A very illustrative book- highly recommended
I read this book twice thoroughly before writing this review. The book is very complete and discusses the most common myths and realities about "el sexo joven" and many enigmas as well. The book is not only for adolescents, it's definitely beneficial to adults as well who have teenagers or have questions themselves that they would like to have answered without having to go to a gynecologist or urologist depending on the nature of the problem.The book is divided into the following four chapters:Read more

The best--very practical and thorough!

A good start for little ones.
I appreciate this books God centered approach to the question stated in the title.I have read it to both my boys (2 & 3).They enjoy the pictures and the dialogue between the mother and her child.I enjoy not having to edit out anything not quite appropriate for children their age.The best I have seen for this age group.

New Baby Joining the Family?
In simple language and illustrated with lovely pictures of a mother talking to her little son, children are told the story of how God made each one of us. The language is simple and the pictures help one understand God's handiwork. A nice book to read to children especially if a new baby will be joing the family.

Exactly what I was looking for
The conversational style of the mother answering her childs questions was easy for my 4 year old to relate to.The combination of the drawncharacters that the story is about and real pictures of babies in themommy's tummy made it less like a textbook.Does not address sex or genderdifferences, but does address sperm and egg being needed.I orderedseveral in this catagory and this was by far the best one. ... A useful, informative guide for teens

Adults, as well, can take a lesson from Dr. Gowen about how to effectively talk to teens about sexuality.
A strong, supportive voice for teens
Sexual education books can fall into a variety of categories - for example, those that seek to teach younger teens the plumbing and wiring of the sexual body, or those that describe the actual experiences (both good and bad) of sexually active teens. Dr. Gowen's book represents the voice of an expert who is familiar with the issues that teenagers face regarding sex and relationships; she speaks directly and supportively to teens about the choices available and their consequences, without talking down to teens or becoming didactic. She does a great job of encouraging adolescents to freely make their own choices, but to be educated about them before doing so. In particular, she seeks to acknowledge a wide range of possible experiences that teens might have, including more than heterosexual sex and "traditional" intercourse, for example. This Book Is Hilarious
And bears about as much resemblance to reality as a driver's manual does to actual driving. I'm sorry, I know it was written with serious intent, but I came across it in a library and HAD to skim through it, as you would, too, admit it, and within minutes I was laughing so hard I had to get up and go outside. (Once I start giggling I'm hopeless.) Someone I used to date works at the same library and asked me what was so funny and I told him and he said, "Yeah, we're always finding that book hidden in corners where people take it and sneak off to read." (Hey, at least I read it in the open.) Soooo, if it helps even a single person (although how it could is past me, it reads likestereo assembly instructions, and I think the author is out of touch) then great, but in my opinion it seemed pretty silly.
