plot moves quickly, and it's not too long for a young reader. The only drawback is the illustrations...they're very "sophisticated" and don't really belong in a child's book. Some are very suggestive depictions of women, and a couple are unnecessarily gorey. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A simple Delight
This is a kind and fluffy book: it makes no claims for itself but infiltrates a kind sense of compassion into the reader. Beyond rubies. buy it. You will kick yourself if you don't.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not enough for a book
While I commend the authors for making a cute cartoon comment on Buddhism and those we humans might think "beneath us" (sheep), this is not enough material for a book. It was a serious overexpenditure -- and in *hardback*, no less???5-0 out of 5 stars Thought Provoking
While this is a light hearted look at Buddhist Principles, I found it quite thought provoking. The format is cartoon line drawings with a short statement of Buddhist Principle on each page. Some pages will make you smile, others may cause you to pause and reflect. As a 'sheep collector', this is a must have book but I was pleasantly surprised by content after my purchase! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars it started it all!
my love for and obsession with his dark materials began when i saw the national theatre's production in january '04.so it's only fitting that i would recieve the script version from my sister.obviously, it's not nearly as detailed as the trilogy, with entire characters (such as mary malone) not even appearing, but for a quick read-through, it's perfect.and it brings back, for me, the fabulous memories of seeing it all on stage.

5-0 out of 5 stars I'd have thought it couldn't be done...
This particular book is an adaptation of the HDM trilogy for the stage...something I'd have bet money couldn't be done.It would be a bear (armored bear? ;} ) to stage, but I'd love to see it that way. Some things got elided, but the main points remain.A real tour-de-force.

5-0 out of 5 stars makes Harry look like a Boy Scout!
Not that there's anything wrong with Harry. But Lyra, rather than being portrayed as a slightly inept side-kick, is THE HEROINE. Her adventures through the Dark Materials have many levels, in which both adult and older child will find many meanings both metaphorical and physical. I couldn't put this down until I'd read all 3 books in the series. I'm leaving for vacation with all three again after being away for 3 years -- I want to do it all again! I hope you enjoy this wonderful trilogy. ... Read more
