5-0 out of 5 stars Well this book is great but...
So I get this "new for you" email from Amazon...a new His Dark Materials book and about plotzed. Only to discover its the original UK title. C'mon Amazon, get it together...I get enough garbage in my email.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nietzsche for Children
This entire series is intellectually challenging, yet ethically very disturbing.Any youngster below the age of 12 or 13 needs an adult grounded in his or her own philosophy/theology of life with whom to discuss it.There are many frightening situations that can be wonderful grounds for discussion of good, evil, and the gray in between. However, left to their own devices, highly impressionable and imaginative children who are reading beyond their years might find much to persuade them in these books that few adults, even especially those closest to them, are to be trusted, and that life on this lonely planet is the end of the road.Whether this is the parental view or not, no child who hasn't developed the capacity to make a sharp differentiation between fact and fiction should be left to wonder alone.Read it WITH your child, if indeed they tend to read above grade level and get really "into" what they read.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lot better than Harry Potter
The story is all about a young girl called Lyra who is trying to save her friend, Roger, from a terrible fate. There is also a team of scientists conducting unimaginable experiments which she must stop! This griping tale of witches, armoured bears and more will leave you fastened to your seat, ridged with excitement. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good continuation.
I am not a big hater of Mr. Anderson like a lot of people are. These were written to a younger audience and he achieved it. They are still interesting and these stories play a big part in the following books. I would recommend this book to Star Wars fans young and old. I'm sorry I waited to read these but it makes them more interesting knowing what happens to them later.

3-0 out of 5 stars Its ok
This book is ok but there is no lightsabers in it so its not really exciting

5-0 out of 5 stars An Incredible Sequal to the Young Jedi Knights Series
I especially liked this Book because it really starts the Jedi/Sith relation ship and it begins the actual story because it introduces the real enemy to the Jedi: The Shadow Academy.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars An Animorph
This one starts with Jake having some wierd flashes when he's in the rainforest. Then there seems to be a Yeerk Bug Fighter crashed into the supermarket. The Animorphs go to investigate and end up taking the Bug Fighter for a joyride attempting to land it in DC- right on the President's front lawn! THeir plans go awry when they run smack into Visser 3's Blade Ship and somehow end up in the rainforest!
4-0 out of 5 stars somtimes confusing
This book was the third Animorphs book I read. At some points it was confusing, but it was a good book. It started when a next-generation Bug fighter crashed into a Safeway. human-Controllers are cleaning up the mess. The Animorphs morph flies and steal the Bug fighter. But it causes a time disortation, and the Animorphs are in the past eight hours. when they reach the time that the time disortation happened, both Jakes will dissappper. Read the book to learn the ending!

5-0 out of 5 stars A really great book
This book is about five kids who can change into animals. They change into animals by collecting the dna. The best thing aboutthis book is all of the battles. They battle the Yeerks wich are aliens who go inside your head and take over your brain. I would consider this to bescience fiction because in the real world you can't turn into an animal. If you like animals or aliens you would probably like this story. I would recommend this book to anyone who can read. Animophs eleven The Forgottenen was probablyone of the best books I've ever read. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book - Only a few flaws
I think this book is one of the best Tobias books, but it seems so abrupt when he meets his mother. It's almost like Tobias says, "Hi, I'm your son." Then it's as if his mother says, "Oh. Okay then. I knew that." I don't really like that part. Otherwise, it's pretty good. There are good Rachel and Tobias parts, an appropriate amount of action, and a great deal of emotion.

5-0 out of 5 stars "They Know We're Human."
Yep,that right. The Yeerks are finally begining to think that maybe the 'Andalite Bandits' aren't Andalites at all, maybe they're human. So they have figure out how to tesst them, DNA.Because every time when the Animorphs are in battle, they lose some blood. So if the Yeerks test it they will find DNA strands of every animal the have acquired, and their actual human DNA.They will know who they are, infact the Yeerk computer has already found a match. The Animorphs try to break in and destroy the computer, but they're stopped. But before they leave they see the one match on the computer, its somebody by the name of Loren, Tobias' mother......Tobias is shocked, everyone has always told him his mother is dead,He has to see her and he wants to save her,Jake doesn't really like that idea,He thinks she could be a Yeerk. So Tobias,Marco and Ax will watch her house for 3 days, and if she doesn't go to the Yeerk pool during that time they will know if she safe, but by then so will the Yeerks....But the computer is still going, and soon the other Animorphs' family members will turn up as matches too........5-0 out of 5 stars One of--if not--my most favorite in the series!
I loved this book. It was exceptional. I thought it was funny and exciting, and had everything an Animorph book should. Tobias is one of my favorite characters, and Rachel IS my favorite. Both of these characters were in it a lot, and that was another plus. I loved the chapters when they told their families what they are and what they could do. Rachel's mom reacted so stupidly it was funny. My eyes were glued to the pages without exception for the two and half hours it took me to read it. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. A must-have addition to the Animorphs series! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Educational value
As its name indicates, this book explains the science behind Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy. The authors refer to passages from the trilogy and then explain the science behind them using easily comprehendable examples and analogies. Chapters speak of everything from the Northern Lights to the Amber Spyglass. This non-fiction book is a reference for the fictitious His Dark Materials. The science explained, though it is complex, can be understood easily by a lay reader.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sad..
Not the best animorphs book, book a fairly good one. This ( I think) was the first book to make me cry. Who really CAN make that choice Rachel made? I think that this was definatly worth the time spent at the library. To bad some of the animorph books are out of print.

4-0 out of 5 stars How could this happen!!!!
The Ellimist and Crayak have rules to their battle so how could Crayak threaten totrap Rachel. That would be against the rules if he did. This book was written at the end so it is understandable that KA would have a hard time coming up with ideas, but all the books are great even if she got the idea beside a dumpster! (which she did!!)

3-0 out of 5 stars ZZZZzzz

4-0 out of 5 stars A Planet Full of Lies
This book takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. Kegan is the one planet that has no communication with the outside world. No one goes in and no one comes out. It has been that way for many years on Kegan and when the Jedi get a message from a family that thinks that there child is force-sensitive(able to interact with the force). When the Jedi here this they know that the must act upon it. Master Yoda summons Obi-Wan, Adi, Siri, and Qui-Gon to the council chamber. They have to get the force sensitive child to Coroucant in order to be trained. The team of Jedi soon find themselves tangled in a web with Kegan's affairs. The masters and padawans get separated from each other and have to fight endlessly to get back together. I think that this sci-fi story is very exciting with a lot of action and adventure. The Jedi have to fight for many things including there live.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Planet of Kegan
The Fight for Truth
4-0 out of 5 stars Foreshadowing...Difficult to see, the future is...
This book contains some good foreshadowing for Episodes 3 and 4.I am enjoying this story quite a bit already, but this tie-in about things to come in the famous movies really makes this series seem closer to Star Wars than just the names of the characters being the same.

2-0 out of 5 stars skip it
In this book, Tobias and Ax morph taxxons to put natrul gas in the Yeerk pool. Taylor, a Controller says she's part of the Peace Movment and she comes up w/ the idea. It's really boring. Normaly Tobias books are good, but this one is horrible.

2-0 out of 5 stars On a par with 30 and 31...
What can I say? This book should never really have been written. All it does is rehash the events of #33, keeping the uncharacteristic elements of Tobias and leaving out any originality or furthering of either plot or character. This is a 'filler' book, just like the aforesaid #30 and #31: nothing has changed by the end.The two stars, by the way, are for Tobias who remains my favourite character...but for how long, if his books end up like this?

5-0 out of 5 stars One to read
I think Tobias' character really developed in this book. Each Tobias book sees new changes for him and this was a big one. The Animorphs co-operate with Taylor, the Controller who tortured Tobias in #33 for this one. Seeing Taylor again brings up all sorts of memories of his torture and questions in Tobias' mind. He keeps thinking back to when he first became a nothlit, wondering if he actually gave up and chose to be trapped in hawk morph. ( This was one of my favourite parts of the book as I always wanted to know what happened to Tobias when he was first trapped.)What happens to Taylor in the end was definetely deserved, but, as in the case of Visser One, I think she will be back. The ending I thought was very powerful and a great ending line from Rachel. This definetly ranks in my best Animorphs books, not quite up there with #3,#31 and #33, my all-time favourites but close. Tobias is my favourite character and I always enjoy his books. Though only a book to read after you've read some of the other Animorphs and seen the slow devlopment of the characters through time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for kids who love Star Wars
This book was my favorite in the Junior Jedi Knights series. I love the Melodies! The idea of a planet where kids rule is sooo cool! However, I don't think Luke should have let Anakin and Tahiri go on a dangerous trip like that with only Peckum to watch out for them, and even he is conveniently gotten rid of as soon as they land. Luke should have at least sent a Jedi with them. But then, part of why I love this book is because the kids are on their own protecting themselves, so what am I complaining about? One thing I wondered about was what ever happened to Sannah? She is never mentioned again in any other book, and I rather liked her character. I would recommend this book to any Star Wars fan, but kids twelve and under would probably enjoy it best. When I first read this at age ten I thought it was the best book I had ever read, and even now I still enjoy reading this series.

2-0 out of 5 stars Fair
Lyric's World is Yavin 8, which is inhabited by many dangerous creatures. It's a place where Anakin, Tahiri, and their new friend Lyric have a few adventures. However, I only gave it 2 stars because the children make less progress in their assignment than I had hoped.Although some some excitingadventures do happen (you've got to read the book to know what I mean),they don't seem to come too much closer to their goal: solving the GoldenGlobe.

5-0 out of 5 stars This book was the best I've read.
I loved this book and I want it to have five stars. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars ties that bind
I found this book to be just as fulfilling as all of the Jude Watson books so far. Seeing that Qui Gon Jinn was only inthe first movie these books let us see how the great Jedi master really was in our own imagination. I am also a big fan ofr Obi Wan stories and Watson's books are great to see his past as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Story arc exploring Qui-Gon's heart...
Obi-Wan Kenobi is now sixteen-years-old and now has a pretty solid relationship with his master, Qui-Gon Jinn. But right now he is very confused as his master acts distant. The reason is because Qui-Gon is being plagued with terrible dreams about his good friend, the Jedi Tahl, and because of this, he is troubled in his heart. Tahl instead just feels that he is being protective of her because of her blindness. Because of this, Tahl resents any help from him. So when Tahl leaves for a solo mission and doesn't return on schedule, he defies the council and goes to the planet Apsolon to find her. Naturally his confused apprentice follows. But nothing is as it seems. Six years ago Qui-Gon and Tahl had helped bring peace to the planet of Apsolon. But now their leader has been killed and his twin daughters are in trouble. The people are divided between the Workers and the Absolutes and there is unrest as there are secrets and sabotoge. Will the Jedi be able to help the people of Apsolon? And at the same time, will Qui-Gon be able to search his heart for the answer about his feelings for Tahl?4-0 out of 5 stars A great book for all ages
It is agreat book. It does get a little mushy at the end but besides that it is a great book. Qui-Gon is a little destracted in this book and doean't pay much attention to Obi(besides giving him that pastry). It get confusing for a little bit(barely any but still). ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Sparks boys' imagination
Normally I would shy away from buying books with a product link, but I have found both the Bionicle toys and the books to stimulate my son's creativity.Building Bionicles helps builds mechanical intuition as children experience the working of gears and joints. And the books give their readers a sense of legend, heroism, and mystery, which they can then apply to imaginative play or even their own writing. To an adult picking them up at random, the books present a seemingly impenetrable confusion of names and terms, but children readily master this new world.

3-0 out of 5 stars maybe if you're into the series
i'm not familiar with the series, and not a juvenile, so maybe I'm not the target audience, but i found it a bit shallow, even for juveniles. could be worse, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely hilarious with an interesting look on David...
Picking up where the previous book had left off, this one pit the group against a VERY large dragon who has more money than Bill Gates on its own mountain!Applegate does well in sending the kids on a quest (which involves a repeated gimmick involving the bottom half of a satyr running around the scene igniting comic relief and a nymph for part of the book) to find part of the dragon's stolen treasure and so they must go out to the land of the Faries unless they want their hearts to turn into flames within six days.Christopher's humor is well represented although this is not one of this books.Yet the secrets of the Everworld kids start to unveil themselves to the audience.Where Jalil's Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder was the focus of the previous book, readers will finally get a hint as to WHY David is the leader of the group and why he is so defensive (Applegate does well in making it subtle enough so as to not disturb you). And once again, Senna is further explored although she remains elusive to the truth and the audience STILL doesn't know what's totally going on with her. However, this was a sure fun book to read, and when the end comes the largest threat in all of Everworld must now be confronted... yes, you know who I'm talking about.Definitely essential to the storyline and a great lead-in for what is to come.

4-0 out of 5 stars Everworld: Discover the Destroyer
I think this book was great and all, because of the adventure and suspense of the book. The four kids' hearts are all turned into rubies, by the dragon Nidoggher. They must fulfill their task requsted by the powerful dragon, so that their hearts will turn into hearts and not stay as ribies. It's very exciting how the story unfolds and ends. I recomend that you read this book, if your an Animorph lover. ... Read more

Hi.My name is Nicholas (I feel I should express my first name)and I purchased this book.I have to say it is a very good book, and I reccomend it.I rate it 3 stars because, although it is good, it is not the best I have read. But it is a real A++ for Greg Farshtey (writer).
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
Greg Farshtey has written a very good book here. It is fast-paced, funny where appropriate (teaching the rules of Kolhii to a Rahkshi, lol!), is easy to follow and each character has their own, well defined personality that fits in well with the rest of the storyline. It also connects some things for me (apparently Pewku has more of a history than we thought).5-0 out of 5 stars Bionicle Adventures #1
I thought this book was great. I liked the part when Toa Metru went gliding through tunnels to find his Metoran. It was very exciting! The book is really well written for all kids who like Bionicles. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing
These books have become my favorite. Me and my freinds are hardcore fans of starwars and we have both read these books. these books take place between movie one and two.

5-0 out of 5 stars Interesting! Awesome!
This was really a GREAT book. I my oppinion it was the best of all the Jedi Quest books. The plot was interesting and the characters were - well, they were the usual Star Wars people! The writing was good and definitely deserves a five-star rating. This is a fun read for anyone who likes Star Wars or the Jedi Quest/Jedi Apprentice series.

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY well done

4-0 out of 5 stars A cool book
It was a fun book, the first one Marco, his jokes are just soo funny, another reason why I read these books, no matter how bad they get in trouble or how hurt someone is he can always make you laugh. I likes when he beat up those muggers with his gorilla morph.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good, good, good
I like this book a lot. The best Animorphs book I've read. Right after I read it, I swore to myself that I would always read Marco books. (He's an Animorphs character.)
4-0 out of 5 stars What you see isn't always what you get...
Marco never wanted to be an Animorph. He never wanted to risk his life saving the world with his animal-morphing powers. He knew that if he died, his father would go insane--since both his son and wife would be gone forever. Now, the two year anniversary of Marco's mother's death is coming, and Marco is nervous. And after a dangerous mission that almost got he, Jake, and Ax killed, Marco decides to quit.

4-0 out of 5 stars not bad
not exactly the ending i expected but it works. only i wouldve liked to find out what happens next.

2-0 out of 5 stars An ending?
I will split this review into two parts: the plot and its place in the series of Everworld. First, about the plot. Hey, the story was not bad, it's just they too easily beat Hel. I dont think Hel even tried her best. That got one star off for not being exciting enough. Second and lastly, it's place in the series. This is where matters start to go bad. I think it leaves the same number of questions unanswered in our minds, if not more. Like, what actually happened to David when he was small? How did Senna turn Jalil obsessive compulsive? Who is that stopped Jalil being obsessive compulsive in Everworld? And some new ones, such as how will Christopher and Etain turn out? Will they meet the Greek gods again? And the most important question of all: How will Everworld turn out? This got two stars off. I don't think this is much like an ending.

4-0 out of 5 stars Captivating and Gripping
After reading this, I knew it was my favorite book. Yes, the ending was rushed, but still, the author was so descriptive, I was there. Literally, I was living in this alternate reality. I loved it. Unfortunately, I haven't read any of the previous ones, and I won't now because I know the ending. But this book definetely deserves an A.
