A very entertaining and colorful story.
My 6 year old son was captivated by this story of a shy chameleon named Smedley. The story goes that Smedley is so shy he just blends into every background. He isn't noticed in school, doesn't participate much because he is so shy. That is until the new girl shows up. Sally Skinky who is the opposite of Smedley immediately takes to him and helps him to realize his potential for standing out. She works with him and talks to him which builds his confidence. He becomes so confident that he enters himself in an art show. All the other kids have a picture to show but Smedley uses himself, changing into many different patterns and colors. He wins the art show and now has confidence in himself. He learns that being different is not such a bad thing after all. Very colorful and adorable. We love this book!
Finally, a good kids book illustrating the beauty and sensitivity in shy children.Not only is it perseptive, but it's whimiscal and fun.Even our 2-year-old enjoys this book.The pictures are interesting and provide lots to talk about.Charlene is a cool chick once you get to know her.

Insensitive Jokes Made About Handicapped People.
I feel that the whole book made a distinct public comment on handicapped peoples.It showed how ignorant and intolerant Disney is about those of us who may not walk erect.The fact that some people's back's are a littlecrooked, is no laughing matter.The folks at Disney are uncaring andinsensitive to the feelings of others.I would advise everyone to neverbuy this book.And those of you who have-burn it! ... This book tells you all about Tigers.It tells you how they stay close to their mother when they are young, all the way up to how to hunt for food.I have found this book to be very interesting to me and for my daughter.
