Misfortune Comes Again
This book might be one of the most important books of the series so far. Why? Well, first of all it is the last book in the series that Mr. Poe (see book 1) sends the baudelaires to another guardian. Everyone figures out that there really is a Count Olaf (who is the bad guy). To try to get away from Count Olaf the Baudelaire's have to live in a village that is ruled by a bunch of old people and do chores for everybody in the village. They stay at their friend Hector's house (the janitor of the town) and stumble upon a poem by Isadora Quagmire who is an old friend of the baudeliares and has a great fortune too. The baudelaires found out that Count Olaf hid her and her brothers in the same town. The council members catch Count Olaf but it's not really him he just looks like Count Olaf. Now the Baudelaire's have to find their friends and make sure the fake Count Olaf (who is totally innocent) doesn't get burned at the stake. During the story the Baudelaire children get accused of killing the fake Count Olaf and they are to be burned at the stake. Will they be sent to their death in roaring flames or will they escape? You will have to read to find out.

This Book was awesome! I had a blast reading it. In no time, it was my favorite book of the five I've read so far. Maybe it was my favorite book of all the books I've read in my life! It was definatly a top book. I never expected for any book to be as great as this book was! I would be really surprised if any book was better than this one! I would reccomend this book to anyone who takes interest in awesome books.

Fireheart's life is in danger. A mysterious "pack" is roaming the forest,hurting and even killing cats. Also, Bluestar has given up on Starclan thinking they're abandoning Thunderclan. And Tigerclaw (now Tigerstar) Fireheart's enemy has become Shadowclan's leader!

Ashley's favorite book
The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket was a great book in my opinion.This book is about three Baudelaires named Violet, Klaus, and Sunny. I liked this book because it was an adventure story. This story made me not want to put the book down.My favorite part was when they were running from the shopkeeper of the Last Chance General Store and the mailman that was delivering the paper. They snuck out of the store and got into the V. F. D.'s van.V.F.D means "Volunteers Fighting Disease." I read this book, and I think you should too!

Lemony Snicket breaks the formula and succeeds
The first seven books of A Series of Unfortunate Events followed the same formula. The Baudelaire Orphans are with the banker Mr. Poe until he can find a new relative willing to care for the siblings. Things go badly and the evil Count Olaf shows up with another nefarious plan to kidnap the children and somehow steal their inheritance. In the end they get away and Olaf is on the run from the authorities. The ending of The Vile Village changes this. The Baudelaires are on the run, suspected of the murder of Count Olaf despite the fact that he isn't dead and that there is no way they could have committed the non-existent crime. The Hostile Hospital opens with the orphans trying to find a place where they can learn about VFD, the Quagmire triplets, and some clue that will help keep them safe and stop Count Olaf from coming after them ever again. This time there is no Mr. Poe and no new distant relative to live with. Count Olaf is in much less of this book than we have come to expect, though he and his cronies play major roles in instigating the action.

WHAT A DELIGHTFUL BOOK - WOULD BE A GREAT PRESENT FOR THE DRAGON LOVER
I was truely impressed with this offering.This is a wonderful little book about just what the title indicates "Dragonology."The entire book is producted in a sort of medieval mode, with wonderful illustrations.The books if filled with maps, puzzels, drawings, anatomy lessons (dragons of course), life styles (again, dragons) types, habits, origins, lore and even riddles.The work is quite a combination of originality and pure imagination from the author.This is one of those books that might first appear to be classified as juvinal, but it is so much more.The art work alone is worth the price of the book.The text is imaginative yet quite realistic in it's presentation.As I said, I was truely impressed with this one and highly recommend it.This would make a wonderful gift for any lover of dragons, dragon lore or for that matter just a fun read.

If you like dragons, this is for you. Dragonology is a book for any age. It's cool that they show dragon skin and dragon dust. This book gave me more info on dragons, and I believe in dragons. I read in one night and I am always going back to it. I love dragons more, than I did, before I read the book. This book will leave you with all smiles.

Well I remembered how much I loved the Narnia series when I was a kid so when I saw all seven books in a box set I had to have them.There is one thing bothering me though, do these books seem shorter to anyone else?I was sure that the books had more pages to them when I first read them, or maybe it was because I was smaller back then!Anyway, I am glad to own the set, I can't wait to give them to my kids to read if I ever have any...

I have not read these books since I was quite young.It was great to see they have withstood the test of time.I enjoyed them as an adult as much as I did when I was a kid.The boxed set is something I will enjoy having in my library and reading again and again.They really are timeless stories.I wish they would make films of more of them.

More dreadful fun
Once again the Baudelaire Orphans find themselves off to another place to live with another sinister guardian.Mr. Poe drops the orphans off at a boarding school where all of the buildings resemble gravestones.The rules at the school are horrible and the evil Vice Principal forces the students to live in an even more horrible shack with crabs that live on the floor and bite the orphans' toes.However the orphans finally make some friends at the school and for a time it seems as though this school will be better than the other places they have lived.However, Count Olaf, in disguise, gets hired as the school's new gym teacher.Once again, Olaf finds a way to sneak past the people in charge and trap the Baudelaire's in another trap.

Have you ever read the austere academy? Well if you haven't, you should read it-you it's the fifth book of the series of unfortunate events. So you may want to read the first four first.That way you'll understand what is happening. It's mostly about- it is about three, wealthy, intelligent, children whose parent passed away in a fire while the children, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny were atthe beach. When the children find a new home, they discover that their foster parent is trying to steel their fortune. In every book, at least the first five I've read, that the foster parent discise himself in order to steel their fortune. Fans of Lemony Snicket's wonderful Series of Unfortunate Events won't besurprised to find that in the sixth installment the three Baudelaire orphans'new home proves to be something of a mixed bag. As our ever sad but helpfulnarrator states, "Although 'a mixed bag' sometimes refers to a plastic bag thathas been stirred in a bowl, more often it is used to describe a situation thathas both good parts and bad parts. An afternoon at the movie theater, forinstance, would be a mixed bag if your favorite movie were showing, but if youhad to eat gravel instead of popcorn. A trip to the zoo would be a very mixedbag if the weather were beautiful, but all of the man-and woman-eating lionswere running around loose." And so it is for the bad-luck Baudelaires. Theirfancy new 71-bedroom home on 667 Dark Avenue is inhabited by Esmé GigiGeniveve Squalor (the city's sixth most important financial advisor), and herkindly husband, Jerome, who doesn't like to argue. Esmé is obsessed bythe trends du jour (orphans are "in"), and because elevators are "out," Sunny,Violet, and Klaus have to trudge up 66 flights of stairs to reach the Squalors'penthouse apartment. My kid's love "Little House" books
I have 5 childern and do not get to read aloud the quanity of books I would like to, so we invest in audio.They can be enjoyed time and time again.My kids play the "Laura" books we own over and over. Great for long car trips or when layed up with illness too.

The story conitnues...
Little House On The Prairie is a longer read than Little House In The Big Woods and deals more with action and adventture.While the first book seemed to be a guide book on survival in the wild this book is more of a tale with Indians, bush fires and other dangers.Living on the prairie is not the same as living in the big woods, so we do learn some new things about prioneer life and the problems the family faced.In same ways the second book is superior to the first.

the best novel in the universe

A Homerun for Boys
There are soooo many series books for girls (Amer Girl, Junie B, blah blah blah) but very few chapter books that boys eat up.These Captain Underpants books are great!My son got his first box set of these from his grandma (who's a librarian) for his 5th birthday.I think that's the perfect age to get introduced to this series.Yes, I might prefer that my son read more classic books, but he absolutely LOVES these!He giggles & begs for another chapter (which are very short, which is nice).Give these a try, they are perfect for kindergarden thru 2nd grade boys.

The Grim Grotto
Before I tell you about this book and its damp pages I want to advise you that if you don't want you eyes and spirits damped I suggest you just forget about this review and the book that its about and read another, happier book. If you are reading this I guess you decided not to take my advice but that is ok. This book it about three orphans named Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire who are going down a stream and encounter a submarine whose captain is named captain Widdershins. It is about the Baudelaires teaming up with the captain and his stepdaughter Fiona to find the sugar bowl. Although they don't know why it is so important they trust the captain when he said that is cant fall into the wrong hands. This is where the villain, Count Olaf and his girlfriend Esme come in the picture. The Baudelaires are on a mission to find the sugar bowl before it gets into evils hands. They encounter many thing such as a deathly fungus, a mechanical monster, a giant spaghetti, a hope-lifting letter and a long lost family member. Now that you have witnessed some of the woe that this book contains I hope you take my word and just throw it down the drain and forget all about it.

A not-so-grim tale that will leave you gasping for air (and dry land)
When your last name is Baudelaire, it is a known fact that you will somehow stumble upon trouble, no matter how hard you may try and avoid it. When you're last name is Baudelaire and you're an orphan, stumbling upon trouble increases tenfold. Which is why the Baudelaire orphans (Violet, Klaus, and Sunny) know instantly after they begin floating along the Stricken Stream that trouble is lurking around some vicious corner. However, as they are not dolphins, seals, or fish, they did not expect their next bout of trouble to take place underwater. But, alas, that is exactly where they find themselves on their next dreadful adventure. Having come across a submarine that is filled with three crew members (Captain Widdershins, his step-daughter Fiona, and, lo-and-behold the Baudelaire Orphans old pal, Phil), the Baudelaire's enter the underwater vehicle, and begin their next journey. Within a short while, the three orphans learn that Captain Widdershins is a member of V.F.D., and they quickly realize that he is on their side, willing to help them discover the truth about the fire that took their beloved parents lives. However, when the orphans, along with Fiona (a young mycologist), prepare for a bit of deep-sea diving, they soon find that young Sunny has been infected with Medusoid Mycelium (a deadly fungi). Now, the siblings are searching for a way to save their baby sister from a very certain death, without many supplies. As if that weren't difficult enough for the Baudelaire's to endure, they have just discovered that Count Olaf is now trailing them under the sea, and plans on capturing them, and (you guessed it) claiming their fortune as his own.
Excellent, Aye!
The Grim Grotto has Violet, Klaus and Sunny aboard a submarine where a crazed Captain is obsessed with finding the sugar bowl before Count Olaf. While Klaus starts getting close to the Captain's stepdaughter Fiona. She's a book a worm too, well when it comes to learning about mushrooms. One of the funnier parts has has her stepfather alreday planning their wedding and having the two blushing. While saying "and Violet can marry my stepson once we find him again, Aye!". The book has it's slow points but it's still one of the best of the books since it has some surprises. Plus when Sunny gets poisoned by a deadly mushroom, Klaus and Violet have to figure out how to cure her and get away from Count Olaf at the same time.

Incredibly Entertaining and a great value
I love this set.The performers are superb, and are clearly having fun with the reading, the text is unabridged, and there is a complete lack of chessy effects or background sound track, with the exception of segway music at the beginning and end of each CD, which I personally find very a very nice prompt to switch CDs. Even the questionable nod to femminism by including Lynn Redgrave as a reader for "Prince Caspian" does not diminish the production or entertainment value one iota.They presented in a different order from the original book series publication, but that was no matter to me: I simply listen to them in the coreect sequence.I am perfectly content to hear how it all began later rather than sooner.

What A Wonderful World It Is
The Chronicles of Narnia - the audios were really quite good.They are each done by different actors.Kenneth Branagh, who I know from Harry Potter's Chamber of Secrets, did well with the story telling of the first book "The Magician's Nephew".All the other actors were wonderful as well. But the best, to me, was Patrick Stewart, in "The Last Battle". What a performance.He caught my attention.So very dramatic, very passionate and funny!Overall, I enjoyed it.And to me, it's almost up there with Harry Potter's audio, and Lord of the Rings audio with Ian Holmes, playing the role of Frodo.If you want to buy it go for it!

The final legend. That's what To Be A King is. The final legend in the three that Soren, Coryn, the Band, & Otulissa have to read. In this book, they find a world of magic & chaos. Lord Arrin's forces of hagsfiends have split, forming other groups off nachtmagen. Rumors about a group of all hagsfiends led by Lord Arrin's old assassin, Ullryck, have been brought to the attention of the new King Hoole & Grank. They have just recently set up a new order called the Guardians of Ga'Hoole in the enormous tree which has come to be known as the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. There is also another rumor of a mad owl that has taken control of the Ice Palace in the N'yrthghar with his young hagsfiends. Soon, Hoole realizes, the forces of good will clash with the evil forces of nachtmagen. Hoole has the Ember, but to use it could be dangerous. This book is about a group of mice in search of the sword and grave of one of their mostbeloved warriors.This is a book with much action and much description; it is sure to be a classic for many, many years to come. The book is fun and has a lot to look forward to after you start.If you have read and liked Dragon Rider then you should like this book.It's a great book if your more a fantasy and a fiction-type reader. If you have seen the movies Harry Potter or Tales of Desperox then you should like it. Have a fun time reading.

I recommend this book because it is an exciting book about good vs. evil.It starts out with Cluny the Scourge, a sea rat, attacking Redwall Abbey. Redwall is a fortress inhabited by mice.It is in a place called Mossflower, a beautiful wilderness.The main character is Matthias.He decides to go ona quest for Martin the Warrior's sword after a portrait of Martin is stolen from the abbey.This story is full of action sequences andgood triumphs in the end.

I love Redwall !!!!
Redwall is awesome. It has a great plot, has cool action scenes and it has good dialog.

A Wonderful Read Aloud for Toddlers/Kinders and A Great Reading for Young Children
I first learned about this book while teaching second grade.It was one of our chapter books for group reading.My second grade students couldn't get enough of this wonderful classic and enjoyed reading it each day.They also voted it as the favorite chapter book that they read all year.Now as a parent I purchased it as a read aloud bedtime story for my three year old that has developed a love of dragons.It is a timeless story full of adventure and imagination!The chapters are short, making it a great bedtime story to be read over multiple nights.A must for every family library!Parents will enjoy it as well as children.It is a story that once you finish your child will ask, "Can we read it again?"

My five-year-old son loves this book.The first time, I read it out loud to him and his sister.He has read it alone several times since then.I think the writing is right on his level - he has tackled tougher books but not gone back to them like this one - and it is long enough that he doesn't finish it in fifteen minutes.The story sounds to me just like something a kid would think of - for example, how Elmer crossed the river full of crocodiles.

I absolutely this book.It is about a young boy, Elmer Elevator, and a dragon, Boris, who go on a lot of adventures.I read it five years ago, when I was seven, and it is great for kids ages 7-10 to read alone.Younger kids would enjoy it too if someone read it out loud to them.Makes a great b-day or Christmas present!! ...
