Beautiful book.
The fabulously beautiful illustrations are the highlight of this book.Pictures of children at bedtime merge with colorful celestial images to create a feel of dreamland.The familiar lullabies are quiet and sweet, perfect for bedtime.There are 3 verses of 'Twinkle, Twinkle.'And you may know 'Golden Slumbers' from the Beatles song that uses part of it (modified) in it's intro ("sleep now darling, do not cry, and I will sing a lullaby...").My 15 month old loves this book so much that she recently started carrying it all around with her, and has even insisted on napping with it.

A Notable Twist on an Old Classic --Great for Young Toddlers
My son received this book as a gift when he was 1. I still read it regularly to him at 28 months. The book features Twinkle Twinkle Little Start plus a few verses you probably don't know on one side. Then flip the book to read Golden Slumbers, which may be new to you as it was to me. Read more

We love this book!
I checked out this book from the library about 5 years ago for my (then) 3 year old daughter. We loved it! We've never forgotten about the story, although we couldn't remember the title. I was so delighted to find it again just now! It was so imaginatively written; I would take the words of the song written in the book and make up my own tune. It's really an interactive story a mom can have alot of fun telling.

Aww-woga-oga-goga-ONK -- the royal snore
My two-year-old daughter loves this book, which we read together with much dramatic flair. The problem of King Gordo is familiar to her -- how to take a nap when everyone else is making too much noise? Of course, King Gordohas much more control than a child. He gets to banish the noise-maker tothe "Cold and Snowy Land". We make all of the noisy sound effectstogether (trumpets blare, flags flap, Gerald hiccups, the King snores,Phoebe sings). My daughter walks around our house now saying "thiscastle is TOO NOISY!" The illustrations by James Stevenson are veryamusing. I think it would be enjoyable for a wide age range. ... Read more

The best way to fall asleep!
My children first experienced the peace of falling asleep to this book and tape set. Now years later , my grandchildren are doing the same. Thumbs Up!
I love this book! I read at least a half dozen books to my 2 year old daughter each night before she goes to bed, and this is the one I alwaysleave for last. The words are soothing and spark the imagination and thepictures are large and colorful. This beautifully illustrated book is awonderful way to end the day and send your little one to dream land. Iplace it in the same company as "Goodnight Moon".
