My daughter adored this book as she adores all books and prevailed upon myself and others to read it constantly.

No more Good Night Moon
This book has replace our tired "Good Night Moon" which needed a break.I prefer reading this one b/c the text isn't as repetitve as "Good Night Moon".

My daughter doesn't care much for this book but I like it.

Repeat Book
I am not a fan of books that repeat themselves, but this one is adorable. The pictures are so good and the rhymes so cute that it does not even phase me to repeat the lines. It is the perfect length for a bedtime story. Looking forward to reading it for years!

Wonderful story!!
This book is just adorable. The illustrations are incredible and I hope Rob Scotton continues to write more Russell the Sheep books. My two boys ages 6 and 3 adore this bedtime story.A must in every house.

Surprise!
This is a cute story about one wild winter night. Lily Laceby, a very old lady, is busy sitting and dreaming by the fire, oblivious to all the noises going on around her. The noises are made by a group of people massing outside her front door. When she is woken up by their knock on the door, she finds all her friends and family there, wishing her a happy birthday.

I Am Not Going To Get Up Today! (Beginner Books(R))
What can I say?Seuss is always great!

Worst Dr. Seuss book ever!
I can't believe this book is written by Dr. Seuss!It is so boring, dull, and has the weirdest ending ever.It teaches bad lessons to kids - all day long the kid refuses to get up and in the end his Mom looks at him sheepishly along with his two siblings while he smiles triumphantly in his bed."I guess he really means it,"says Mom.Huh? What kind of lesson is that?The poetry is not clever, fun or catchy like most of his other works.The illustrations are not done by Dr. Seuss and they are not very interesting or coloful.Very, very ho-hum!

Don't woozy-snooze through this!
Have you ever had one of those mornings when you just can't get out of bed? This video might not help that, but it is very funny. In I Am NOT Getting Up Today a small boy almost begs his family and friends to just leave him alone so he can sleep. I think The Shape of Me and Other Stuff is educational, because it talks about shapes. Great Day for UP is very clever. I sometimes find myself jumping whenever the word "up" is metioned. In A People House is one of the more humorous stories. When a couple come home to see a bird and a mouse exploring their house they actually throw them out. It's very funny. Fun book
My children enjoyed this book and it did not take to long to read.A good bedtime book.

Simple and Sweet
My son loves this book as a must read every morning when he wakes up and every night before he goes to bed. We love searching for the mouse and the flea and seeing the movement of the characters before they end up on the bed or off of it. The colors and the change from night to day are so smooth you almost dont notice it.

Good Book
Spanish is our native language and we speak Spanish at home so that our kids learn both Spanish and English. This book is a simple story with rather rich language, my daughter got 3 or 4 words she had never heard before. Great idea, poorly executed
I love the idea of a pony coming to a child in a dream.And the pictures are great.But the wording style is dificult for adults to read, much less a child.I need children's book that a child can read.

The Sleep Ponies is one of the greatest children's books ...

I've ever read.I am so glad that my cousin told me about it.It will be a beloved addition to our library and one I can't wait to share with my grandchildren.You also need to read the second book called "Sleep Pony Dreams" that tells the story from the ponies side - it is also great.These are two must haves if you have children/grandchildren that love horses!

Love this book!

Baby loves it ! ! !...
My 3 month old son loves these illistrations by David McPhail. I was surprised to see his intrest in this classy, sophisticated, large hardback. My 7 year daughter old has enjoyed it for years. We also used it as an early reader until it was completely memorized. We loved it even more when her great grandmother (my Mamaw) told us how her mother used to recite this poem to her every night when she was a little girl.Interesting notes about author and poem are inside the paper cover. Great classic poem by Eugene W. Field. Take good care of this beautiful book its a keeper to hand down for generations.

Wonderful poem by Field, and lovely illustrations!
If you are familiar with Eugene Field, this is one of his best children's poems (in my opinion.) The illustrations definitely do justice to the mystical, dreamy poem. I do agree with the review, however, that the mother who is tucking in her daughter looks more like her sister than a mom! Highly recommend this book to for any little one; it's a GREAT bedtime story!

Ship of Dreams
Excellent photo's and the story reminds me of my childhood hearing about the sandman.The photo's have so much you can stop and discuss with your child and/or have them pick out.I would highly recommend this book

A Mom's Favorite
As a preschool teacher, I am always on the lookout for that one book that is written and illustrated beautifully.Dean Morrissey has done it with this book.My students and my daughter were mesmerized by the realistic illustrations and I loved the story.My daughter is now ten years old and still looks into the sky to find her "star", she can always pick it out.I find myself buying this book again and again and giving it to friends expecting babies and they have expressed how much they liked it too!This is a book that I intend to hand down in the future so that my daughter's children will be caught up in it's magic.Thank you Dean Morrissey for such a beautiful book.Oh, by the way, I just recieved The Christmas Ship and I adore this one too!

A Lovely Bedtime Tale
Sleepy Bears is a lovely tale about a Mother Bear with six bear cubs who aren't so ready to go to sleep.She lulls each to sleep with their own special poem.
Beautiful Story
I read this as a naptime story to my two year old nephew who did NOT want to take a nap.He would not lay down on the couch with me, so he sat up next to me and looked at the pictures and listened to me read.I read it in a nice soft voice to go with the story.By the time the third bear fell asleep he was yawning so much that it was all I could do to not start laughing.By the time the fourth bear fell asleep, he kept having to jerk his head up because he was nodding off.By the time the last bear fell asleep, he had fallen over, face first into the book.I had to lift him up and lay him backwards, scared that I was going to wake him up....but he was OUT.And at that point I was ready for a nap myself.I don't know who yawned more....him or me. This was an enchanting book with beautiful illustrations.The perfect bedtime story.

Simply Wonderful
The writer and illustrator of "The Cat Who Walked Across France" team up again in another simple yet totally winning story.This time, our protagonist is a baby tiger--so innocent looking that he resembles a cuddly soft toy--who just can't go to sleep. With the enormous curiosity of any infant, this little tiger doesn't want to close his eyes and miss the sky, the trees, abright blue bird--all the wonderful, wondrous things around him.

This is a beautiful book about going to bed and having wonderful dreams! The story is simple for toddlers to understand and the illustrations are impressive. It really shows young kids' imaginations and that "mama tiger" is always there for her baby.

Wynken, Blynken, & Nod
This book has been a long time favorite of my daughter-in-law.Now that she and my son are soon expecting their first child she asked that I purchase the book... this is one of two books that will be part of their family tradition.It will be read by my son to his daughter at first on cassette tape where she will get to know her daddy's voice and then when he comes home and holds her for the first time.It is a great book!Great enough to send to Iraq in love of the miracle we are waiting for.

Both my 1-year old daughter and I are captivated by this book, the illustrations are gorgeous and the rhythm is so engaging for small children. I just wish it came as a board book, then I think it would be her favorite.

What a fun story
This is a really fun story to read to my little guy! He giggles when I animate my voice for the reactions of the animals after the flea sneezes. From the early months, he has seemed to enjoy the pictures in the book and hearing the story. I recommend this to anyone who loves to read to their children and for those who can read for themselves.

Affectionate Story
