5-0 out of 5 stars Kinder, gentler nursery rhymes. Finally!
What a breath of fresh air. Finally, I can read a nursery rhyme to my babies without fear of giving them nightmares. Bruce Lansky has thoughtfully considered the impressionable minds of our children whenreworking the original Mother Goose rhymes. I don't mind if my childrenforever remember these sweet and funny rhymes. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A perfect addition to a toddler's growing library!
I recently checked out 'The Whole Night Through: A Lullaby' at our local library. My son, like most toddlers, is in love with animals, rhymes and anything that lets him sit on Momma's lap.As I thumbed through the pages, I couldn't help but be instantly drawn to the vibrant, colorful drawings, wonderful verses and interesting story line.Once we got home, I realized what a true gem this book is; not only is it engaging for the average story-loving toddler, but it really is a pleasure to read, even over and over again! The author has a bit of fun with the animals involved (when is the last time you saw a Kinkajou in a children's book?!) and neatly winds the story down at the end, making both reader and toddler perfectly ready for sleeping 'the whole night through'.As an added bonus, you can actually read the bright text even in dim light, making this book perfect for the before bed story.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Favorite In Our House
This book is a favorite in our house. It's a really fun book to read not only the first time but also the 500th. The illustrations are incredible. There is always something new to see and explain in each page. It's a must have. Mr Frampton write more please!

5-0 out of 5 stars An Instant Favorite
We happened to check out this book from the library on a whim, and suddenly it is our daughter's favorite bedtime story. It has beautiful illustrations, memorable poetry, and a main character (the baby panther or jaguar who is trying to stay up all night) who provides some cleverness and mischief to spice up the mixture. It's sort of like a jungle version of Goodnight Moon. And it really does work.... our 2 1/2 year old starts the book active and frisky, and by the end is lying down with her thumb in her mouth. Can't beat that !! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Parents can relate!
As a parent of a toddler, I was able to relate to this book about a little sheep who decided to stay up late and play.He was so tired the next day he couldn't even chew his food!Sometimes we ask our daughter, now 4, if she is too tired to chew -- and she grins. We have yet to find a copy of our own at a reasonable price, so we continue to check it out from our local library branch! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars We want more
This whole series was a hit, it kept me reading and since it abruptly ends at this book (#6) I've been reading the 6 books over and over again, hoping for a change in heart by the author and a real ending, mind you that not rushing an ending in one book would be nice. Yes it is good for us, the readers, to use our imaginations a bit, but this was a complete cliff-hanger. The imagination/creativity is breath taking, never a cheezy moment. Mainly this book takes the story more towards an fantasy/horror story plot. Pixel is in trouble and of course Score/matt and renald/heliene jump right in to save him.... there seems to be little chance for sucsess.... what will happen?

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun Reading
Fun reading, great characters and an interesting twist at the end!John Peel is a good writer. The next books in the series are to be published soon.(...)

5-0 out of 5 stars A clever book about getting a child to go to bed
Thomas doesn't like to go to bed.His mother has tried everything, including reading a story about a mama bear with three cubs who won't hibernate like they should. The mother goes to sleep, and Thomas is reading the book all by himself when the hungry mother bear jumps out of the book and is replaced by Thomas's mother, who is asleep inside the book with the three cubs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Our favorite book!
We love this book. It is my 6 year old's favorite, and has been since she was three. It is a sweet story about lots of things going to sleep. It has a mother, father, sister and brother in it, and rhyming words. It lulls you to sleep. My daughter got a kick out of the fact that their family was just like ours, right down to the cat! I had a hard time finding it back then, and was only able to get a paperback copy. It may be more readily available now. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Witty Story, Wonderful Watercolors
This is one of my favorite children's books. It treats Sam's worries, typical of other children's worries (lost library books, monster under bed, stolen cookies, vampires, etc.) in a funny but understanding manner. And the illustrations of Sam and his companion in worry--his teddy bear--are simply precious.5-0 out of 5 stars One of my all-time favorite picture books.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good bedtime story
This is the story of Little Sleepyhead, a young boy who could not find a place to rest his head.At the end of the day, he is tired. He saw the songbirds in their nests and the turtles in their swhells, but he did not know where to go.He needed some place soft.He couldn't sleep on the grass because bugs tickled his nosel. He couldn't sleep on a tree branch because it was too bumpy. He tried to sleep like a frog on a lily pad, but he fell in.Finally, he shouted "I want to sleep!"The feathers from the birds blew around and he landed on a high heap of them because he knew he needed this soft bed.He ends up snuggling with a lamb because he says he needed something to hug.The story ends with as suggestion for a little child to go to be also if he has a bed and something to hug.The colors are softg and the tone is peaceful. The hue is red, blue and yellow. There is a bright chroma - no grey and there is use of primary colors. The illustrations achieve the desired mood with child and animal dominance which matches the story. This story is appropriate for ages 2-6.

4-0 out of 5 stars A SOOTHING AND AMUSING BEDTIME STORY
This bedtime story is both soothing and amusing as we meet the Little Sleepyhead who lived long, long ago - so long ago "that all the rocks were little pebbles and all the chicks were still in their eggs."Read more
