5-0 out of 5 stars Wow. Who knew a children's book could help an adult
I initially bought this for my teenage daughter who is a junior in high school and completely unmotivated to rise to her potential. My youngest daughter brought home the supplement to Weekly Reader--Career World or something, that was handed out in school and in it was a review of this book. I'm at my wits end when it comes to Dana and I am willing to try most anything, so I bought the book. Since Dana's very picky and hates most things that I buy for her, I decided to read the book myself before giving it to her. I was very surprised. With practical tips and exercises, I saw my own life in a new way and felt more inspired to at least consider again, my ultimate dream of owning my own business. I don't know if Dana will like the book, but I'm giving it to her anyway. My hope is that the inspiring text and stories will move her to get off her butt and explore the wonderful individual that she is.

4-0 out of 5 stars COOL, but not at first.
My teacher gave our class this book to read and at first I hated it because i had to fill out information and stuff. But then I liked it because now I know that I want to draw or maybe own a deli like my dad.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT!
My mom bought this book for me because i have been sad. My athmahas gotten so bad so I can't play soccer anymore. I love soccer so I don't know what else I am good at so this book has helped me kind of figure it out. There is a workbook thing at the back of the book that is helpful and kind of fun. I recommend this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Alda finds magical numbers in photos of ordinary objects.
Our family loved the way Arlene Alda found and photographed the alphabet -"J" is the curve of a coat hanger, "C" are shrimpcurled in a pan. In this book she looks for magic numbers - "8"is two bagels on top of each other, "9" is the handle of a pairof scissors. The kids love to try and find their own "letters"and "numbers" when they are outside playing. ... I have a teen group called Teens Trying To Make a Difference, I ordered it to work with my girls an they really love the book.
5-0 out of 5 stars Something to talk about
This is a really good book, it also gives the young ladies an opportunity to communicate their thoughts ideas and feelings in writing, focusing on courage, determination and self love, which is so important for the 13 to 17 year old age group.I brought this book after meeting Yasmin at a book signing at karabu book store. My daughter read the book, took it to school and shared it with her classmates, they loved the book as well, and so did her teachers, they all said they wanted the book and been working on the testimonies individually and then discussing them as a group.this provides the girls with expression and communication and letting them know they are not alone with issues and concerns they have, also it again emphasizes self love.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very interesting book
My Kindergartener is on Reading Level E in the Guided Reading system (early 1st grade). He thoroughly enjoyed the topic of this book, but it was a little challenging. We ended up taking turns reading the pages. (He read one, then I read the next.)The photos were incredible. He really enjoyed them. Sometimes he gets tired of reading practice because he really prefers science books to fiction books, so it was fun for him to read this book. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
I happened on this book by accident and was thrilled. The title is somewhat deceiving because sex is only a part of it.The main theme of this book is female empowerment, which involves making good decisions and being true to yourself. This book touches on all aspects of any woman's life and I got as much out of it as they will.Hopefully it will inspire my girls to realize the importance of a strong, smart woman and aspire to be her.

5-0 out of 5 stars every mother needs to share this with their daughter
Not only did this book give me a chance to look at my self, it gave me a better perspective on what my daughter is going though and ways to help her deal with being a teen. Even if she won't addmit she got something out of this book, I can see it by the way she has changed her out look on life, friends and BOYS. I would reccomend this book to any one who knows a girl. Wheather it be your own, a niece, a friend or even a stranger. This book is easy to read and understand.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ten Little Elvi
What an absolutely charming counting book! The rhyming phrases make it fun to read and the illustrations are vibrant. It's a delightful way to introduce Elvis to children. Adult fans of the King will enjoy looking for all the references to Memphis, Vegas, Graceland and all other Elvis trivia. A definite must-have for any child or child-like fan of the man.

4-0 out of 5 stars Lots of Fun
Fun book.Although classed as a children's book, adults will be amused with the clever verses that make reference to 10 of Elvis' best songs. The pictures are bright and with lots of activity to encourage conversation with any child too young to read the book by themself. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for a gift
My granddaughter and I share a Birthday. There was an article about "Something to Remember Me By" and the success it has achieved in our local paper. I guess great minds really do think alike, as both myself and my granddaughter thought what a perfect and wonderful gift it would be. We both ended up giving it to each other on our shared Birthdays. You should have seen our surprised faces when we realized the coincidence.5-0 out of 5 stars Something to Remember Me By
This book shows a wonderful heart filled story about a loving relationship between a grandmother and her granddaughter. When the granddaughter goes over to visither grandmother after every visit her grandmother takes her into her bedroom and gives her something special to remember her by.When the granddaughter was younger they would bake cookies and go shopping together. Now that she is growing up and the grandmother is getting older she is beginning to forget things. The granddaughter gives her something special so that she will never forget her.5-0 out of 5 stars Share with Grandparent/Grandchild/Grandfriend
This book shows the warm relationship of a grandmother and granddaughter. Even the ordinary seems like a special treat with Grandma.
